  1. Thanks for the comments, folks. Luffy, that is a really intersesting idea. I had no idea there were microwave bags, I will definitely be investigating that route. Thanks again everyone! -baggy
  2. Nope, not allowed to cook in the room. Although I hear there is a kitchen somewhere in here for guests to use... I haven't found it yet. But the thing is, there's not a lot of time between shifts at work to do real cooking anyway, and plus - What? Me cook? Lol. If I can find something simple, that's what I'm going to go for. I did go to the grocery store just now and buy some supplies - fruit, vegetables, some stuff to make ideas I found here: http://everydaypaleo.com/2012/04/03/school-lunch-ideas/#more-4211 I need to keep reading, really.
  3. Hi folks. I have my first question here, that I hope y'all can answer. I am on the road until May, currently living in a hotel and limited to eating what I can store in a tiny refrigerator and cook in a microwave. So I'm trying to follow the paleo diet (luckily when I get home from work at 8am, they have hard-boiled eggs and fruit in the kitchen downstairs for breakfast), and I am having trouble coming up with ideas for what to eat. Do any of you have experience following this diet with limited methods of food preperation? One idea I've come up with is making chicken salad - bagged southwest chicken strips from Walmart and bagged salad... other than that though, I got nothing. Help please? Thanks! -baggy
  4. Thanks for the warm welcome folks! And AKLulu - accountability! THAT'S the word I was looking for...
  5. Friendly neighborhood bahgheera here, checking in for the first time. I've been reading the blog for the last couple of days, and I've found a lot of really good info there. And I mean a *lot*. So, I'm here because for the last couple of years I've known I needed to lose a little weight (~210 lbs, I'd like to get it back down to 170) and every so often I get on a kick where I work out a little bit, and then a few weeks go by and I've forgotten all about it. I'm hoping this time it's not the same. I think I've realized at this point that it's because I don't really have any friends who work out, in fact, don't really have that many friends at all to be honest heh heh. Just a wife and two little girls to keep me company most of the time. At any rate, I feel like I may find a community here who will "keep me honest", so to speak. I look forward to learning what I can from this place.
