  1. Looking back through my original goals I did great with everything! I am not where I wanted to be with all my fitness goals but I am super close and I was able to modify where and when needed to deal with my health and injury issues. Next challenge is going to be AWESOME!!!
  2. I also found that wall push ups are better for me
  3. So proud of myself for not giving up in the face of some pretty difficult circumstances in this challenge. I was able to step up and make a good deal of progress. I might not be where I wanted to be but I took what life gave me and I faced it head on!
  4. Inflammation is much better and I am getting back on track. Got in 3.5 miles last night and 45 minutes of yoga/strength training today. sounded like a bowl of rice crispies during jumping jacks but no pain or numbness. I've also done a ton of socializing this week which is huge for me! Been eating gluten free and getting plenty of fruit but need to go to the store for more fresh veggies. AC was out on and off so I haven't been cooking much. Making progress in playing with the kids more. We set up some boards outside to walk on and jump over. Pressing on!
  5. This is what I fell stacking up well I can't get it to post
  6. So the longer story is that one day my arm was hurting and by day 3 I started having popping and severe pain in my shoulders, knees, hips, feet, and hands. I couldn't even walk up the stairs to my back door it hurt so bad. I kept pushing and kept getting worse so I stopped. Focused on cutting gluten back out to see if it was the cause of the inflammation and slowly have been getting better. We had several table orders so I was trying not to do extra lifting/ strength training so I would be able to do all of that. When we went to pick up the wood from the store my knee started hurting again but wasn't too bad after resting. Finally the next day I was able to help do the heavy lifting. I did fall of the trailer and bruised up my leg pretty bad but that's no big deal. Hoping to get back out there now that I feel better and we have kicked out three of our table orders. Very proud for not having too big of a pity party and not giving up. I gave myself and my body the time it needed and focused and nourishing foods and cutting out gluten.
  7. Thanks for checking! I need to do a more detailed update but long story short I went from just my arm to every joint in my body hurting. Getting better now but it's been brutal! Been focusing on healing and dietary changes to help with inflammation.
  8. So you are "that guy" lol braiding doesn't have to take long. When I braid mine I do it super quick just to get out of the way. It might not be pretty but it's functional. There are plenty of YouTube videos out there on braiding.
  9. Thanks! After sitting and looking at ALL my symptoms even the seemingly not related and looking at my food log, I think it's actually a gluten issue instead of just an injury issue. I haven't been eating it lately and this week I have and these symptoms came back with a vengeance. Going to try and heal and focus on nutrition and go from there.
  10. My arm has getting worse since Tuesday. Think I might have a pinched nerve. Taking it easy a couple of days and then will see how it feels.
  11. Feeling better but my arm still hurts :(

  12. Wow! Real lava, sounds amazing! Glad you got to tell us about it though instead of the news
  13. Think I might have pushed too far and now my arm hurts really bad. Next couple of days I am going to take it easier.
  14. This is not good. My arm started hurting during my 3 mile walk yesterday and it's gotten worse. My OCD tends to take my brain to a bad place but I think it's just an injury. Going to take it easier for a couple of days to see how I feel. Did 20 minutes of yoga this morning being careful not to put weight on my arm and then did 10 minutes of strength training without putting weight on my arm. Mostly body weight squats, and lunges, and used the little 5 pound Dumbbells which actually helped stretch out and felt good. It hurts again now but hopefully rest will help. I tried heat but think I need to try ice next. I will update my challenge if I have in fact injured it. I think maybe I just did too many reps Monday.
  15. I'm in Houston. Feel free to shoot me a pm. As far as paleo-ish places to eat I really don't know. I don't go out that often and when I do it's for burgers or pizza lol
  16. This is what I ended up doing. I can braid the top and with some help of Bobby pins it stays completely out of the way.
  17. And yes I am doing knee push ups.
  18. Thanks!!! I tried elevated push-ups and freaked out! Might try a pillow or at least a rolled up towel. Used to falling occasionally in a random yoga pose and never actually gotten hurt so not sure what the hang up is. I just kind of freeze. It's definitely an anxiety issue
  19. I can't do IF as I have been pregnant and/or nursing for 11 years. I will occasionally have a very small or late breakfast. I pretty much do cheat moments as well. For the longest time we have gotten 2 whole pizzas at Costco for our weekly grocery trip. We have started getting croissants, and rotisserie chicken instead. I have that with a bunch of veggies and feel just fine about the croissant. Also I am a fry addict but found that I can make some ridiculously tasty homemade sweet potato fries and it hits the spot. Having good food in the house definitely helps! Also been making burgers at home with no bun to satisfy the burger craving. Cheaper and better! I also had a root beer this weekend and was able to enjoy it knowing how much good raw food I had eaten.
  20. These are my goals Goal 1- fitness been doing great but it's time to level up. Currently at 5 modified push-ups- goal 5 non-modified push-ups currently walking approximately 2 miles in 30 minutes. Goal 3 miles in 45 minutes at least once a week (I will work on time when the heat index isn't over 100 and the other walk days can be 1.5 to 2 miles) currently doing yoga 15-30 minutes 6 days depending on if it's a weight day. Goal 45 minutes on non weight days with one day completely off. currently doing 10-20 15 lb weighted lunges and squats x 2- goal- consistently do 20x2 currently at 10-15 second plank goal 30 yoga goal nail four limbs pose and hold 20 seconds Goal 2- nutrition continue to eat lots of fruits and veggies very little sugar Goal 3- community talk to at least 2 people IRL per week(not living with me) post here 3 times per week Goal 4- internal be kind to myself, no room for guilt for time for healing and strength get up between 6:30-7:00 to center myself Goal 5- family play more, yell less Sunday off
  21. I feel you, I too struggle with not believing in myself. We can do this!
  22. Did 16 minutes of yoga and 45 minutes of strength training. Managed a 30 second plank twice! Bumped up to 10 modified push-ups. Fear is keeping me from doing a regular push-up. I'm always afraid of falling on my face. It's a crazy hang up I need to get past. Getting better at four limbs pose as well. Attempted four limbs staff pose and it didn't turn out so well. I fell but at least I tried, right?! Doing great on nutrition but need to go to the store for more produce and eggs. Woke up a little late this morning but still got up and got my workout done and the house clean. Going for a walk later. Unfortunately it's raining but it should be fine.
  23. Mine is just really short but extra thick. Finally gave up and had the stud-hubs shave my sides and back. He likes me with short hair though and would love it if I shaved it. My hair was about an inch and a half long all over when we first met so I think that's how he always thinks of me. I think female standards in general are crazy especially with anything fashion related.
  24. I am so glad you said that! I've been doing mountain climbers wrong all along! They are way easier than I thought
