  1. @herwitsend YES! Nobody should have to live in fear of peeing themselves. Pelvic floor dysfunction is a real issue that SO many moms take on as "normal". DRA healing and pelvic floor healing can be separately managed though not completely unrelated. Where do you live? Let me see if there is someone in your area that can be a resource for you!
  2. @miranda How far along are you now? I apologize for being MIA, but I am hoping I can be a resource.
  3. @Elennare & @Trixie Falsae Hey Ladies! I apologize that I have been absent here. I would love both of you to try the following videos to help with your DRA healing. These are the progressions I teach in my postpartum series and have continued to see results. BIRTHFIT strongly recommends against planking and any sagittal plane movement (Toes to bar/situps/V ups), and instead to focus on full trunk stability and bracing first. Try it out and let me know how it goes!!

  7. Hey @Trixie Falsae! I am not super familiar with the her plan - I will look through it now and give you my thoughts. In the meantime - where are you located? - how big/where is your diastasis? - what are you doing currently for exercise/activity? - what are your goals?
  8. Hello! I am a gym owner and have been in and around CrossFit since 2008. Over the last 9 years, I have helped empower individuals to redefine their definition of health and fitness. One of my favorite moments is watching women find confidence, beauty and liberation in discovering themselves to be strong and capable in ways they had never before imagined. Over time, something started to happen: a lot of these empowered women began to get pregnant. In the beginning I was happy to refer them to CrossFit MOM and work with the information provided their to create a program that worked for our ladies. It seemed to do a decent job to give our ladies more fitness support and guidance than what they were otherwise getting (which is slim to none!). When I got pregnant the first time March of 2015, I was mortified to discover the site had been discontinued. As I searched around for other resources, it hit me how incredibly scarce information around the training and fitness needs for prenatal and postpartum is. I find this to be unacceptable and something requiring immediate attention from the entire fitness community. I believe the best way to go about this is to first become a solid resource myself. I have done a lot of online research as to which certifications I should pursue. The research pointed me to BIRTHFIT and I have spent the last year immersing myself in all things prenatal/postpartum. I am now the SF Regional Director for BIRTHFIT ..... My intention for this thread is to create an ongoing thread for questions/rants/sharing for mommas, mommas to be, and women TTC (that's me!). Anyone want in?
  9. @Koaladle I am now the SF Regional Director for BIRTHFIT.... Are you pregnant? Still trying? Postpartum? Ask away!
  10. Hey! I am now the SF Regional Director for BIRTHFIT. How is your healing?
  11. Hello Trixie! I am the SF regional director for BIRTHFIT and teach postpartum series to help women heal emotionally/physically from childbirth. I am just curious what exercises you are using to heal your diastasis? Thanks!

    Zera's Reboot

Hello! I am Zera, and I joined NF last year and have found myself to be a warrior accepting occasional quests as a ranger or druid. This is what I wrote last year: All of this is still true.... I lost 18 pounds and and was doing OK. In January I had a hysteroscopy and deviated from my workout & nutrition rhythm. I started having other, new fertility complications. Then 3 weeks ago my dad was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma (unsure of stage - at least 3c). I have been shaken to my core. I need this challenge, and your help, dear reader... whomever you are. I need a community I can be transparent with and who will hold me high while I pull myself together and put one foot in front of the other. ALL of that said... here are my goals for this challenge: REBOOT Mind 5 minutes walking meditation daily Read 3 books Body Lose 3 pounds Restart with my nutritionist Lift 3 days a week (following the Grindstone program 3x week CF Football program... not allowed to lift more than that for fertility) Spirit Rejoin synagogue 1 gratitude letter a week (whether or not the letter is shared) Speak with my Dad 3x a week See my dad 1x a week Create dad and me "bucket list" Growth Finish BIRTHFIT SF website
  13. Ok -- I fell off the wagon tracking here because I am tracking on Myfitness Pal with my nutritionist, and TrainHeroic with my coach... I got lazy here. But that said, the battle waged on.... With great victories!! I am not 100% back to my old weights, but I am insanely happy with my progress. Here is where I stand in relation to the goals I set on May 11th in. my first Battle Log. My Goals Check-In Lifting Lift 4x a week! ON TRACK! Snatch (Goal: 78K; Was: 67K ; Current: 74K) Clean and Jerk (Goal: 89K; Was: 82K; Current: 90K!) Squat (Goal: 115K; Was: 105K ; Current: 110K) Deadlift (Goal: 115K; Was: 137K; Current: ) Bonus Round: Did my first competition since nationals in 2014. I matched what I did in 2014! That was my best meet ever, so not complaints here!!! Met-Con EPIC faillings here... but all for the sake of the bar, so I am happy and renegotiated this goal... ready to set some new ones Weight GOAL: 65 Starting Weight: 71 Current: 63.5!
