  1. yep, I've totally whacked myself with a barbell. more than once. Thrusters are horrible for me, I've done it twice with those and once with a clean that was too light and I brought it up high to the chin. ouch. I still worry about it. I don't want to lose my teeth. lol.
  2. I like to foam roll at night when I'm watching tv. whether I've lifted or not. Keeps the knots worked out.
  3. Just increased my calories I consume to 2600 a day. Its a big deal to me. I started out three years ago eating 1200. Slowly I've started weight lifting and have done that for two years now. I feel I need this amount yo have energy and fuel for recovery from my workouts. So let's see!! Cheers!

  5. yeah we have several barbells just no rack other than the smith machine.
  6. Thanks everyone!! I'll have to look up the Zercher Squat. And the whole clean to front squat thing makes me nervous. I've never had to do that.
  7. Good luck!! I was just looking into this program yesterday. Thinking about starting it in two months after I finish up with my Baby Got Back Program. 3 lifts a workout sounds fantastic to me at this point.
  8. As others have said, just make sure you constantly make it more difficult for yourself. Once one rep/set count or weight is not as hard for you, it's time to change it somehow.
  9. OOooo, yay, i've never participated in a challenge on NF.
  10. I'm in the exact same boat. I don't get to go to the gym until 8pm, there for an hour, drive 35 minutes home and stay up until 12-1am. wake up for work at 6:30 (ok, supposed to wake up at 6:30, usually ends up being 7). I just had to come to the realization that I won't get more than 7 hours of sleep, just not going to happen.
  11. My gym doesn't have an actual squat rack and I don't want to use the Smith Machine because it just feels awkward. So I'm currently doing hack squats with a barbell. Is there a better type of squat to do that gets the benefits of regular ones? Thanks!
  12. You could try the complexes on www.wannabebig.com
  13. Hello all. I'm new to this site and it is confusing me. I'm sure i'll eventually get the hang of it though. My name is Michelle and I've been losing weight since November of 2010. Lost an initial 25 lbs really quick, doing it the way I now know was not good for me. I'm currently at 38 lbs lost and am happy. I wanted to lose an additional 20lbs but started having a lot of trouble and don't really know what to do with that. so I've decided I'm going to go on a bulk diet and gain muscle, or at least try. So here I am. Hope to see all of you around and get to know you. Best of luck to us all.
