  1. The flutter kicks got lost somewhere in the beer yesterday. Oops. Did the squats w/ EC as a finisher today. Nice.
  2. I really like today's. I had a big project today, so did the clenches after 6-7 hours typing. Felt awesome. This is getting incorporated into my routine for sure.
  3. Done w/ EC. And looking at tomorrow, wth is up with the tap obsession in the dares lately? Other movements are allowed ...
  4. Ow. I can apparently do 4 of these at a time. If I try a fifth, I basically just lay there on the floor not getting up at all, because my arms won't push. So that took 4 sets, with a nice long break bewteen each.
  5. I'm sort of embarrassed to have won by default ... those weren't great numbers by any means, more of a post-rehab test. I guess I just have to really work on increasing them for next time, to feel like I earned it.
  6. Thanks, I appreciate it.
  7. I'll try this at the gym tomorrow. I'm thinking EMOM, 8 @ 100#.
  8. Sorry. There was a death in the family and everything went to hell. Not unexpected (he was almost 90), but it still completely sidetracked everyone. I should be able to stay focused next time.
  9. So update time. Weight loss is on track, less than 3 lbs to go. We'll see how badly V-Day messes that up I figured out where I am starting with on each of the lifts for the postal meet. Shoulder stability starts to become an issue on the right side with the 35# DB, which affects the C&PP and the swing. That's also about where my poor girlie biceps start failing. Time to break out Practical Programming and get the plan in writing. The Daily Dare battle vs the hubby was tied until today...my knees can't handle jump squats, so I'll have to make up the points on abs and balance things, which I can smoke him at. I worked each of the dogs once so far this week, and learned that Tycho can now use the peanut butter spoon to work on heel position...when he was younger he would get so excited by it that his brain completely shut down. I also did the 2017 Amorous Assessment of Anatomic Artillery just for fun. My numbers are certainly nothing to write home about, but are my first true maxes since finishing knee rehab.
  10. I put my #s in the google sheet, hopefully I did it right. It was my first time going for a true max after finishing rehab on my knee last year. I was a little disappointed in the clean, but happy w/ my snatch, it was closer to my (admittedly crappy) PR than I expected. Definitely won't be doing the powerlifting though, based on today I don't think my knee is ready to handle heavy squats - I just couldn't drop under the bar properly once it got actual weight on it. I definitely know what to work on for next time.
  11. Yup. I like it because there's nothing more motivating than having an 80+ year old out lift you...some of those guys have been competing for a very long time and really haven't lost much. I want to be setting records at that age
  12. This looks fun. Will definitely try the O-lifts, and may have a go at the powerlifts, even though my numbers will be pathetic for the bench and squat .
  13. There's also a UK version - http://www.iawa.uk/ For this meet, it's 2 DB clean and push press, 2 DB cheat curl, and 2 DB swing. The one arm clean and jerk was really fun to do, but my favorite so far has been the ab lift - basically a sit up with a barbell in back rack position - which was awesomely brutal.
  14. Sorry - USAWA= US All-round Weightlifting Association. Basically, they compete and keep records in all lifts that aren't O-lifting, power lifting, or strongman. Lots of really odd lifts. They have a bunch of meets all year, plus 4 postal ones where you mail in your scores, signed by a witness. I get really weird looks training for them in the gym, which is awesome!
