11/26/18 Beginning Slow Carb Diet (SCD). Choosing SCD because it is the most conducive to my busy life, budget, and the people I split the grocery bill with. It isn't far from how I eat now (I mean the content is different but the very repetitive nature is not different) so I believe I will actually be able to stick with it. It also makes the most sense in making small changes and I think a lot of the suggested meals are well within my cooking skills range. I found a gym buddy! I don't use the machines but going to the gym to work out I find really helps me stay accountable and do things more regularly. I also don't have much space in my house and am a million times more likely to see the couch and not do the thing. Saving up for a Rising Heroes subscription! Feeling intensely insecure, however, and still hoping for more community. Current goals: continue to slowly change to slow carb diet, continue current work out, fitness/wellness education, and make small steps in building community. -
Hello! So I am re-spawning and hoping for some dope accountability. Current fictional goal: any of the BA characters from Brandon Sanderson novels. Nerdy areas: Brandon Sanderson, British Lit, Book Worm, fantasy novels/life, LOTR (beginning). So my real life goals: - GW: 125-135 lbs, CW: 192 - Long term food goal: Be on paleo diet+ intermittent fasting, current goal: Intermittent fasting with *better* food choices/conscientiousness. Before today: ate 3x a day, mostly carbs, too much sugary caffeinated beverages (lattes with extra vanilla). Not enough water, definitely not meeting veggie goal. - Overall fitness: I want to be able to do what I set my mind too without getting tired after 3 minutes. I don't have any specific goals yet because I am just beginning to try out different ways to be active. Real life challenges: - Live with parents (in college) and that makes grocery supplies limited - I tend to be a perfectionist and thus if I am not perfect I get paralyzed - I loathe veggies - I adore pasta - No real accountability system set up Please give me goal adjustment or setting suggestions and tell em about your thread!

Hello there! So I literally took a huge break for the past year as my mental health severely declined and I have been fighting to stabilize. (Yay! I have!) Now I am ready to rumble. What I am looking for: - Accountability -Information Sharing -Encouragement Goals: - Goal weight 125-135 -CW: 192 - Learn to eat veggies - Jog/run 1 miles -Bike 5 miles -Beginners Yoga - Just *feel* good and more able to be active I am currently using habatica as my habit forming and tracking app and I love it! Currently trying intermittent fasting but struggling filling my "feasting" time with healthy foods as I loathe veggies. I do fencing once a week, swing dancing once a week, and am trying to get into the habit of cardio and strength training on alternate days respectively.

Update: I did not do as well as I would have liked but I didn't completely fail either. Diet: So in reality I only ate a veggie every other day.The idea of eating a vegetable every day freaked me out so I found excuses (boo) to avoid it. This week I tried spaghetti squash. It actually surprised me with how tasty it was! One night I had chicken breast mixed in with spaghetti squash and I was delighted to find how delicious it was and how filling! Next week I am thinking of experimenting with mushrooms (technically a fungus) and spinach. I am still a little skeptical of calorie counting but I have decided to give it a try for these next couple weeks. I have my caloric intake set for 1,300 per day. Truth be told: I totally avoided drinking black coffee. I fell into the habit if saying "but I really need it today..." Sigh. No need to fear though! I have deleted my Starbucks app and thrown out my creamer. It will be sooo hard to avoid my goals now. Fitness: Very rough. I find that I am discouraged so very easily. The hardest thing within my mindset is that I feel if I don't immediately improve I have failed. Then to avoid failing I avoid trying. That's just silly. So I have added a a "Mindset" goal for these next four weeks. I also want to mix in some cardio soon. Level Up Your Life: Spending less time on social media: both easy and hard. I got a new job which was very demanding so it was easy to just work and get off my phone. What was difficult was when I finally had down time I had to try and choose to be productive over scrolling on Facebook. One thing I find about Facebook is I am constantly being spammed with negative news, people arguing, being told I am not enough in one facet or another. I definitely want to transition to being away from it completely. I feel it will be better for my overall mental health. While I haven't yet added ten extra minutes to my sleep (starts tonight) I took the week to really focus on how much sleep made me feel rested/more tired. I focused on amassing quality sleep and it felt AMAZING. I have actually slept healthy amounts every single night and finally understand why the "sleep is overrated" mentality is so harmful and bad. I haven't meditated every day. Its been spotty at best. However last night while attempting to meditate again I finally found my rhythm. In previous attempts at meditating I tried to entire right into my "happy space" and I found myself anxiously thinking over everything I should be doing. However last night, I found that I can calm myself first to allow my mind to clear by focusing on my breathing and only my breathing. I am so stoked to meditate again. Mindset: Try to go easy on myself. Realize that if I don't get something right away its not because I am a failure. Rather its a blessing because it means I can do better, try harder, and become more. Thank you for all your comments and support! There's nothing more I love than to have community. All comments and questions and shared tips and challenges are appreciated.

Hello I never even thought to sit down and think about what "in shape" meant to me. You have brought up an excellent point. I think right now to be "in shape" I would like to be able to enjoy basic athletic activities without dying. From there I think my goals will be more specific. However I do have some goals that would qualify for being more in shape. I want to lose 40 pounds (recently gained, all fat), be able to bike five miles or jog a couple miles without dying, have a better body fat percentage, and be regularly eating in a healthy, nutritious way. Right now I want to lose the fat and gain some muscle so I can further determine my goals! Thank you
