  1. Woah, woah, woah, let's not get ahead of ourselves, I got up and worked out in the kitchen. I am training myself for the gym though by going through all of my "going to the gym" routines, contacts, shoes, fish oil, stretch. Then I just workout at the house. Even north Mississippi is better priced than here. I was at my parents last week and looking at a local paper for realtors and there was a 5 bed, 4 bath, inground pool and 3 car garage for $185K. Something like that would be nearly $100K more here, depending on the neighborhood. There may have been something wrong with that house that I don't know about though. I almost feel like it would have to be.
  2. Nope, too cold for field work! This is sitting in the office weather. That sounds like a great plan! And it led me to the idea of a lazy Susan attached to some clockworks so you could plan out all of your nutrient timing and place your food on the lazy susan and it would rotate around to deliver your food precisely when you needed it!
  3. Our low tomorrow is in the high teens, I'm going to be bundled up like I'm heading to the south pole. Good luck with the challenge, try not to freeze to death.
  4. !! (I'm following you too) Maybe you should come down and stay with us for a few weeks to help with the house hunting. I have a feeling that I'm going to go mad looking at places without yards and no feasible place for a power rack to go. I definitely fell off the wagon, and rolled around in the mud for a while. I would say that I was doing the back stroke through the mud, but that would have been a form of exercise, and that shit wasn't happening. 1/6/15 Workout: I was very excited going into this workout, it was leg based, which meant squats. What I wasn't expecting was my body is already in full on revolution over waking up early and eating properly. I woke up with a headache and it was really tough to get going. My body was also super tight, I did a good bit of stretching, but it didn't matter, my muscles kept throwing fits, so I didn't push too hard. Lunges: 8,8,5 (Left hamstring tried to cramp) Squats: 10,10,10,6 (Left quad started acting up) Single Leg RDL's: 10 (My legs felt like pudding at this point) This workout taught me that I need to work on loosening up more. I may add in some yoga somewhere down the road.
  5. I read this and thought about how much I liked the term "body detective" and I wondered why more people didn't use it, then my inner 12 year old started giggling and I figured it out.
  6. Consistency is going be be big for me this year too. Good luck with it!
  7. Oh man, just reading those events gets me excited. Good luck on the challenge!
  8. I'm with you on being glad 2014 is over. Here's to making 2015 the best year yet!
  9. I had a comment, then I went looking for a graphic for said comment and spent 30 minutes reading articles. Now I've forgotten the comment. I did find an interesting map on lbs of meat eaten per person though, so that's cool. Anywho, I hope the challenge goes well, I'll be here yelling from the sidelines. Good luck!
  10. I think going back to 125kg for another week on the DLs is a good idea, but you might be fine continuing to add 10kg every workout. Since you couldn't complete one rep at 135 but you were good for 5 @ 125, chances are, you were just having an off day. Anywho, keep up the good work!
  11. I hate those days, I'm more of a "keep the bathroom clean enough" kind of guy. The challenge looks good! Good luck! p.s. Yes for all the SHIELD gifs!
  12. Thanks, I'm hoping to be in a place by the end of summer, but we'll have to wait and see what is going to be realistic. Oh no, they're adapting to our ways. I've been gone too long... 1/5/15 Workout: Warmup: Dynamic stretching Pushups: Laddered up to six. KB rows: 12 reps X 3 sets @ 35 lbs BW dips: 10 reps X 4 sets feet on the ground I didn't plan this workout very well. I pulled an old BW exercise book off the shelves that I bought a long time ago and had just planned to do the routines it had in it. It's set up to do ladders working as high as you can without failing a rep then work back down in 7.5 minutes. I got distracted during the pushups though and didn't get very far. I forget that time flows differently that early in the morning. But I know better and I've already looked at tomorrow's workout so I can plan better for it.
  13. They must use a different calendar in Miami than I'm used to.
  14. Hi everybody! So yeah, I'm back. Here's a little recap of my adventures while I was away. For those who may not remember (or didn't know in the first place) I got married last May. At that time we moved into a rental house and I joined a new gym, and didn't do jack shit after that. Literally nothing, I don't think I've lifted since early August. I've got a laundry list of excuses, my new gym is shitty, I couldn't get back into my routine, adjusting to married life, and on and on... All of that laziness, plus the fact that I was still eating everything in sight put a lot of pounds back on. It's time to get back in the game and start doing something again. Goal 1: Restart the routine. I have had several false starts over the past few months, and I think they've all failed from the same thing, I tried to do too much too fast. My plan here is just to start getting up early every morning before work and doing a quick workout. Once I get into the morning routine again I'll start going back to the gym. I'm not setting a schedule for this, but I am planning on doing it five days a week. Goal 2: Walk a lot more. I'm planning on walking at least 20 minutes every day. This is mostly to combat the fact that I have the bad habit of attaching myself to the couch as soon as I finish eating supper every night. Goal 3: Food, eat less of it. I once heard Craig Ferguson talking about how he lost weight. He said "You know all of those unhealthy foods they tell you not to eat, I stopped eating those. And you know all of those healthy foods they say you're supposed to be eating more of, I stopped eating those too" That's pretty much my plan going forward, I need to re-learn portion control, and not worry so much about how much protein I'm getting, or if I'm still a few hundred calories short. I am planning on cutting all of the junk food out and eating healthier, but my overall goal is to just eat less. Goal 4: Buy a house. So me and the wife are officially starting the house hunt. I'm almost positive we won't have one in the next six weeks, and she is much more involved in things like this than I am, but as things come up that she requests me to do, I must do them immediately. My main point is to just stay on top of all of this. Nothing too hard, but as we have established, I'm lazy.
  15. Challenge wrap up time. I was sick most of last week, so I'm counting that as a wash. Goal 1: Regular lifting schedule. I was 4/6 on missed workouts, so the beard stays. But honestly, most of those workouts had no heart in them. I'm missing that old spark that kept me wanting to go back to the gym all the time. I think the next challenge may involve some soul searching to try and find where it's gone awry. Goal 2: More mobility. I did better on my warmups and cool downs whenever I went lifting, but I barely did anything extra. So not great there. Goal 3: Continue eating better. I fell off the wagon around week three and righted the ship around mid week four. I need more good days, but I'm still working towards that. All in all the past six weeks were better than anything I've done since April. So I can't complain, it's still not back to the old days. I'm thinking about going bodyweight for the next challenge (with the exception of some DLs here and there) maybe I'll go hang out with the druids for a bits. We'll see how it goes.
  16. Speaking of Saturday's workout, here it is. Hid for hugeness. Sent via telepathy.
  17. Yeah, I'm down four whiskers so far, two more and the whole beard falls out. I'll have to stay on top of things the rest of this challenge. This has just been one of those weeks. I had a lot of extra work pop up Monday morning, and I've just felt exhausted most of the week, don't know if I've been fighting off a bug or what. I was still sore from Saturday's workout up until yesterday, that was the first workout I added a lot of accessory work back into. I'll definitely be hitting the gym again on Saturday, but probably won't be back in there until then.

    Lwow Competes!

Good job! And congrats on 3rd!
  19. Let me know if you need me to take care of that jackhole, and by "take care of him" I mean punch him right in his stupid face!
  20. I skipped DLs this morning to move them to tomorrow, Saturday mornings are nicer than trying to squeeze things in before work. I haven't been all that sore from any of this week's workouts, it's probably about time to add some accessory work back in. Other than that, there's not a lot to update on right now. Life is good.
  21. Looks like it's time for a name change. Swolebeus51

    Lwow Competes!

Good luck, we're all pulling for you!
  23. Do it, it'll be one more thing we can start shit talking each other about. And when we have a meetup we can brawl.
  24. I'm the same way when I eat sandwiches! I really like a good sandwich, my life has taken a weird turn now that I consider sandwiches as a treat. My lack of sleep this week has kept me from starting my running yet. I figure if I do it in the morning, I will be less likely to die, and less people will see me when I'm super sweaty. And Cline put me on the trail of some Muay Thai places in my area, so now I'm more inclined to start running to get in better shape so I can go to fightin' classes. All of that is going to put me in the gainz vs anti-gainz mentality too.
  25. Ha! How'd you do that??? I searched a couple of weeks ago and came up with nothing! Maybe I searched close to my location or something, who knows. Either way, it looks like I've got some options, thanks!
