  1. I like that! Maybe I should get one after all!
  2. Red Stone!!! Welcome to the Druids! This sounds fantastic, and something I would like to explore in a future life when I have some knowledge/practice of martial arts. Looking forward to your pics! That is a beautiful challenge progress page! So creative! I'm afraid my BuJo is 99% words, mostly in list format.
  3. Ouch! I hope you feel better soon, but do give your body time to heal.
  4. Do you have a thermos cup? Changed my life! Good luck with your challenge and welcome to the Druids!
  5. I don't think they are vague, just not pre-planned to a T. Being flexible is a good thing, as long as you have some parameters to guide you - and you do (frequency, examples of activities, etc.) Good luck!
  6. That's some stubbornness! Welcome back Butternut!
  7. Great challenge, and theme for 2018. When thinking about moving, I've been inspired by the books of Katy Bowman (Move Your DNA, Movement Matters, etc.) - I love that you're including a house move as well! Good luck!
  8. Make sure you have some protein and fat to keep you satiated longer. Carbs (especially without fat which would slow down their absorption) stimulate insulin which mops up all the blood glucose and you're left needing to replenish it a.s.a.p. Great challenge, BTW! Good luck!
  9. This is exactly what's going on with my MIL at the moment, except it's not early-onset (she's 84) and she lives in another country (so across the border shenanigans). I hope it all goes well for your family, and ours.
  10. Good luck with your challenge! I'm with the Druids for the Reiki and energy work, but would love to get into yoga, Tai Chi and Qi Gong. This year I can only find time for an occasional YT session, but by 2019 I should be able to prioritise at least one of the disciplines/arts.
  11. Oh, I never thought of this - thank you!
  12. Going well currently, except I just realised I won't be able to get to the gym more than once this week due to unbreakable commitments. Well, to be honest, I think that this month the sum of HIIT + gym = 3 per week, realistically. I just won't have time for more sessions, at least until the 21st. Radiotherapy is a daily thing, set at different times, meaning I have to juggle my work hours - luckily, my boss has been very supportive - and also that I cannot rely on a daily/weekly routine. I have to see how it goes, but I shall go with the flow.
  13. How exciting! When are you hoping to move in?
  14. Thanks for this, @charlomechfry! I reached Mordor last year and am on my way back to the Shire... Just walking to work and the gym.
  15. Good luck! You can do this! "Inch by inch, it's a cinch; yard by yard, it is hard". (Funnily enough, for me it worked better the cold turkey way, down to 20 grams of carbs daily. I started at slightly over your current weight and with full blown type 2 diabetes some 2.5 years ago.)

In 2018 I want to do some things, I have to do other things, and I have to have some things done to me. I hope to sail through all of those in a state of flow.
  17. Good luck with your new challenge! Have you quantified this? How many times per week/challenge? 2 minutes or 30 minutes (or 2 hours?) - they all have their place, as long as you know what constitutes a successfully met goal.
  18. That does sound like an awesome opportunity! Asia? Aus? Somewhere you've been already, or some place completely new? So exciting! Good luck with your new challenge!
  19. Good luck! Have you decided which days you're going to have your sodas? I find it useful to have a day/time to look forward to, like with your Monday food reward.
  20. Hope your ankle is better soon!
  21. Good luck with the challenge! Also, can you let us know what you like about your Fitbit? I know quite a few people that abandoned theirs, I'd like to hear from someone who's enjoying it!
  22. I noticed that there will be 2 Blue moons quite close this year, one in January and one in March. Reflections are essential to identifying the correct path ahead. Good luck!
  23. BTW, I am avoiding these as eating veggies (and liver!) provides me with plenty of vitamins in their natural form, with all the supporting natural compounds that cannot be replicated in a synthesised product. Cheap versions of the multi may not have bio-available vitamins, and the expensive versions are, well, expensive and not as good as real food. But if you're unable to eat/absorb plenty of veg, multivits are still better than nothing!
  24. Yes, I should do that more often I've done a lot of research, and now it's time to see what really works for me. The priority is real food, lots of rainbow colours (at least 6 servings of varied veggies per day, including cruciferous, green, purple, red/orange and alliums); fermented garlic+ginger; broccoli and other sprouted seeds; powdered healing mushrooms. This is mostly inspired by the Wahls protocol. Then, my normal supplements - krill oil, Vit D (few times a week, outside of the summer months), magnesium after weight lifting, occasional probiotics. Recently added turmeric in a capsule (with black pepper) and a liver supporting herbal capsule Now, the side effects of hormone therapy include: - fatigue/ low energy - to try CoQ10 (ubiquinol form); alpha lipoic acid (ALA-R); maca powder; more Mg; gluthatione - liver damage - milk thistle tincture; ACV - weight gain - chromium; L-glutamine; cinnamon (I add it to my coffee already), in addition to strict keto/IF This last section is to be experimented with, not all at the same time I hasten to add! OK, that is a lot of supplements, but I have needs Sign me up! I was so impressed as a young teen, first reading Herbert. I still quote "Seek freedom and become a captive of your desires; seek discipline and find your liberty"
