  1. Uh...that's a little unsettling. Take care of yourself and get it checked out if it gets worse.
  2. Zizo, your situation sounds like prison more than uni Maybe try looking out into the community. My grad school had a group that worked in the community garden and would also host dinners for anyone who was willing to help out. Jaimee123 has a good point too. You can keep a lot of healthy foods on hand that don't necessarily need to be cooked or refrigerated.
  3. Good work! (How were the fritters?)
  4. Following along for the writing, Alphonse, and to provide any support I can.
  5. Welcome back Peelout and sorry to hear about the setbacks. Congrats on keeping up with No M and I hope you can snuff out the smoking habit.
  6. Thank you all. I'm going to take another hiatus from the 4-week challenges and from NF (somewhat) to meditate and reflect on my bigger picture. In terms of a mini-update: My wife and I have been doing a bodyweight workout of our own design every-other-day. We're also going to up our game in terms of diet because we had been eating lazy. I did make my own DIY suspension trainer from things I had laying around the house. It needs some minor refinement, but f*** yeah. Drawing from the wisdom of Timothy Ferris, I'm diving into some Stoicism via Seneca (new to me) and Marcus Aurelius (an old friend). I need some guidance in my life and the philosophy is speaking to me right now. My enrichment goal is to finish Seneca's Letters, Aurelius' Meditations, and re-read Tools of Titans by the end of summer. Overall, I want to be more efficient in my life so that I can spend more quality time without spending so much battling the minutia. This community is amazing and I wish all who read this the best in their own quests until I return to the arena.
  7. [Pardon the anachronism] I've been pondering this post. Honestly, I've been dreading writing it because I've backslid on the quest. Not just the challenge, but my goal of becoming a better human. My eating has gone to sh*t quickly...too much, processed foods, and too much sugar (including the skittles I've been tossing back instead of going to eat my sandwich). I also haven't bothered to work out ...really at all... and it's pushing two weeks. I can say with some certainty that even if I did test myself now, the numerical gains that I might have seen a couple weeks ago are largely diminished. I also apologize for my absence in the forums. Did I pass this challenge? Yes. So what now? I'm going to take some time to meditate on my existential design because right now I'm not playing on legendary. I'm trying to sneak through, hoping the s*** won't see me instead of facing it head on.
  8. Ugh, sorry to hear that. Take care of yourself!
  9. [Not gonna lie, looking back to Friday is a challenge.] Daily Owl: Tournament: Added 50 pts Friday > +2 Neville: No leafy greens consumed Water: ? Yule Ball: Did some quality stretching this weekend +1 Krum: Not unless you count moving my wife's entire library upstairs... Hermoine: Not enough to earn points for it, but it has really been fun to revisit this story from the begining 211 Points for Ravenclaw I had intended for this to be exam week and I will still try to get some of the metrics evaluated so I can see if I've made any progress over the past six months or so. Let's hope for some Outstanding results.
  10. Seconded. Alright Dragons, let's bring the heat.
  11. Yeah, I just haven't done enough 'qualified' reps this week. Needed to transition back in my progressions a little bit to give the body a rest.
  12. To some extent, mental health weaves its way into many of the challenges and quite a few people talk honestly about what they're going through. To the credit of the community, I have seen nothing but support from fellow Rebels and quite a few people are open to saying that they are going or have gone through similar struggles.
  13. Daily Owl: Today is my mouse. Tournament: Eh? Is anyone still playing? Neville: Nope Water: 1L (not good enough with the temperature rising). +1 Yule Ball: Stretching last night +1 Krum: 100 push ups before breakfast...f*** yeah +1 Hermoine: Lull at work so I read a lot of random stuff during the day, and then started re-reading Sorcerer's Stone last night. +1
  14. Great job in week 2 and I hope your week 3 is going well too!!
  15. ^^^ This sounds awesome. And way better than slogging through week 3.
  16. The pool does sound amazing! But the allergies are a bummer, I've been running at like 80% the last week or so b/c my allergies have been so bad. Hopefully, the pollen bloom is short.
