  1. Yesterday was a little cray-cray. I did manage to fit in a very brisk 1-mile walk. It went about as well as can be expected. xD I was huffing & puffing, & ready to quit. I made it to the end! Sugar intake was great, but I didn't pay much mind to my carbohydrate intake, which is equally important. While my added sugars only added up to about 10g, my carbs were 200g. No bueno. I've come down with a cold, so I feel really under the weather. I'm going to nurse myself today with teas, & gentle foods on my sore throat. Tomorrow will be my next cardio day so I need to be in as optimal state of mind as possible! Since I have gloomy tendencies, I've added an LED lamp to my desk while I work. It's doing wonders, I feel. It kinda feels like I'm getting that "sunlight" without being outside. It's no permanent substitute but it feels better than the ordinary light bulbs around here. Anyhoos, more tweaks to come to my thread along the day to keep me occupied along with my work.
  2. n_n Thanks very much !! I was a little worried about setting it up--I was hoping I didn't break any rules. Welllllll I picked up this neat book at the library, The Selected Letters of Laura Ingalls Wilder. I'm a closet fan of the Little House on the Prairie books. & as far cardio, I thought I'd start off with some low-intensity cardio videos from YouTube. I'm not brave enough to face the gym yet. But soon--!
  3. Reserving for specific logging & other cool junk later! - - - Week One (Logging Food) | 12.5 [ x ] | 12.6 [ x ] | 12.7 [ ] | 12.8 [ ] | 12.9 [ ] | 12.10 [ ] Week One (Logging Workout) | 12.5 [ x ] | 12.6 [ ] | 12.7 [ ] | 12.8 [ ] | 12.9 [ ] | 12.10 [ ] - - - Sugar Intake by Day 12.5 -- 9g !! Carbs should be wayyyy lower though. Gotta work on that, but for now I'm concentrating on added sugar specifically. - - - Chosen Book : The Selected Letters of Laura Ingalls Wilder | Progress -- 0%
  4. Quest for the Dragon Balls Quest Start-Date : December 5, 2016 Phase I : Preparation for Long-term Journey I'm a super-duper newbie around here, so if I'm doing something wrong--let me know! Trying to get a feel for this setup. - - - I. Diet (Packing & Prepping for the Trip Ahead) Log foods, drinks, & other sources of calories everyday for the rest of the month. Cut daily sugar intake to <30g per day, to start. II. Fitness (Tinkering with the Radar) Light cardio 3x per week. III. LVLUP Life (Assisting in the Lab in the Meantime) Finish a book this month, because I don't read as much as I should. About Me Hay hay hay.~ Since this is my first challenge, I thought I'd formally say a thing or two about myself. I'm here to get my fitness thing started up again. Somewhere along the way, I lost all motivation & ended up in a bit of a spot. I miss how it feels to be in-shape! Being able to have stamina, endurance, & just feeling lighter. While many go to college & gain weight, I did the opposite--I lost weight! A lot of it. Coming back home, though, I'm back to the same old routine I had. My family doesn't care too much about how they eat, & because I didn't stay diligent enough, I'm back at square one. No worries, though! I know I can do it again. & this seems like a really fun way to do it! More about my hobbies~ You can tell I'm a nerd for DBZ. My journey from here on will be based on a long-term adventure to discover the dragon balls! I feel like that'll motivate me to take this in bits & pieces. Other things I like : kawaii culture, comics & manga, sketching, running my etsy shop, going to cons & cosplaying, gaming. So yeah! That's a little bit about me. n_n - - -
  5. I definitely prefer traveling alone. I haven't been very far or to many places, but where I have gone I've been by myself 90% of the time. Sure, I will possibly run into someone I know or start a casual conversation with someone while there. Most of the time my friends are too busy with life to take trips & unfortunately I don't have much of a choice. I have a job where I can work remotely, & I have no children or significant other. So I have a bit more freedom. However, it's been pretty good at getting me out of my shell! & I get free reign on any activities I'd like to partake in. It gets lonely at times but I also notice that I'm hardly ever the only one alone, so it makes me feel a little better.
  6. This thing. Soooo, my story! I'm a recent college grad, in my 20s. I lost about 60lbs when I went away to university, but after coming home & getting a 99%-of-the-day desk job, I've become lazy/unmotivated. Gained all my weight back. :"/ I used MFP during my first journey but it's boring to me now. As a gamer, I hope this site will give me added motivation to get moving & do new things. I also have PCOS, so it makes my journey challenging but it's by no means impossible. If I've done it once, I can do it again. I'm still trying to get the hang of things around here, so I'd appreciate any guidance for a n00bie like myself. My goals -- to be able to run long-distances again. Endurance & strength for kickboxing. Incorporating my hobbies in a positive way so I'm not always sitting on my butt. Having endurance & confidence to tackle a whole con day. Hmmmmm, I guess that's it. Gonna push myself to try new things & get back into the game! Sooooo. Uhm. Bye. D:
