  1. What's already been said x10 - breaking old habits or starting new ones start with a commitment. These are 2 good articles straight from Nerd Fitness Blog: http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2012/06/04/new-habits/ http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2012/09/04/power-of-habit/
  2. You should be able to pick up the jist of it from this video : Some more movements : It's basically doing exercises on all fours (similar to elementary style workouts with crab walks and such) and making them flow together. I bet it's harder to get at first, but like most things, can be done easier and even with some improvisation once you get the moves down. Hope this helps.
  3. Interesting talk - make sure you watch it all the way through - this is 15 minutes of showing the differences between what a true paleo diet was 10,000-30,000 years ago versus what is being called paleo now. The biggest differences between the foods that were eaten then and what we eat now - a lot of our 'natural' food is actually the product of agriculture. The rest of the talk speaks highly of what the paleo diet embraces and what it is at it's core. Just something I found interesting while casually browsing at work today.
  4. Up to date - Yesterday and Today were done together due to lack of priority yesterday. 47 when you're supposed to do 24 makes for a rough pre-lunch set. But working from home this week means I can do that without having to find an empty conference room. 24% of days down = 6% of Burpess completed with 300/5050 - math makes me feel bad. I'm 24% done with the challenge and math is like 'Well, sort of...' Anyway - time to cook some bacon and see what else is left in the fridge for lunch.
  5. Bleh - that sounds terrible - Get better soon! On that note I missed Saturday and made them up Yesterday...I know what day 39 is going to feel like now. No more missing days for me.
  6. 16% of days and 2.69% of burpees complete (maths!) Did mine this morning today (6:30ish) before breakfast and getting ready for work. Great way to start a day.
  7. 15 this morning (8/7) my legs didn't want to like me today. Probably all the Rabbids :Alive and Kicking last night.
  8. Trying my best to not break the chain. 14 days down - 86 to go.
  9. In - 10 tonight it looks like...those last 10 days are going to be interesting.
  10. *GASP* Work has made my response too slow - was out foxed by BigM http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2012/01/09/warm-up/ http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2012/01/16/how-to-stretch/ How to warm up and how to stretch. Just some extra ideas from Steve - no need to do all of it at any give time (unless doing workout) but some good static and dynamic stretches.
  11. Nice man! - I'm working up to this right now as well. For those wanting to learn - this video is what I'm going from - definitely good advice, from wrist strength/flexibility to working up to the handstand:
  12. Okay so - how are we going to find each other tomorrow? Just wondering. Not sure how many people/teams run at a time You can pm - i have to get back to work but will check again tonight.
  13. Goals reached (And exceeded, and still have a $20 check to write) And Yes to a T-Shirt - Mens Large would be awesome. I'm down for not running the whole thing - but definitely making the whole course. Is there a definite address for the event? I don't remember seeing one last time I looked (but I was on my phone...)
  14. Woo - just got done working out and felt like bumping this thread up. I know my fundraising looks nil - I just need to send the check for what I've collected (and have a few people who should do it online this weekend).
  15. Yadda Yadda, same as above, yadda yadda, brainwashing. I don't have a gym membership so I wouldn't know. Maybe go Jehovah's Witness(no offense to any JW's on here) on someone at the gym - only instead of religion bust out the truth behind lifting weights and gain a workout buddy. That's awesome, I know a girl from high school who would lift more than the average guy - she was pretty awesome (and a beast in volleyball).
