  1. Folks, I started! I completely emptied my freezer and took four bags of frozen food to the food bank. I threw out two garbage bags. I'm working on my hallway closet now.
  2. Yeah. Those parts of my brain don't talk to each other rationally, lol. I think "crap to take care of" is all the stuff that I keep in storage and don't actually use. Figuring out what would be useful down the line is probably the cognitive load that I'm avoiding doing hehe.
  3. Mostly I want to not feel like I have so much crap to take care of. I want to be lighter. This move is starting over in a lot of ways, and I don't want to let me stuff drag me down. Thanks Snarky!
  4. That makes so much sense, Scaly Freak. I think I have similar side effects from when my parents divorced and we left with just a car full of belongings. My father threw everything else into the barn to rot. Didn't realize that that was still affecting me. Great question. I think I'm also keeping things so that I have them "just in case".
  5. Good, I need some motivation and accountability with the decluttering. I'm still 0/0 with that one. 😕 I'm moving 1200+ miles! I just looked it up right now. Wheee! I'm moving into the metro area too!!!!
  6. LOL. Hem. Erm. I'm glad we could all come to a mutually beneficial arrangement.
  7. Prefect Tank, Please meet with Groundskeeper Snarky at your earliest convenience to discuss the removal of the chocolate frogs. May your bushes grow lustrously! Professor Annyshay Prefect Scaly Freak, You are most welcome. Thank you for continued diligence and discipline. I'm just glad that the pet toads in question were not destroyed, or worse... eaten. Professor Annyshay
  8. Dear Denizens of Hogwarts, The situation with the chimney in the Slytherin common room has been rectified, however Filch will be moving slower than usual for the forseeable future. I would like to remind all students, staff, and professors that Professor Hagrid's Blast-Ended Skrewts are not meant to be handled outside of the classroom by students and certainly do not belong in enclosed spaces. Below find a report on your progress this last week. Gryffindor - No breathwork happened. Hufflepuff - I did great with this and restocked my supplies at work. Going really well. Ravenclaw - Kept up my daily streak and did a lot more than that. Slytherin - No decluttering yet. Be good to each other, Professor Annyshay.
  9. Prefect Scaly Freak, I will be sure to empress upon Filch the importance of cleaning that particular chimney again. Perhaps it's time that I oversee the affair with a bit closer eye. I apologize again for the delay! Professor Annyshay
  10. Hiya Camper! I went in 2016 and am super looking forward to 2022. Goals look great. We'll cheer you along! Tarot? Do you have a favorite card?
  11. I'm an infectious disease doctor, and I've been in hospitals for about... 12 years, though I work in clinics also, so it's not all the time.
  12. Hi Jessebel! Your goals are awesome and I am totally enamored of the idea of an occupational therapist slash samurai. That's an awesome motivation! I also work in the hospital with COVID-19 patients and all the others, and to you I say - thank you for all you do!
  13. Hi Survivor! Welcome welcome! Goals look great and slightly ambitious. Here to see you kick some serious butt!
  14. *gets a to-go ginger chai from the barkeep* *goes to find EG in the corn maze* *squeaks and jumps even though she totally saw Mr_Willes and Happienumber as soon as she turned the corner* This is great fun! Hi all!
  15. Professor Annyshay Gryffindor Yew wood with a Unicorn hair core, 10 ¾", and reasonably supple flexibility. Patronus - Irish Wolfhound. Favorite Object - Quill. Favorite Place - Hogwarts Library. Favorite Creature - Phoenix. Favorite Subject - Charms It makes sense to return to Hogwarts because wherever I may roam, Hogwarts is my home.
  16. Hello witches and wizards, and welcome back to Hogwarts this September! I'm Professor Annyshay, the current headmistress of Hogwarts. You've been sorted into your houses and are ready to tuck into a delicious feast. Now it's time for me to say a few brief words before we start the term. This year the houses will be working together to support general wellbeing. Gryffindor = Breathwork It takes courage for me to be present in my body without trying to change anything. Breathwork can be anywhere from 5-30 minutes. I'm aiming to do it most days of the week. Hufflepuff = Snacks I ten to skip snacks and go too long between meals and then get a bit shaky. I'm going to be more intentional about aiming to have a morning and afternoon snack. Ravenclaw = Writing I'm trying to get back into the habit of creative writing, but this will start with keeping my streak on 4thewords.com. That means writing 444 words a day. Slytherin = Decluttering Since I'm moving across country, I need to be ruthless with my possessions and get rid of the things that don't truly bring me joy. I'm going to try to do at least 15 minutes of decluttering each day. More details will come as you go through your time here, but for now... let's eat!
  17. Wednesday 8/31/2021 - mindset pack/morning ritual (some joy journaling, some witchery, and some intention setting) - movement is currently on the back burner due to high resistance and stress levels - used my Best Self Journal - gratitude and setting targets for the day - ate my meals and had an afternoon snack - played Terraforming Mars online in the evening This is about where I'm at baseline at the moment. I'm excited to jump in with the next challenge, but not sure what goals I actually want to work on. My resistance levels are so high that it's hard to make even little changes at the moment. Seems weird to start a maintenance challenge right after coming back. I'll keep noodling on it.
  18. Yes. Very very necessary. They made leaving a big issue and gaslighted me about it. It's kind of just sad at this point...
