  1. Have you looked into making your own veggie burgers? A home made black bean burger would be tasty, high in protein, and could be prepared ahead of time. Mixed nuts are a high protein snack that don't require any prep at all. If you require more protein than a normal veggie diet offers(which is plenty of protein for the average person) than I would get a hold of some protein powder and mix it into a fruit smoothie.
  2. But if determining which cravings to listen to is based completely on predetermined notions of what is or isn't healthy than what is the point of listening to them at all? Shouldn't you just follow the guidelines of a healthy eating plan? Especially since the health benefits of those foods (such as meat) are questionable, and are at the least not necessary for a healthy diet.
  3. How do you differentiate between so called good cravings and bad cravings? It always seems to me to be based on predetermined notions of what is healthy and what isn't.
  4. Should I drink soda too since my body craves that?
  5. Milk and other dairy products are very calorie dense. A lot of times vegetarians seem to replace meat products with cheese. I would recommend cutting all the dairy out and seeing how that helps with calories.
  6. Its a lot easier to eat less calories when you cut out animal products. (They are much more calorie dense) So I second the person who said to make sure you are eating enough calories.
  7. A million times this. Soreness won't really tell you how hard you should be working out.
  8. I eat a vegan diet. I have no interest in being a raw vegan though. lol I love the idea of keeping food close at hand!
  9. I don't agree with Dave Ramseys politics at all. But I am a fan of his program. Its really tough to follow being a full time student. At this point I make sure and stick to a zero sum budget while trying to put away what little I can into savings.
  10. To mimic what was said earlier, I've switched most of my potato chip eating with pretzels. I can knock out a bag of chips without noticing but have usually had my fill of pretzels after one handful.
  11. I've done a little bit of yoga in the past but had some questions as I consider incorporating it into my routine. What kind of goals are realistic from the practice of yoga? I would assume flexibility, peace of mind, relaxation, and maybe endurance. But what about strength or fat loss? If I already do a body weight circuit would it be beneficial to add yoga? If so should I do it on off days or will this result in over training? Thanks for the help.

  13. Hey everyone, Been browsing the blog for awhile now. Got tired of being skinnyfat and have started the beginner bodyweight routine. Thought it might be a good idea to get involved with a community of nerds who are into fitness. A little bit about me, I'm studying Geology(Science FTW) I also work as much as I can and spend the little free time I have remodeling my little house. I'm vegan, play the occasional video game when I have the chance, and enjoy hiking. Also during school breaks I really enjoy playing DnD! Anyway, I'm excited to begin interacting with this community.
