  1. I've heard people telling good things about both types but if the water rowers are that expensive I might as well go for a Concept2. Just out of curiosity, Do you know which brand to go for if I were to buy a water rower?
  2. Hi guys, As I wrote in my introduction post on this forum I'm in the process of building myself a home gym. I have a busy schedule because of my job and I think that a home gym would help me fit in my workouts in the daily routine. It's mostly about losing weight at first. I was in an accident five years ago and since that I've let go of myself. Back then I was in good shape - I especially loved using the rowing machine in the gym. This was a Concept2 machine and I remember it as being a great machine. However, I haven't tried any other rowing machines and I wondered if you have any suggestions? A quick Google search shows that most people recommend the Concept2 - Just wanted to get your opinion before settling on it. I found this article by a former professional rower who also says go for the Concept2 but also talks about other machines. Do you know them? Any opinions are welcome
  3. I've had good experiences with the TRX. But then again, they are also expensive as you point out. Redstone's suggestion might be worth it though!
  4. If you have access to a rowing machine in your gym I would definitely go for that. It's up to you how intense it's gonna be and it's a full body exercise which is low impact at the same time!
  5. Thank you so much. Haha, my Norwegian may come in handy at some point then I will definitely shoot you a message if I have any UK-specific questions - thanks!
  6. Hi everyone, This is my first post on this forum. Sorry for my English - I'm a Norwegian currently living in London. I found this place yesterday and thought to myself that this was what I've been looking for in a very long time. It seems that there's a lot of motivational posts and stories on this forum and that is exactly what I need. Here's my story: In high school I was very athletic. Sports have never been difficult for me. I especially enjoyed playing football, hockey and doing crossfit. At this time in my life I was doing something cardio-related at least 3-4 times per week. But 5 years ago I broke my leg in a skiing accident and this changed EVERYTHING. It took a long time before I was able to do any sports again and now I find it very difficult to motivate myself. Over the past 5 years I've gained 20 kilos and I feel so bad about my body. My plan is finally to change this mind set. I'm currently in the process of building my own home gym in the basement. I've got plenty of space for the machines and I think that a home gym would be good for me so I can fit a workout in between work and other daily routines. So far so good. Hope you all reach your goals! I'm looking forward to have some nice conversations with you on this forum!
