  1. I've bought a bike and am loving it. Any Melb Rebels interested in meeting up for a group ride?
  2. Would anybody be interested in a Melbourne meetup? Perhaps some Zero Latency (https://www.zerolatencyvr.com) then Bartronica (https://www.facebook.com/bartronica)?
  3. Yo! Just finished my Nuzlocke run of Pokemon Blue which was really fun. I've played through XY as well. I'm guessing you want to build a team for online? I suggest checking out some guides on Smogon about team building to get yourself started, then mix and match and find a set that works for you. Also read up on EVs, then once you get the hang of that, read up on IVs. Some guides to help you get started building a team: http://www.smogon.com/smog/issue42/good-teambuilding-cores-ou http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/ou-team-building.3475759/
  4. In my experience I find just having a drink bottle with me helps, mainly because its there and there's no excuse not to drink it. I also find having it with me when I go out prevents me from wasting my money and health on soft drinks.
  5. That sounds great! If you go with Wonder Woman then I suggest colouring your eyebrows as well because they may get lost in the dark wig
  6. Nice, would be cool if we had something like that over here. Guess I'll just have to stick to DDR. Also it reminds me of this, a zombie-escape game where the controller is a treadmill: http://globalgamejam.org/2015/games/dreadmill
  7. What's your fitness artifact, ie: the thing you're working so hard to achieve? Right now I'm working towards a 'hot bod' but I feel like I can do better. To me, 'hot bod' is really a side-effect of getting the artifact rather than *being* the artifact. I need something more specific and crazy for my artifact, like a scaling a very physically intense wall or cycling a difficult path (not sure of any examples, if you know of any feel free to post them). So in all, still deciding on mine. How about you?
  8. TV / Anime / Movies: - Buffy (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) - Veronica (Veronica Mars) - Ash, Ritchie (Pokemon) - ALL THE ORIGINAL DIGI-DESTINED... and Ken (Digimon) - Mikasa, Armin, Eren, Levi, Hange, Petra (Attack on Titan) - Blossum (The Powerpuff Girls) - Daria (Daria) - Rin, Makoto, Rei (Free!) - Lisa (The Simpsons) - Mufasa (The Lion King) - Luke, Rey (Star Wars) - Katniss (The Hunger Games) - Hermione (Harry Potter) Games: - Link (Legend of Zelda) - Red, N, Lance, Cynthia (Pokemon) - Mario (Super Mario Bros) - Kurisu (Steins;Gate) - Ema, Phoenix, Miles, Apollo, Klavier (Ace Attorney) - Phi (Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward) Obviously not all of them are fitness related but they all have really cool traits.
  9. Definitely give it a go! The community is really nice and welcoming, plus you get to meet other fans of whatever fandom you're doing! For your first time I'd recommend finding a character that looks like you, just so you feel more comfortable in the costume. If you're on the chubbier side like me and not comfortable with exposing a lot of yourself then choose a character that is reasonably covered up. I've been Rhyme (The World Ends With You) and Ema Skye (Ace Attorney) and felt good in both, but I've also been Misty (Pokemon) which I didn't feel so good in. Believe me, I know it can be hard to pick a female character who isn't too exposed but they do exist. There's also no shame in being a genderbent or different gendered character either if you want to go down that path. If you need some ideas, maybe list some of your fandoms here and a brief description of what you look like (or a photo if you're comfortable with that) and see if anyone here can come up with anything. Another suggestion is to get a friend to cosplay with you! Not only do you get the added support of your buddy but it also adds accountability. If you do decide to ahead with it (which you totally should), don't forget to eat properly and drink plenty of water. Keep tabs on the weather and your own body temperature, you don't want your costume making you too hot or too cold. Cons also get crowded which can make it warmer than usual so keep that in mind as well. Happy cosplaying~
  10. Hi, thanks for the welcome @pureleeawesome
  11. Hey everyone, I'm a newbie rebel here. I'm from Melbourne, outer eastern suburbs.
  12. Hey everyone, I'm Queenie and I've just joined the rebellion. I recently come across Level Up Your Life and it's at a time of my life where I've really needed it. I work as a gameplay programmer, which I like but it's for someone else, and I've always wanted to create my own stuff and live off that. I'm also overweight and have seen nothing of the world, which I also want to change. My profile is tricked out with Pokémon stuff because Ash Ketchum was my hero growing up. He was only 10 years old and went out to travel the world and make his dreams come true. And he isn't perfect, he's made countless mistakes, but he still keeps going. So here I am, trying to channel my inner Pokémon Master so I can be the very best, like no one ever was. It's time to see if my courage will pull me through; for you to teach me and me to teach you. Let's go Catch 'em All!
