  1. Just add whatever makes you happy (or whatever needs using up out of the fridge, unfortunately that's normally my inspiration lol). I tried some chicken that I had foil baked with lemon, lime and some spices. I just chopped it up and put it in and it was awesome.
  2. I've never thought about that, that's such a good idea. I'm on uni holidays at the moment but I have early classes when I start back and that would be perfect. So easy to pull on out of the freezer heat it up and run. Thank you for that idea!!
  3. Hey everyone super new to NF and have been directed to this forum by some lovely people I'm 185cm and my starting weight was 120kg but since everyone talks in pounds gimme a sec..... 6'1" and 264.5 pounds my ideal weight (I had I play around my with BMI) is around 150 pounds. I've lost 13 pounds already but my weight keeps fluctuating a lot and I don't know why. I am drinking a lot of water definitely more than my body is used too and my period is in a few days not sure if that will have any impact on it. I also measured myself when I started and I've lost about 2cm or 0.78 inches+ from everywhere I measured. So at least something is happening regardless of what the scales are saying to me. I've started using My Fitness Pal and tracking all my calories and that really woke me up on the damage I am doing to my body and how much something I didn't think was necessarily unhealthy for me really was. I've upped my veggie intake and during the day if I'm craving a snack I will grab and orange and eat that which works really well for me. Although now that I'm eating more veggies and protein throughout the day and not just at dinner time I find that I am no longer feeling the need to snack all day. Which is amazing (Cause I am a snacker!) I also have given myself the treat of being allowed to have one serving of dark hazelnut chocolate for dessert. Definitely keeps me motivated to be good, looking forward to that piece of chocolate all day. Exercise wise I have been trying to get on the elliptical and do that every day but actually found a 15minute high-intensity strength training video and did that yesterday. I was dying but I was loving it!! And I got to do it at home with nothing but a chair which was even better. Apparently I worked off 250 calories in the workout but because it's strength training or HIIT (can't remember which one maybe both?) but you keep burning calories even after you've finished the workout so that's a big yes from me and I'll be doing that again today. Also thinking of working in a yoga video as well on my off days. Anyway yea that's a lot of talking from me but I just wanted to share and feel accountable to keep up what I've said I'm doing. If anyone needs motivation or a Sister-In-Arms please message me I would love one too! Thanks Kiah

  5. Definitely didn't mean to offend I apologise
  6. Hey guys, I'm super new to Nerd Fitness and have just started my fitness plan myself. Looking to lose a large amount of weight and become a healthier happier person. Looking for someone to come on this journey with me so we can inspire each other and keep each other going. Also great to just have someone to chat with about your achievements and your misses. If you're looking for someone to please hit me up as I would love to go on this journey with you Thanks! Kiah
  7. I like making my own fast food versions of meals at home and that really helps me with cravings. For example I love making my own pizzas bases and all and they are so much healthier than the takeout versions and I still feel like I'm getting a treat. The other day I made one with so many veggies on it that I could only eat two slices! (keep in mind I can eat one whole takeout pizza). Another one I love doing is making my own burgers. I use lean mince and heaps of spices to make it super yummy the plus side of this is you can put all your favourites on it for something special (I love adding halloumi on mine and it makes it feel like such a treat). I haven't done it before but you could totally do this with Thai food as well and it would be awesome. Really you could do it with any takeout and make it heaps healthier at home. Anyway doing this makes it heaps easier to say no to getting takeaway I guess cause I dont feel like Im missing out on anything. Really I prefer the home version cause I don't feel terrible afterwards! Hope everything is going well for you
  8. Hey I agree with what's posted above. Unfortunately you are enabling her, and even though she's family... no especially cause she's family she's gotta stop Family should support you when you make choices to better yourself in any aspect especially diet where it's easy for them to not bring unhealthy food into your house. I think you need to say something nicely and see what happens. With the money issues could you tell her you have no money for her to use? I do that with people sometimes when they ask too much and it works. She can't spend what you say you don't have. Hope things get better soon
  9. Don't have a recipe for you but I have seen people who roast chickpeas (garbanzo beans) and they go really crispy sort of into a chips/popcorn alternative. I've been thinking about trying it out too see how it goes (I love anything and everything crunchy). If you do it first let me know and vice versa
  10. Started my weight loss journey very recently and found this recipe super useful and filling aka I can eat it at 8 and not be hungry till like 1. It's basically scrambled eggs with a whole bunch of yummiest thrown in. 2 eggs Handful or so of spinach 3 small slice of hot chorizo finely diced (adding this is great because it's super flavourful you only need a little but adds so much to the meal) 1 slice of ham Garlic powder (again packs a punch of flavour with little calories) Salt and Pepper Add to hot pan and cook like you would normal scrambled eggs. I love this meal and it keeps me so full for ages. Sometimes I add an orange with it if I only have one egg. But its all up to you add more veggies if you want I'm thinking of trying out zucchini and broccoli. Live long and prosper friends Kiah Also I'm looking for a partner in crime for my weight loss journey, so if you're looking for one to send me a message
  11. Looking for a brother or sister in arms. Basically an accountability partner who I can share my triumphs and fails with and who will do the same with me! Would love a buddy or buddies to share advice with and hear their advice. Please message me if you're looking for someone too!
