  1. what's that? you're just gonna happen to be in Mpls the weekend of Dec 13-15? and are gonna take my extra Doomtree Blowout ticket? right on. also: whiskey cures stress. also: yer fuckin' awesome as per usual.
  2. yeah....looks like tweaking my back at work during summer may be more than a muscle/ligament issue.... have a referral name from my fave spine surgeon. in the meantime no squats, deads, overhead press- essentially no lifts that increase axial load. So, bench is going well. HA. i am supposed to be doing bodyweight stuffs to continue increasing core strength and flexibility, but they aren't nearly as fun as lifting, so i've been really slack. and i have a belly! which is kinda awesome because i never have aside from being preggers but also UM WHAT. like, i was actually really enamored of it for a month, but now it's overstayed its welcome but, the weather is cooling quickly which means regular gym schedule instead of this sporadic summer stuff. i might have to buy a swimsuit and see if i remember how to swim properly! oh, i mean, do hollow core holds and other not exciting static stuffs.
  3. oh man! SO MUCH GOOD DISCUSSION in this thread!! ha, every single thing i started to say in my still-imaginary post y'all said! So all i have left is DAMN WALDO!!!! SEXY BEAST MUCH? i mean, i knew you were a badass and have always been nearly as impressed by your avatars as your wisdom, but wowza. <3 GREAT topic, anivair!
  4. Squats still just feel "weak" - plan for tomorrow includes adding back in core type stuffs. Borrrring. But necessary, i think.
  5. Wednesday 21aug 6pm Midway Racks all full; had to git er done to get coolant for my car and bus back to work so no squats. Bench 45# x 5 55 x 5 x 2 60 x 5 55 x 5 x 2 45 x 10 x 3 and time's up
  6. hmmmmmm i am missing a couple workouts.... i had one a week after the last post but no notes. last week: (monday or wednesday? i can't remember) Squat 45# x 5 - 30 sec pause at bottom, atg 55 x 5 x 5 60 x 5 (last 2 reps hips came up a bit) / 5 / 5 Bench 45 x 5 55 x 5 x 5 shoulders really tight! ---------------------------- Monday 730pm 19 August 'hood gym Squat 45 x 10 55 x 5 60 x 5 x 5 Benches were full so OHP 45 x 5 x 5 whaaaat -- the very last two reps my elbows wanted to wing out a bit but i was pretty impressed hahaha. i'll be feeling it tomorrow for sure! Deadlift to work on breaking the hips: from the top 45 x 10 just to work the motion 95 x 10 115 x 3 125 x 3 130 x 2 135 x 2 135 x 0, 0 125 x 2
  7. My problem is that there is not enough of a difference between 50% max and 1RM at the moment hahahaha I HAD TIME TO GO TO THE GYM FOR THE FIRST TIME IN LIKE TWO MONTHS Hooray!!!! 02 August Friday 8pm Midway All things squatty-like were full, so Bench 45# x 10 55 x 5 x 5 45 x 10 45 x 8 felt SO GOOD55# was hard by the end, so i guessed ok in how much to deload heh Squat 45 x 8 55 x 5 x 5 felt horribleform was good - have been doing MWOD#1 and bodyweight squats at home to keep it up, but ever since I tweaked my lumbar spine twisting at work a few months back, squats make me feel weak all over, clammy sweats. I'm assuming, as I did then, that it just means I'll have to get my 'core' solid again before letting my legs push moreI also understand why the doc said No Heavy Lifting Until My Ear Drum Is Fully Healed - i haven't had vertigo on a daily basis for about a week, but still have pressure issues and hearing issues daily - after maybe the second rep of the first set my ear sounded like a fire hydrant was going off inside, and by the last set I was taking pretty long rests to get over the vertigo. Not dizziness, and after weeks of this my body knows it won't fall over, so I kept going but it was not so fun. Deadliftish form work 45 x 10 from the top to practicing breaking at the hips (always the first thing I lose when i haven't lifted in a bit) 95 x 10 95 x 5 - these were definitely 1/1/1/1/1 as by now my ear and my quads were mad at me Hollow core hold x 15s, plank x 30, hollow core x 15 - upper right side abdominal wicked cramping. This used to happen all the time when i very first started, it kinda makes me laugh. But laughing makes me cramp worse so i don't. Today is Monday and I still can't walk right HAHAHAHA. At least DOMS are letting me know that I worked the muscle groups I wanted to Steak and broccoli in the gullet. Yum.
  8. Correct. Too busy to do more than check in on my people here and there Yep, your wife is delicious!
  9. Naw, I think it's the sauce in Chicken Fajita Pitas at Jack in the Box Oh man, sooooo many great memories of the Science center and that IMAX!! I was just thinking about that the other day; that the way I remember the science center in Seattle, it would be an awesome date spot. The science center here, not quite as much.
  10. Oh no! Wow. For someone as active as you, I can imagine it *will* be a challenge! Rooks you're doing great out of the gate as usual
  11. photobucket is kinda a pain sometimes - BUT you can change the size! for me it usually takes going to edit, changing the size, then NOT clicking "replace the original" (so you end up with a copy) for it to post correctly here. Of course the screen shots of you i kept full size. Life size even. They're my wallpaper. In my house. Maybe the outside, too. Chaze stucco. love, swoon, sparkles to your write up.
  12. At least your cat's headbutting just busted your monitor and not your eardrum Although monitors are probably more expensive to fix!
  13. Oh Rooks!!! Your motivation note seriously just made me tear up. You all are gonna be such a beautiful family <3 edit: I mean, rawr. Or some such.
  14. HEY! HEY! OVER HERE! here's the thing about being in your thirties, you feel 29 forever and ever but you accumulate more experiences to make you "wiser". So by the time you hit your 20-nineteenth birthday, you have the energy of your 20's but the mind of the old man you always knew you were
  15. I'm flying you all here all-expenses paid to stream it on a projector screen over the lake with beers and whiskey and steaks.
  16. Yesssssssss. I dig. and, WUT. Not even showerhomebeers? Aw hell no, sister!
  17. It's happened to pretty much everyone I've worked out with. I don't do anything different than normal unless I'm wearing a shirt that is that just-tight-enough-to-chafe size (which is a comfort thing not an appearance thing); I honestly have yet to see anyone staring at myself or other girls, and I don't see anyone staring at the dudes' nipples showing through their shirts. I also find myself smiling with cuteness overload when I see moms breastfeeding in public, so I'm definitely coming from a viewpoint of bodies are bodies, not airbrushed-nippleless-celluliteless cartoons.
  18. j that sounds amazing ugh. bad vertigo due to fluid getting all confused about where it is supposed to be in my ear (oh out of my ear? dripping down my face? sweet). apparently can take several weeks to heal. lame-o. no weights until vertigo is resolved for at least 2 days (partly so i don't fall, partly because vertigo typically resolves when hole closes and am not supposed to do any movement that increases pressure against the ear drum such as nose blowing, val salva, etc). also no vigorous head movements. that one's for chaze. in the meantime i'm getting fluffier around the midsection. FOR REAL. it's kinda sweet, in a really fascinating way, to be gaining weight like a normal human. due to eating crap foods day in and day out during the parental visit, which my body has now shut down and accepted rather than making me feel sick for the first few weeks. so, much as i suspected when this challenge started, i'll be carrying the theme over the remainder of summer. see you all next challenge, eh?!
  19. I punctured my ear drum this morning. In a very not-smart way (but, my ears are sooo itchy cuz of allergiiiiies). Blood galore. Now the left side of my world is very loud ringing, but at least the throbbing pain is fixed by ibuprofen. Whoop whoop! No gym still waaah, was called in to work this morning. Also had to cancel strawberry picking and this might've been the last day this season that we could go. $1.80/pound! Yum! Last year we got 40 pounds Heading out to clean up the yard that looks like a neighborhood party threw all their garbage my way (although, haha, that is actually what happens but my neighbor kids don't do it on purpose). Have a good Saturday, y'all.
