  1. The ruck I am using is generally also my every day carry. But, I've moved to a more work from home lifestyle - this was planned pre-covid - and this bag was being neglected a bit. So, I stuffed it with bricks and it is usually waiting in my garage for me. On the occasions I need to use it for something else, it only takes me a few seconds to unload and re-load it. I had used this image to illustrate something to RP when I first started rucking again. But, it works for this too. The smaller package with the GORUCK sticker has 2 bricks, the other has 4. They are sitting on a couple of styrofoam blocks to keep the weight as high on my back, as possible. (I do tend to strap the bricks to the molle with a couple of straps, as well.) But loading and unloading is a matter of 30 seconds. But, yes! Having it loaded so that I can just throw it on my back in the morning is a pleasure.
  2. After commenting in @Ann of Vries's thread about posting photos of one's self with 15+kg on one's back... I realized, LadySka had a shot of us this morning lugging weight around the Charles. As you can tell, good times were had. You can tell because the bottle says so. Also - I rarely behave in front of a camera.
  3. This is certainly not a practice you need to defend or explain. Carrying 15+ kg of anything is worthy of photos. I added a photo of me doing similarly last challenge. Except, I was rucking around bricks. You are carrying around a shake weight on your back. You should feel strong!
  4. That looks like... nah, it doesn't. I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes though. Also, since I'm in garage gym mode... show me yours!
  5. Figure out the knee. Because, I'm game.
  6. You falling asleep in the midst of playtime seems like just the right amount of unintentional revenge for that guy throwing mixed signals left and right (even if it is now clear). 😈 Sorry? Did you say Half Marathon? I'm participating in a (now) virtual 10K in October... Which means I could be in range for a Half in December(ish)...
  7. Yes. Yes, you should. And, much safer. At least you know where my cooties come from.
  8. I have my original GR0 which has been my EDC and weekend travel bag for years. Since the world has stopped it has gone back to hauling bricks around. It is my only EDC bag. You have more bags for EDC?? I also have a GR2 as my main travel bag. But, those are my only two bags - not including my backpacking pack and hydration things...
  9. Sure, sure. Choose the definition that makes your statement seem like the better compliment. I see you @Tanktimus the Encourager. 😁
  10. hmmm... Well, which is it? Is it great or really good?
  11. There will always be something interesting. Even the mundane can be interesting in the right light.

    Xena is Restless

Have you tried rolling a golf ball under your foot? It hurts sooooooooo gooood. But, in all seriousness is what has kept it at bay for me when it would flare up. In the brain. Poke it in the brain!
  13. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSssssssss! He's back... I look forward to seeing your lifts, your progress, and you cardio! (My ruck has recently been getting some mileage after being relegated to EDC and travel for..... a long while.)
  14. Get that pull-up! Then, get those pull-ups!
  15. Nifflers are the best! Wait, a second! Where'd my watch go!?
  16. Strong Lifts is my gateway. The plan is easy. It absolutely helps me get stronger and helps cure some traditional imbalances I've had. I've never actually made it past SL though. I'm looking forward to that happening this time. Until then...

    What now?

Yeeeeeepppppppppppppp. Post race blues is most definitely a thing. Finding a goal to train for is the key. It doesn't have to be as big as THE BIG RACE. It could be a lifting goal, a speed goal, an obstacle technique goal. Just something to focus on and get you moving forward.
  18. Our goals are similarly aligned. Consistency is key. Since the world has stopped, I have built up my garage gym. I too have removed the No Gym excuse. Get after it. One step after another.
  19. Why thank you! New Challenge is up.
