1. take on gum from MDA BTW, chewing and saliva stimulation prep your body to receive food. When that doesn't happen, artificial demands/cravings can come on b/c your body is primed for food. I go the toothbrush route.
2. I too use a Ninja blender. i believe any awesome blender will work.
3. US... ups and downs, man. Our friend took his son to see practice there last night and got some pics with the players at the hotel. So cool.
4. It starts today!!!!!!!!!!! Wheeeee!!! Here's from last time (kinda blury but you'll see why we had to take it fast): And the US is in a WC qualifier tonight!
5. Last night's workout: AMRP in 15 mins of BPx3 75# followed by 2 full dips. Did 16 reps. Weight was too light. rope pull ups (upper body only) x 5 followed by 20 of these weird prone lat pulldowns (with legs up too) with the rubber bands you use for pull ups. Combo x5 sets (killer!!!!) Rope pull ups look like this: Other back thing looks like this on the ground: and then imagine doing this w full resistance on those pullup bands Full situps x 10, half situp x 10, crunch x10 w 20#weight on chest. Repeat for 8, 6, 4, 2 reps Must finish in 5 mins. Done. Sweaty workout. Tonight: Swimming. Aiming for 400m nonstop and 1600m total of swimming 800m total for deep water running. Beer week continues....
6. I also highly recommend the 1 TBSP butter and 1 TBSP coconut oil in coffee whipped in a blender to frothy awesomeness.
7. When I first went primal and was trying to figure out how much fat I needed, I did the bullet proof coffee w 1 TBSP butter and 1 TBSP coconut oil. OMG! Awesomeness every day. But I hit a weight loss plateau and some searching of the diet revealed the number of calories I was taking in via butter and coconut oil just in my coffee in addition to the fat I was eating in meat, etc. I cut out the bullet proof coffee, got fat down to the right amount almost exclusively through meat and meat prep and lost more weight. I miss it! I LOVED it.
8. A lemon tree sounds so nice! I've never tried fruit. My parents live in the Boston area and have outdoor fruit trees (not citrus). should be a good experiment.
9. Yea! Great discussion so far. My household technically supports England as my husband really works (telecommutes) in the UK most days and most of his co-workers are English. I think we could see some good effort from the Czech Republic and from Poland this year, too. As always, Sweden could be good for a few upsets. I think Germany will be tough and I believe the French are really looking for a rally. BUT I always keep an eye on the Italians - I'm a US fan and I think the Italians play a "very different" style (ahem). Frankly, spousal work obligations aside, HUP HOLLAND!
10. Oh definitely! 'cept Euro cup is all boys. boo. But the US women's team is in the Olympics and our boys didn't qualify! woot to the women!
11. I told him I was gathering data regarding my "injury". I'm a researcher by profession.
12. Yahoo! One of the few sporting events I really really love! Who's watching? Who's your favorite? I can't wait! (and I love the olympics too! but no US football there this year - boo.)
13. You are 100% right. And yes, we all deserve a smack upside the head for it. Especially given I was handed those weights for a prone shoulder exercise the other night. Good call!!!
14. Oh, drat. I was hoping this was a new beer or tequila or something.... No, it's not fasting. I'd stay away from it. On rest days, eat protein, veg, a little fat, maybe lower carbs than work days. Eat real food. Your body wants/needs real food. I stay away from pre-processed foods.
15. I should add that he referenced a lab coat, sterile gloves, and safety glasses too - none of which I wear in my job. LOL.
16. Last night I was telling my husband about the crazy ab/back stuff I did with WMAT on Tues (with a weighted vest - all back weighted. Gah!). Husband: What did you do to piss him off? Me: Nothing!!! Husband: You must have done something. Did you take him kale again? Me: yes..... I harvested 5 bags of kale from the garden on Monday and can't eat them all (spousal unit out of town), so I often take kale to WMAT. LOL.
17. Hunched over desks in office boxes/cubes is TERRIBLE! Thank goodness for kettlebells, PVC pipes, foam rollers and the great outdoors! Yea crossfit!!!! so glad you're enjoying it.
18. That's not baby steps, chicka! That's some serious stomping!!! Whoo hoo!!! Good for you!!! How did it go?
19. My trainer called me a nerd last night.... LOL
20. Today's workout: 20 mi on bike in 00:56:30. Not bad. Is mostly on stationary bike but I've got good resistance on it. Pretty pleased. Oh yeah, and foam roller. foam roller, foam roller, foam roller.
21. is funnier than 3lb weights...
22. Given I can DL 225, Squat 205, and BP 115, he told me to get serious. Which, honestly, made me laugh even harder. I'm a wreck at training when I think something is funny.
23. AWESOME! That's great! Wow - the kids must be thrilled! You can use the doughnut for a lemonade holder... I'm stuck doing a lot of swimming right now. I do it like a dork though and have goggles and the swim cap thing going on... Looks pretty funny.
24. floating in the pool would probably feel awesome. AND you can take the doughnut! Bonus! I don't know how moving around will feel. For me a combination of weight bearing and sitting hurt for a good week or so then sitting only for another week and then I was back to normal more or less. Pool might help b/c of the water and weight dispersion. Although I might think bouncing in the water could hurt? I say "tie a noodle around your middle and go for it!". and take the doughnut....
