  1. Just wanted to give everyone an update since the challenge is over . I've beat stress, my fitness goal and my sugar habit is still there looming but i'm kicking its butt too. Let's hope i don't run out of stevia. ... I've also, completed another goal i didn't even think i would get to during this challenge and that is finishing part one of my NVC certification. I've got a long way to go but i'm getting there

Hid from bird bigger than a condor: the shadow reached both sides of an apartment courtyard at 25 feet. I could see the individual feathers in the shadow. Raced a horse down a mountainside. <- it was the horses idea but it was fun. *Honestly, you never know what is going to happen. So these lists are to be continued...
  3. Thanks, now if i could get Oreo my border collie to exercise everything would be perfect.
  4. Downloaded the "Zombies Run!" app. I'll start working on running this fall on campus. Right now i'm only running for less than a mile each day, can't take the summer temps.
  5. Sun Salutation, pushups, and bicep curls and raises here.
  6. Living groovy that's a great idea! You get in a mini exercise routine and you become more mindful! Will definitely have to try that!
  7. That's really interesting, i was actually attempting something like that one my own. Every time it was quiet i would listen to this one mp3 i have of birds chirping. It would work for a while but sometimes my tinnitus would change frequency making it hearable again. I've been wondering if i mix the mp3 with some pink noise if that would cover it up, it drives me crazy sometimes.
  8. I've never done retraining therapy I've had tinnitus for as long as i can remember but i've never had anything to help stop it or even seen a doctor for it. It's high pitched though, so usually it only drives me insane during times when there is actually silence, like right before bed (my brother is autistic and loves to talk so quiet is scarce). That sounds amazing! Please link to the article!
  9. My knee's back to normal, it only lasted one day . Tinnitus is cruel, a cure sounds amazing! It would be nice to hear silence . I'm hoping to take up running just not yet, i haven't found a good place to do it yet. My neighborhood is in a killer hill zone with wild dogs on the loose, not to mention the occasional mountain lion, wolf and crazed killer. I'm planning on taking up running when i move next year safer. Feel free to take the goal! I'm focusing on the druid part this year too. Next year comes vibram five fingers and the Zombies run app.
  10. My goals are to get better at yoga and devote more time to meditation and NVC (non-violent communication). So i'll be tracking my NVC time this go around while continuing yoga.
  11. alas i missed two days! I had to go to iowa from missouri to rescue my dad (car trouble) didn't get home until 4 a.m. completely exhausted.
  12. Lol, i tried fencing once too, unfortunately the classes were so far away and with gas prices o_O i couldn't afford to take them any longer. I think fate is torturing me though as my college just got a fencing club and i'm not allowed to join due to lack of health insurance. So, that's when i decided archery, I did it once at a summer camp a long time ago where we had to hit balloons waving in the wind. I think that's when "badass" came into my vocabulary when i was one of the few to shoot the balloons and hit them at several hundred yards out.
  13. My knee's fine now, i just took a day off from yoga and it feels fine. It felt sore whenever i would take a step etc. But all's good now. Yea, "badassness" needed, that's why i'm taking archery in the fall. That feeling of hitting your target (not animals, that would give me terrible guilt) is awesome. P.S. LOL, you just made me feel like a giant. I'm about 5'9.
  14. It's just one strange injury after another for me... I think i overextended my knee. That's what i get for laughing my butt off while doing yoga.
  15. Combat Badminton sounds ridiculously fun, i knit too! Never had the chance to make my own yarn before though. That's pretty cool.
  16. Hand wrapping is cheaper at the moment, I totally agree "badass". I'll save up for some weightlifting gloves too. Probably something i'll be able to afford in the fall. Also, started logging this stuff on Fitocracy, here's the link: http://www.fitocracy.com/profile/meirad/
  17. Yup, i love modifications. Anything to get me through yoga without feeling too much pain the next day lol. Did 19 minutes of yoga, anytime i needed to put weight on my wrists i used the handled weights, it worked perfectly. No stiff or sore wrists today, unfortunately now the skin on my hands hurts o_O from the rough weights. Any suggestions? Feels like i ran my hands over rubberized sand paper.
  18. Sun Salutations here. Did 19 minutes of it today, up from the usually 16. Probably could of done more too.
  19. I think i just needed a few days to de-stress. So, today i did 9 bent knee pushup's (started the 100 pushups challenge), i'm going to continue with the yoga too. I have these weights that have handles on them and they seem to help alleviate my wrist pain. Going to try that out for a while. My core used to be so fit a year ago i could do over 100 sit ups, somehow though i never lost any weight! I was even walking several miles a week. But i guess that's been the evils of sugar lurking...
  20. Thought i'd give an update, i'm still lagging on yoga, but i've cut out over 3/4 of my sugar intake. I've also took your advice Skirler and went to the state park. Played frisbee for over an hour, grilled hot dogs etc. It was really nice, i haven't been to the park in almost a year thanks to college, it was awful. I plan on doing a lot more things this summer to make up for it. P.S. Did you know the St.Louis Botanical Gardens are going to have a Chinese Lantern Festival? Definitely something worth seeing this summer
  21. I bought a hoop and a set of dvd's from hoopnotica, the hoop is weighted so you might get some bruises at first but it's worth it. Also, After tomorrow my finals are over! So everyday i'll be exercising Hoopnotica and yoga etc. Also, i found something inspirational for us druid's.
  22. I try both suggestions Let'cha know how it works!
