  1. It's the end of week 1! Diet Eat more proteins: I did a bit better than before, with my fat consumption dropping from 40% to 30%, and protein hitting an all time high of 38% one day this week. It's not perfect but it's better. I found smoked tempeh (from tofurky I believe) and the thing is tasty. Also, yay savoury breakfasts! I had two this week and I felt full and didn't have the 10am hunger despair. I need to stick to it. One sugary treat per week. No more. Let's be honest. I failed this challenge this week. I failed it hard; had sugar nearly everyday. Reasons range from I'm hungry to "oh god this meeting lasts forever and look there's a chocolate biscuit right in front of my face". Move on, get better is my mantra for the weeks to come. Fitness Complete a yoga routine twice a week. I did it! I found these amazing online videos from Yoga with Adriene, and it's so nice to be able to do it at home. I've been quite active this week actually with one core day, one arm day, lots of walking down the seafront and my two yoga routines (one on Wednesday and one today). Next week will be pretty much the same - I want to try the NF body workout, too! Level Up Your Life Save up everyday. It was payday week and I treated myself to two lunches out and a massage. Not many trips to the shops for snacks, and I just saved another £100 away for my upcoming trip to Italy. Next week's goal: bills and food money only. I am really happy about the Fitness challenge and less happy about the sugar one; overall it's a work in progress and can only get better from now on!
  2. Hi @GardenGeek! The sugar might sound drastic but my PT made me quit sugar overnight when starting our program and it was hell, and I relapsed as soon as the programme ended , so I'm just trying to find my balance! Re shopping break, I'm bringing my lunch and a book and have a ton of podcasts to listen to, so I can beat this!
  3. Thank you both! @Vibrantella, I do eat eggs and dairy yes I need to be more creative with it!
  4. Thanks @ajoylucid! I have posted my first challenge - exciting!
  5. Hi all, First challenge below! Diet Eat more proteins - I'm a pescetarian and my protein consumption is low; I'm tracking my meals via MyFitnessPal and I need 40% protein daily. One sugary treat per week. No more. Fitness Complete a yoga routine twice a week. Level Up Your Life Save up everyday. Do I really need a trip to the shop during lunchtime for an afternoon snack? I will report regularly
  6. Good morning all! I made it here - I have decided to be strong and to commit for once and for all. So here I am. Hi, I'm Veeee! I turned 30 earlier this year, and realised that, for the last 20 years, I was not happy with my body. I had numerous attempts at keeping fit and eating the right things (I'm a pescetarian, carbs have been my best comfort friends for as long as I can remember). I started running two years ago, and completed a 10k in April (12-year-old me still doesn't understand how). However, my body was still chubby and running got a little bit difficult so I trained with a PT for six weeks; the programme ended two weeks ago. I lost 8 pounds. It was an eye opening experience, the PT definitely helped me seeing my strengths among the weaknesses! We worked on bodyweight and strength exercises, I love kettlebells, barbells and dumbells (less happy with squats and planks!); but the diet aspect of the training was the most difficult for me. Not being able to eat rice, quinoa, lentils, pulses or sweet potatoes, which were staples of my day to day life, was a bit of a nightmare. I eat a bit of eggs, salmon, tuna and cod but it's becoming a bit boring haha. I quit sugar but had a relapse over the weekend, and now I need to get back on track! I can't really afford another six weeks financially, so I figured I could continue on my own - This is where Nerd Fitness enters the game! Very inspiring to read articles about workouts at home and how to navigate a healthy life! So now I'm ready; ready for the quests, the workouts, the "you can do this!", the changes in my food diary. Bring it on! (a bit of numbers: Im 5'1, current weight: 10st 39lbs, body fat %: 44.) Nice meeting you all, any questions let me know! edit because I forgot: my plan exercise wise is to mix running, yoga and strength exercises during the week.
