  1. I am one with the force, and the force is with me. Sometimes our answers are right there in front of us. I had joined up with the Institute for Jedi Realist Studies because of my interest and being inspired by other members of the Rebellion. BUT, I completely failed to make it a priority. I have not touched it since day 0. Looking into my email, I find this: Have you found yourself drifting from your goals, either with the Jedi path, your job, or life in general? Who doesn't? Life isn't binary. You don't either succeed or fail. Life is about making choices. Every day, every hour, every second we have the ability to make a difference choice. If you don't like the way your life or training is going, choose different. Revisit your goals. Do they still make sense? Or should you change them? Then, ask yourself what will bring you closer to those goals. Keep the list short. A long list is a surefire way to distract yourself from meeting your goals. Oh man. Just reinforcement that I need to meditate on my goals.
  2. Daily Owl: [Time to get to work] Tournament: 25 pt > 1 house point Neville: Nope. Water: 1L > +1 Yule Ball: Sun Salutation sequence this morning > +1 Krum: A little here and there, but no points earned. Hermoine: Uh...need to pick something up, but rolling around the idea of re-reading the HP series. Existential Rant:
  3. Daily Owl: I have been feeling damn lazy since last week and a little chemically imbalanced . . . (too much sugar, body craving exercise after last week, and some life-drama getting me down). But it's all good. Jamming out to some mellow Alt-J today and going to try to get a lunch workout or hike in.
  4. After the push on that last challenge, I'm right there with ya. But now to get back into it...
  5. But we got to be powerful by doing push-ups while waiting for load screens Hope your week's going better and looking forward to an update on the cosplay!
  6. Story of my life... Thanks for your perspective on the mini -- I do think the intrigue made the game more challenging and interesting. Hopefully, everyone doesn't drop off for these last two rounds.
  7. Daily Owl: Tournament: 358 > 17 house points Neville: +2 Water: ? (Drank a fair amount of water...but did not keep track this weekend.) 198 Points for Ravenclaw Where to start? The mini has been an awesome motivator and I'm way ahead of my points on the challenge. The weekend was also busy but really good networking at a BBQ, time with family, worked in the yard, and went to the Ren Faire on Sunday. Mrs. Six and I have decided that one of our post-children goals will be working on the Ren Faire circuit for at least one summer. Because I've exceeded the initial point goal, this week is going to focus on recovery > yoga & stretching (Practice for Yule Ball), foundational bodyweight work (Train like Krum), some breathing, and trying to get some reading done (Study with Hermoine) etc. Points can still be earned in the tournament, with Neville, or by staying properly hydrated, but I'm going to change my emphasis leading into... Week 4 will be the final event of the Tournament and I am going to put myself to the test (ie: re-test some of my metrics from my first challenge). Let's see how far I've come in the past six months? and house points will be earned for improvement.
  8. I also want to point out that we only voted against Wholly because they failed to respond to our offer to help in the first place. By the time we voted it was too late, but i think we made it clear that we would rather have helped than opposed.
  9. This is so true for me too. I was more or less ready to throw in the towel on Thursday night because I was so worn out. But, the competition!
  10. @Coco P Loco @Grayspeed @Jonesy @Manarelle @raptron @The Scarlet Pimpernel & @UnquietBones While I'd love to make it to the cut off tonight, I simply don't have the energy. Regardless of the outcome, this challenge has seen a truly great effort from everyone. You have all made me stronger this week--both physically and mentally. Thank you.
  11. It's worth mentioning that at the end of the day, despite our divergent goals, we're all here to support each other. One of my inspirations in the Assassins mixes lifting (warrior), Krav Maga(monk), bodyweight (assassins), and running (scouts) -- she's a badass. Another inspiration of mine was an adventurer who recently realigned with the Scouts, but he does his own animal of exercise (a lot of primal movement in the woods) but also puts a lot of emphasis on improving himself all-around. But the point is that you should do whatever works for you -- there will be people here with some knowledge that may help you. You might be able to lend some running knowledge too. Don't be afraid to dabble or jump in wherever you want. I hang with the assassins because bodyweight works with my life right now and I love progressive calisthenics. I'll do an occasional 3-5mi run, but it's definitely not the focus of my journey right now. Maybe later? Maybe not?
  12. Hahaha, I, too, am so much cooler online https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UE6iAjEv9dQ Thanks for the synopsis, I'm going to have to track it down!
  13. I completely second this. I've referred to my style as guerilla workouts in the past because I don't normally have a block of time to work out during the day between work and kids. So like Manarelle said, I throw in short, single sets of challenging exercises throughout my day. Also, those pre-pack meals do look delicious I need to track something like that down.
  14. My wife loves Darynda Jones. Let me know what you think of book 10!
  15. I am looking at a busy weekend, but I'll do my best to get as much done as possible.
