    Mirena?

Ouch. FWIW, I'm sticking with my Implanon.

    Mirena?

My OB-GYN suggested I consider it. He said since I haven't had children, he'll only insert it when I'm on my period, because of the pain issues. Apparently everything is a little more open then. You may want to ask your doc if that is an option.
  3. Another ex smoker here. I know what a b*tch it is, you all have my support. I used Chantix, but I also had to think of it as a bunch of habits, not just one. Ie, I quit my in between 1st and 2nd class cigarette, then I quit my 2nd cig on the way to work, then I quit my 1st cig on the way to work, and so on. Breaking it up like that made it a lot more manageable than all or nothing. Good luck!
  4. I'm in: http://nerdfitness.com/community/entry.php?4294-First-Challenge!
  5. Good for you! I've been there, it's a pain in the ass. I used Chantix, and it was great - though I had some really weird dreams on it. I'm pulling for you!
  6. I wish I'd had some sort of marriage counseling or mentoring. My husband and I were married by a judge (ballroom, with drinking before and after, if details matter), and I felt like we'd been dropped into some unknown land. Adjusting to married life has been HARD. There are problems that have come up that I never would have expected, and having someone mention them ahead of time would have been nice. Pre-Cana or not, take what you can from it, ignore the other crap if you feel like it's crap, and use it as a time to get to know your (soon to be) wife better.
  7. Wow, thanks for the great welcome! I'm really hoping for the "chicks that do that are hot as hell" response from my husband, too. He's out of the country for 6 months, and I'm really hoping to surprise him in a good way when he comes home.
  8. I'm new, and very hesitant. A little background - I've always been skinny-fat, or just skinny. I was the nerdy, younger, theater geek in school. Never played sports, worked in the office to get out of gym class. The only time I didn't dread and/or fail gym was the brief 6 week unit on weight lifting. Fast forward 10+ years, and I'm almost 30, and have lost the skinny part of skinny-fat. In the past two years, I've put on close to 50 lbs. Some of it was good, I was underweight from stress and smoking, but most of it is just fat, and I'm tired of it. I'm going to join the challenges, and I'm going to get fit. I'm nervous, because I'm trying to get to a place I've never been before. I want to be strong, and I want to be athletic. These are things I've never allowed myself to want before, because I always felt they were out of reach. No more!
  9. You also might want to check this out: http://darkgreener.com/introducing-what-size-am-i It's stats+fashion, I'm in love. You enter your bust, waist, and hip measurements, and the program compares your proportions to the fits of different popular shops (the gap, topshop, zara, etc) to give you an idea of what sizes will fit and whose fit models are closest to your shape. It's designed for the UK and US, but there may be some crossover for you, and it may give you an idea of where to start shopping or what brands to look for in thrift stores.
  10. I know I'm a little late, but you may want to talk to your doctor about getting it switched out for a new one. I'm on my second Implanon, and I didn't have to wait until the official expiration date. I wonder if yours is running out of juice? Can they do that?
