1. Sorry you were sick, but glad you are better. And it is good to see you are staying focused for your goals too! Have you thought about deadlifting the people at the pullup machine out of your way, you could kill two birds with one stone that way. As far as the cruise goes I say do the best you can and don't worry about it if you eat too much. Like Bean said it's your vacation, just have fun! Keep up the good work!
2. That sucks man, rest up, hopefully you'll be better in no time.
3. Week 2 grades 1) 50 pushups in 1 minute: I'll give myself a 85/100 here. I did a lot of pushups, but not really over the whole week, I'll have to do better if I want to hit 50. 2) Get back into heavy lifting minimum 1/week: 100/100. I lifted three days, barring illness or injury, this goal seems to be wrapped up. 3) Go 99% Paleo 1% beer: 80/100: I did really good until Saturday, I had some friends come through town so I let myself relax a little on this one. I spent the beginning of the week even abstaining from protein shakes, because of the waxy maize in them. But I think it would be better for my body to drink the shakes and bite the bullet on this goal. 4) Set up a budget: 90/100: I set up my budget, and even stayed in everything except for food, once again, the friends in town thing hurt me. 5) Hiking App trail: Not applicable again. So this week's grade was a very respectable 89. And on a the Max Power bear fighting scale that would be a I see fear in that bear's eyes. Today's workout: Squats: 1) 10X45 2) 7X135 3) 7X155 4-8) 5X165 OHP: This move is very awkward for me, I get this odd feeling my forearms are too long to do this correctly. I'm probably just insane though. 1-2) 10X45 3) 7X65 4-7) 5X65 Deadlift: 1) 5X135 2-3) 5X145 4) 5X155 Total weight for the day was 12,160 lbs. Looks like I'm going to be working out in the field this week, so updates may be few and far between for a few days. So until next time, rock on Warriors.
4. Yeah it sound like you've thought out your changes pretty well, I say go for it, you can't let your body get used to what you are doing. Geek up the good work! Can't wait to see the aztec pics
5. I know it feels good to get those chapters out of your hands, it won't be long until you've got the whole thing knocked out. Keep it up!
6. Ha you guys are on your own, handstands are a bit down the road for me!
7. Huzzah! Congrats on the chin up! And on the pushing people around! I got a litte giggly reading that haha!
8. Check out oilgrads they've got jobs in just about every field all over the country. Who knows you might get lucky.
9. BigM picking up trainee trainers through the time honored tradition of lifting heavy things since 2012. Awesome workout by the way. Rub a little dirt on that leg, you'll be better in no time, haha. Keep up the good work man!
10. Nice workout man. I used to workout in a gym with a bunch of roid guys, it was always funny watching how intense they'd get, but yeah if they were on the equipment I needed, there was no point in trying to get in cause they were gonna be there for an hour. That job sounds awesome, I hope it works out for you! How was The Grey? I've been wanting to see that one.
11. I was so freaking sore yesterday, every time I'd stand up I'd take about ten seconds just to straighten up completely because of my hip flexors, thanks stupid trainer guy. But I woke up this morning feeling strong enough to throw a car. In fact I spent so much time being amazed at how good I felt that I was late getting to the gym. So I cut out my squats because my legs are still a little wrecked. But the rest of the workout went like this... Bench Press: 1:12X45 2:10X95 3:7X115 4-8:5X135 Bent Over Row 1:12X45 2:10X95 3-7:5X110 Total weight: 9910 lbs Yesterday I decided to do incline pushups at the office to work on my pushup goal. So every time I went to the copier or wandered out of my office I'd crack out 10,20,30 whatever I felt like. I added them all up at the end of the day for a total of 240, which inspired me to make it an even 300 when I got back to my apartment. For a total of 35,964 lbs. This morning's weigh in was 267.8 lbs which was 1.2 lbs heavier than last week, but after the beach weeekend plus my body being wrecked all week from starting to lift again, I am not at all surprised. Anywho that's it for me, you cats and kittens have fun!
12. Boo flu! Get better soon, the world needs more warriors.
13. That's how you do it! Good job on the pushups. Oh and I just saw your link to the paleo bbq sauce and your talk on wings. Looks like I know what I'm having for supper tonight. Keep up the good work man!
14. It was one of the handheld deals, I rang in at 28.1%, I was guessing 28%, clearly I should go on the price is right. I asked myself the same question when I was typing my daily report up this morning, but it was 6:00 AM and I hadn't had any coffee yet, that could have been a factor. I know partly I want to get into the routine of lifting again before I start adjusting things on a day to day.
15. No, I have no intention of using a trainer, so he can do what he wants from here on out. The only reason I went in the first place was to get my BF% calculated.
16. That's a heck of a workout, good job. My legs too like stretching post workout.
17. That shuttle seems to be putting everyone in high gear. It's the best side quest ever.
18. Nice workout, break out your crayons and color me impressed. And consider your recipe stolen.
19. First off, I'd like to say, ouch. Secondly, does anyone want to amputate my legs? So the free training session yesterday turned out a lot like I expected. He emphasized a lot of iso-strength training, and a lot of cardio. I grinned and nodded, then we went to do a quick intro workout which went a lot like this... Trainer: Ok today I'm going to have you do legs and abs. Kevin: Actually, I did heavy squats yesterday, my legs are pretty shot. Trainer: Well, this is what I've got planned. Kevin: Didn't we just have a conversation about not working the same muscles two days in a row? Trainer:... 20 goblet squats (passes dumbbell) Kevin: (dies) END SCENE And me, being the genius I am, went ahead and did more squats this morning. Squats: 1/ 10X45 2/ 7X115 3-6/ 5X115 OHP: 1/ 7X45 2-6/ 5X45 DL 1-3/ 5X135 I also tested my pushups/minute this morning and got 33 in one minute. Not bad considering this was post workout, I also did three sets of ten afterwards. for a total of 63 pushups this morning. And to add in yesterdays goblet squats (it was the only thing he had me do with weights) 3X20-30lbs. All for a grand total of 19729.08 lbs. And now I work!
20. I could do this easy with pushups, but with just iron, I'm not so sure. But then I guess they don't call it a challenge because it's easy.
21. Haha, that's how you bring it! Great attitude too, you'll be throwing your fiance to safety in no time!
22. According to the Max Power bear fighting scale you would receive a... This guy is clearly not walking away from this fight, but he's going to get in a few licks before he goes. But your goals look good, and it looks like you're making good progress, we've got a long way to go, I'm sure we'll both be pulling down A's on the bear fighting scale before this is over. Keep it up man!
23. Good deal, it looks like you have things under control. Nice job man!
24. I procrastinate on lunges too, my mind actually blocked them out for a set one day last week. But it looks like you have everything under control. Carry on.
