  5. UPDATE! Week 1 is well and truly over and I'm only now getting around to writing about it. Let's get to it! Quick Summary: To achieve the body of an assassin I must complete 3 C25k runs a week, with a days rest in between each run. Week 1: This went well. I managed to get three runs in during week 1, as well as getting to the Halfway point of the C25K app. Delighted with myself. On one of the rest days each week I will complete three circuits of Steve's Beginner Bodyweight Workouts I actually pushed myself a bit here (safely, don't worry!) and I did TWO bodyweight workouts! I'm delighted with this, as it was the mini-challenge that pushed me to do a second workout. To continue my currecnt streak on Duolingo in Spanish without missing a single day. (Possibly attend a Spanish Converstation Group.) I did it! This is easily my proudest achievement. I haven't attended any conversation groups yet, but I'm on the longest Duolingo streak of my life at the minute! (17 days and counting!) To only eat paeleo breakfasts from now on. I had one slip up here as I was visiting my parents and there was NO FOOD apart from Weetabix! Otherwise I'm quite happy with myself!
  6. Welcome! I'm fairly new myself but this community is very welcoming and fun so enjoy your stay! Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  7. I have been training Pokemon for twenty years. I currently am playing through Alpha Sapphire to get a Living Dex! Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  8. My fellow freshman! I'm just about to settle down and write out my challenge thread, so I decided to check out yours first for inspiration! Y'know for interval training I've been using http://www.c25kfree.com/ I'm just after finishing Week 4 Day 2 and I love it. I don't know about you, but I find it easier to use my mental energy on keeping my body running rather than keeping time for a jog/run. The app beeps and then tells you what to do. For example: "Begin running for 90 seconds. You are on run 2 of 8". One thing I love about it is it will make a little sound and tell you when you are halfway through the run! Also why don't you put a link to your blog in your signature? That will at least give a little more motivation to keep yourself going? Anyway, here's my challenge thread!
  9. I like to ramble. A lot. Especially if there is a story telling element in anything, so I kinda went over the top on this post. I only have FOUR GOALS. So... Too long to read? Skip to the bottom for a quick summary! ********************************************** I'm a big fan of little changes. I think that to overwhelm oneself with a massive long list of things that they MUST do is a recipe for failure. If that's not you, it is certainly me. Goals have to be SMART. (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time restricted.) HOWEVER. In keeping with Nerd Fitness' RPG theme, I don't have goals. I have Quests. Quests of the Body To be able to assassinate any foe, as well be able to make a quick escape, I need a body ready for any challenge. To achieve the body of an assassin I must complete 3 C25k runs a week, with a days rest in between each run. On one of the rest days each week I will complete three circuits of Steve's Beginner Bodyweight Workouts. Quests of Languages In order to travel the world and be able to blend into any crowd, as any assassin must be able to do, I need more than just two languages. To continue my current streak on Duolingo in Spanish without missing a single day. (Bonus: Attend the local Spanish Conversation Group) Quest of the Culinary Arts I may need to go days without food when sent to assassinate. I must fuel my body properly in preparation. To only eat paeleo breakfasts from now on. ********************************************** Quick Summary Plus Updates! 10. This is indeed my first 4 week challenge! I haven't gotten around to making my actual thread yet, but I will on Saturday. I have a vague idea of what I want to do though! Paleo and assassin style workout are brand new to me. I've dwelled in other forums, so I'm not totally unfamiliar to the layout and stuff. (Although with 44 posts I don't think you are either!) Let me know when you put up your challenge thread!
  11. Thanks for the reply! I checked out the Rebels, but kinda feel more at home reading about the Assassins. I've been browsing the site and forums for a while before I joined up, so I'm a complete n00b. (although I really am in other ways.) I'm certainly going to check out the Accountabilibuddies, but I'll drop by the other links you've given me also! Thanks for the tips! I'll be as chatty as time and energy allows, hopefully I'll find some fellow freshmen to bong with. (Bong is a typo, but it's so awesome I'm not going to bother correcting it.) One more thing actually, are the majority of forum users paying members of Nerd Fitness? Everyone and their mother seems to have an actual level, stats, races, etc in their signature. I'm more focused on my Epic Quest Level.
  12. I freaking love Legend of Korra. Zhu Li and Varrick are hilarious. Get back to me when you finish it, I want to know what you think of the ending! I agree with Hazard, you should pick one hobby to focus on a week, but have the others there in the background for when you have the time/energy/motivation to do it!
  13. Thanks for the welcome! Fitness is certainly a goal for me. I can barely run for 30 seconds without huffing and puffing.
  14. Fellow Assassins, I'm new and fresh to the Rebellion. My goals I have sorted. ish. I've written them out and am pretty happy with them. What I really want/need help with is this forums... culture? atmosphere? I don't know what I'm trying to say... I guess what I mean is, where is most of the good info/chat/motivations/connections to fellow Rebels? And I know that it can be whatever I want it to be, etc etc. but what do you recommend? Also, I'm in the evening of my first ever day going pure paleo! Help a brother out
  15. I really need to learn how to just scroll down and read all the thread before I go to my settings. I was going through my settings for far too long!
  16. Hi all, My name is Ron Nid, and I've been a nerd for all of my 27 years on this earth. A friend recommended Steve Kamb's book Level Up Your Life, and I bought it almost straight away. It was a fascinating read and more than anything, it excited me for the possibility that lays before me. Thankfully I don't have a weight issue, but I would certainly be a candidate for the issue of being "TOFI"(Thin Outside, Fat Inside - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TOFI) My diet at the minute isn't awful, but it certainly isn't perfect. My main mission isn't so much fitness, although it is certainly a goal, but more to enable myself to live the life I want to lead. I love my job at the minute, but it is still just that: a job. Hoping to meet similarly minded people and get some motivation, as well as motivate! See ye in the comments!
  17. From Leitrim and live in Dublin!
