  1. Goal 1: Completed day 11 out of 30. Goal 2: On hold until we can buy more fruit/vegetables. Goal 3: Exceeded my goal today! Glasses of water: 4 Glasses of chocolate milk: 0 Goal 4: Cooked at home today. Goal 5: Did some cleaning today but really need to focus on it more.. keep forgetting. Goal 6: On hold until after I start my new job on the 10th. Thoughts on the day: My husband took half the day off so we could just hang out for a bit. Super relaxing day.
  2. Day 10: Tuesday, May 3 Goal 1: Completed day 10 out of 30. Goal 2: On hold until we purchase more fruits/vegetables. Goal 3: Goal met. Glasses of water: 3 Glasses of chocolate milk: 1 Goal 4: We ate out today. It’s Tuesday and that already marks time number 2 for eating out this week. No more until Sunday! Goal 5: Started cleaning, but didn’t get as much done as I would’ve liked. Goal 6: On hold until after I start my new job on the 10th.
  3. Awesome to see a social worker! I was studying social work until I decided I REALLY needed a break from school. I love playing video games but books definitely hold a lot of my interest too. Do you have a favorite? Or perhaps a book your enjoying right now? I've been working my way through the Dragonriders of Pern series for a little bit now, but I'm in between books right now. Not quite sure if I want to move on to the next book in the series or take a break and start a new one. Welcome to NF!
  4. I'm in a similar boat. Weight loss isn't really my goal either as I'm relatively where I need to be weight wise. I'm just super out of shape. Welcome to NF!
  5. Week 2: May 1 - May 7 Day 9: Monday, May 2 Goal 1: Day 9 out of 30 complete Goal 2: No snacks Goal 3: Spent most of the afternoon out of the house and forgot to pay attention to water consumption. Glasses of water: 1 Glasses of chocolate milk: 1 Goal 4: Cooked at home today. Goal 5: Ran out of time since my husband decided to trade his car in for something more reliable for relatively the same price. Goal 6: On hold until after May 10th when I start my new job.
  6. So I very much neglected things with this for the past several days. One of my husband friends told us they were planning on trying for a baby. I was super excited for the news until I started thinking about my situation. I REALLY want to start a family, but for financial reasons it just isn't possible any time soon. Being 24 I have plenty of time to start a family of my own (and honestly, even if we were able to financially I'm not sure we would start right away), but it still sucks that we just flat out aren't able to.. for the sole reason that I have had such a difficult time getting a job. I feel like its my fault we're struggling so much right now. And, technically, it is. If I had just gone back to the career I had before my last job we would be doing fine. But I hated that career. I wasn't happy and it showed at my job. Then to put the icing on the cake for how depressed I was feeling about the money issues, I got an invite to attend graduation this Friday for my sister-in-law. Once again, super happy she's graduating and I will be attending. But her graduation time is at the same time as when I was supposed to be graduating. My particular program was really small so everyone in our cohort learns who just about everyone else is. I'm not graduating with them on Friday because I essentially flunked out last semester. There was a whole bunch of drama surrounding my wedding with my mom and it affected me a lot. My social anxiety flared up, my attendance and participation at my internship dropped causing me to loose it, and I failed most of my classes. In the interest of improving my mental health I decided to only take one class this semester (I'm an officer for my programs honor society. I wouldn't be allowed to finish out the year if I had taken no classes and since we had been operating short staffed the entire past semester due to our president having to drop out at the last minute.. I really didn't want them to be out yet another officer.) and then take a break from school for the following semester. All of these things are adding up to make me feel inadequate and incompetent. When my husband needed me because he was in so much pain from his back that he couldn't go out and run errands... I found myself unable to as well because my anxiety and depression were essentially confining me to the bed. I couldn't get control of myself. It affected school to the point where I was at risk of being kicked out of the program. I lost my internship. I've spent the past 4 months looking for work and getting almost no interviews. My new job does start on the 10th, at a place I'm excited to work at, but I wanted full time work at roughly $13 an hour, not part time work at minimum wage ($9/hour here). There are so many crappy things going on that I'm really struggling to find anything good. My husband and I will have been married 7 months on the 10th. All of these issues have caused a huge strain on our relationship. We had to cancel our plans to go on a honeymoon for our 6 months anniversary since we didn't really get one after the wedding, and now we probably have to cancel our plans to go visit his family in Maine for Christmas.. again. He's gone once in the 5 years we've been together. We did make it for thanksgiving one year and we went home about a week after the wedding to visit his family and friends that couldn't make it. So he's been home a total of 3 times in the past 5 years, but we really wanted to be there for Christmas since the last time he made it up for Christmas was the year we started dating (2010). Goal Update: Days 5 (Thursday, April 28) through 8 (Sunday, May 1) Goal 1: Completed through day 8 out of 30. Missed the workout for both Saturday and Sunday. Goal 2: Ran out of all healthy snacks, but we also have no unhealthy snacks so I just haven't been snacking. Goal 3: Got three glasses of water on Thursday and Friday. Didn't pay attention on Saturday as we spent most of the day at a wedding. Didn't drink even one full glass on Sunday. Had chocolate milk Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. One of those days was an extra large glass that probably came out to two normal glasses. Other days was just one. Goal 4: We ate out 2 of the 4 previous days. Goal 5: Failed to clean this weekend. Will start with the kitchen and litter boxes today. Will also pick up all of the trash. Goal 6: Have not applied for any jobs since Tuesday. I'll post sometime tonight about how today went. Probably also going to cut back on some of the goals.
  7. Day 4: Wednesday, April 27 Goal 1: Completed day 6 out of 30. Goal 2: Did alright today. Morning snack: Banana Afternoon snack: Cookies Evening snack: Nothing Goal 3: I was short half a glass today, but I didn’t drink any chocolate milk. Glasses of water: 2 ½ Glasses of chocolate milk: 0 Goal 4: Cooked at home today. Goal 5: On hold until the weekend. Goal 6: Found a job to apply for tomorrow. Thoughts on the day: I wasn’t paying enough attention to how much water I was drinking and fell short by half a cup. It wouldn’t be hard to chug it but I wake up often enough during the night to use the restroom that I really don’t need to be chugging water before bed time. We are out of carrots, so that’s one healthy snack down. On the bright side, the cookies are gone as well. Today’s exercise was too easy so I’m really looking forward to tomorrows as it should be a little more challenging. The people with HR did finally email me so I could start the process of filling out the new hire paperwork. I got it all returned ASAP and am now just waiting to hear back from then again so I can start the next step. I hope it starts soon. I really want to be able to buy running shows once I’m done with this exercise program so I can start running right away.
  8. Also, I just noticed I've been using the wrong day of the week.. Guess that's what happens when your sleep schedule gets messed up. Since it won't let me edit my old posts... the corrections are as follows: Day 1 should have been Saturday Day 2 should have been Monday
  9. Day 3: Tuesday, April 26th Goal 1: Completed day 5 out of 30. Goal 2: Met goal of eating fruit/vegetables for 2 out of 3 snacks. Morning snack: Banana Afternoon snack: Carrots Evening snack: Cookies Goal 3: Met goal of drinking at least 3 glasses of water a day and no more than 1 glass of chocolate milk a day. Glasses of water: 3 Glasses of chocolate milk: 0 Goal 4: Cooked at home today. Goal 5: To be accomplished this weekend. Goal 6: Applied for a job today. Thoughts on the day: So I sent the husband to buy some cookies since he had to go to the store for cat food anyways. On the bright side I opted not to drink any chocolate milk so I didn’t have to feel bad about eating the cookies lol. In other news, I’m still waiting to hear back from HR with the place that hired me. I have to fill out some paperwork before I can start and they are supposed to be emailing me. They still haven’t so I guess I’m calling tomorrow. Exercises are going well. The soreness I was experiencing after strength day has gone down. I’m now just experiencing a pleasant I’m-working-out-and-pushing-myself-but-not-to-the-point-of-crippling tenderness.
  10. Day 2: Saturday, April 25th Goal 1: Day 4 out of 30 completed. Goal 2: I did not snack at all today. Goal 3: Forgot to drink a glass of water with lunch, but I made up for it later in the day. Glasses of water: 3 Glasses of chocolate milk: 1 Goal 4: Did not eat out today. Goal 5: On Hold Goal 6: Found a job to apply for tomorrow. Thoughts on the day: So far so good. We went to the store today so we now have healthy snacks in the house. I’ve put goal 5 (cleaning the apartment) on hold for now. My husband and I are going to set aside time this weekend to get it clean. Today was an easy day for the exercise program. I’m pretty thankful for that as it’s allowed my legs to recover. They’ve been hurting quite a bit since day 2.
  11. Congrats on the engagement. Hope the wedding goes how you want it and that both you and your soon to be wife enjoy yourselves!
  12. Thanks @Steaky I was the same in high school. I weighed about 120 lbs at 5'8". I could eat whatever I wanted and never gain a pound. Granted, I also had an overactive thyroid so my metabolism was working too well. Now I have the opposite problem. My thyroid produces too little so my metabolism sucks. And of course, my eating habits didn't change any when that happened. Feel free to drop me a message whenever as well.
  13. Week 1: April 24-April 30 Day 1: Sunday, April 24th Goal 1: Completed day 3 of the exercise program. Goal 2: N/A. Can’t start until we go grocery shopping. Goal 3: N/A. Didn’t think of this goal until 2:00 in the morning, will start Saturday. Goal 4: We ate out today so we cannot eat out again until Sunday, May 1st. Goal 5: N/A. Didn’t think of this goal until 2:00 in the morning. Goal 6: Applied for one job today. Need to apply for another job April 26th. Thoughts on the day: I joined NF today. Introduced myself and started a daily log. Pretty impressive considering how incredibly shy I’ve been lately, even online. I enjoy doing the exercise program and I feel like I’m accomplishing something. My legs are pretty sore from it lol. Looking forward to starting my new job so I can buy some running shoes. I really want to start running, but I own no shows that I can run in. They’re all slip-ons or work shoes.
  14. Goal 1: Complete a 30 day foundation exercise program. Measured: Complete 30/30 days of the program. Plan: Exercise at 3:00pm everyday (unless work begins to interfere, then I'll pick a new time) Goal 2: Eat fruits/vegetables for a snack instead of junk food. Measured: Eat fruit or vegetables for at least 2 out of 3 snacks in a day for 4 weeks. Plan: Purchase fruits and vegetables that I like from the store. Do not buy junk food. Having to go buy it will deter me from wanting to eat it. Goal 3: Drink more water and less chocolate milk. Measured: Drink 0-1 glasses of chocolate milk per day for 4 weeks. Drink 3+ cups of water per day for 4 weeks. Plan: Don't drink chocolate milk unless it's after dinner. Drink a glass of water with lunch, dinner, and after completing a workout. Goal 4: Eat out only once a week. Measured: Eat out only once between Sunday and Saturday for 4 weeks. Plan: Log when I eat out so I do not forget that I have already done it for that week. Create a meal list to follow so I don't have to decide what I want to eat for dinner that day. Goal 5: Get the apartment clean before I start my new job On hold. My husband and I will be cleaning it jointly and need to pick a good day to do it. Goal 6: Find a second job. Measured: Send one application out every other day until a job offer is made. Plan: Look up several jobs the day before application needs to be sent and pick one. Fill out the application the next day and send it. I hope that clarifies things a little. This seems like a lot for me to try and remember so I may end up cutting back on one but I don't know. A lot of the changes I'm making are based on saving money. Drinking less chocolate milk = not having to buy a gallon every week, eating out only once a week = less money spent on food, etc.
  15. Hello! I just joined today but I feel like having this log will really help keep me accountable. If you would like a not-very-short introduction to me and my goals.. here is a link to the introduction I posted earlier: On Friday I started the Foundation program I found on darebee.com. So far I haven't missed a day and I actually look forward to doing it each day. I've been dragging my husband along for the ride too lol. Though he's doing the light version of the foundation program due to his still recovering back. We go grocery shopping tomorrow and will begin our slow progression towards eating healthier food. Since we're pretty tight on money right now we're just starting out with trying to switch from eating junk food for a snack to eating fruit or vegetables. We'll be buying carrots and bananas to start. I'm also making it a goal to drink more water every day. Due to money I've already pretty much cut soda out of my diet completely. I only get it when we eat out, which we're trying to limit to once a week now. However, I drink a ton of chocolate milk (chocolate syrup and milk). I'm also obviously a little dehydrated as I frequently feel thirsty. Easy to read format.. Goal 1: Complete 30 day foundation exercise program. Goal 2: Eat fruits/vegetables for a snack instead of junk food. Goal 3: Drink more water and less chocolate milk Only 1 glass of chocolate milk per day. At least 3 cups of water per day. Goal 4: Eat out only once a week. Goal 5: Get the apartment clean before I start my new job (Hopefully in 2 weeks) Goal 6: Look for a second job. Send one application out every other day. I hope to update progress once a week day. In order to keep track of how I'm doing properly I need to log what I'm doing each day so I may as well post it here instead of keeping it in a word doc.. and then posting it here later.
