  1. Hey, thanks for the welcome and encouragement! I had a good look at the NF workout and decided to merge some aspects of that with a beginner calisthenics workout I got from Bar Brothers. I have a feeling it will be effective cause it absolutely killed me yesterday XD Best work out I've had in a long time and not a weight or machine in sight! (bar 1 medicine ball). Thanks, the job is going well, I'm a youth support worker in a homelessness project. In terms of studies, my access course is in Social Science with health studies. I'm probably going to start out with a bread social science BA, in sociology with social anthropology and then specialise in an MA. maybe youth and community work or public health but we'll see, I could find myself doing something totally different.
  2. Hey! So this is my first challenge and I'm coming in late/ have no idea what I'm doing. But! Here goes! I'm a 25 year old trans man living in London. I started a new job 2 weeks ago (win) and am working my way through an online access course. I used to be involved in adventure sports like climbing and downhill mountain biking as well as gymnastics. I've been super sad recently that I let all that go because of some silly preoccupation with no longer being in the shape I used to be. So starting now I'm concocting a plan to rehone my assassin skills. My long term goals: Over the next year: Build strength back up to being able to hold a good form iron cross on the rings Get better at bouldering Develop musculature so that good definition is visible, increase size/strength and reduce overall body fat to 10-15% Learn how to sword fight Eat better without falling back into the ultra clean eating trap that messes with my MH Finish my access course & apply for uni (get accepted) Undergo chest surgery revision next year Move to Manchester Medium/short term goals: Get back into bouldering & join a gym Be able to do 5 unassisted pull ups & chin ups Learn more about calisthenics & develop solid work out program. (Stick with it) Go outdoor bouldering Do good at New job Goals for this challenge: Create a good body weight & flexibility program and stick to it (twice per week) Attend a refresher bouldering class Take home cooked food to work instead of pot noodles! Complete 50% of current course assignment Wish me luck!
  3. Hi all, Quick intro. I used to be a gymnast in high school but got an injury so had to stop. I shied away from any kind of body weight or gymnastics type sport/exercise for years and stuck to weightlifting. I realised recently that I'm so bored of lifting and that's why I'm not making progress so I thought I'd get back into what I love through calisthenics, bouldering and other cool stuff. I'm quite nervous as I haven't done this type of work for years. Be gentle!
  4. Hi everyone. 24 year old queer/gay trans guy here been out for 8 years and on T for 6 of those. I had top surgery in 2013 but it went pretty badly so I'm waiting for a revision to finally get sorted out. I'm from London recently started going to the gym again after 2 years off due to an injury. I'm mostly looking to get stronger and build muscle as well as meet other nerdy queer folks that are into fitness
  5. Hey all thanks for the warm welcome! Sorry I didn't check back sooner. I had no internet for a couple of weeks
  6. Hi all, I'm Oryx, 24 year old trans man living in London. Long story short I was a jock girl in high school, gymnast, boxing, rugby, mountain bike etc. But a combinAtion of injury and depression stopped all my interest in sports. Fast forward 10 years and I've figured out that I'm a man, gone some way to getting my physical appearance to match that, discovered gaming and sci fi, got in a long term relationship and become depressed..again. Im on the road to recovery from depression and for me a big part of that is wanting to feel physically strong again. I'm a little heavier than I used to be and am actually ok with that BUT I want to look and feel chubby, but in shape (think power lifter/bear on a mountain). I eat well but am the kind of person who tends to carry a little around the middle lol. So yeah, I'm here to get stronger and bigger, mostly for helping me with depression but also in preparation for the next part of my transition which will be correcting a botched chest reconstruction next year sometime. It really helps the surgeon if patients have good muscle mass and definition in their chest, and being fit will obviously give me better results and make recovery a lot easier. So that's me!
