  1. Hey, I'm right there with you coming back to racing after a looooooong time off! I had been having a tough time mentally adjusting to the fact that now I need to walk (a lot) but it is definitely worth starting slow to get back into racing form, don't try for too much at once and hurt yourself (he says loudly to himself as well!) 2. Fitness goals are right on track, planning to be home on time for cycling class tomorrow and had two decent runs this week. Diet was good for work all week but this weekend I had a few extra snacks and drinks, will be back on track with my meal planning tonight. Will be working harder this week to get more stuff done at work, nearing the end of the semester which means grading, returning artwork, and prepping for a whole new batch of kids in February! 3. Hey all! New-ish to the forums, I had another account many years ago, the one known as Simba. I was somewhat active here during college, but through grad school and starting a new career, my fitness had fallen by the wayside, and I have put on quite a lot of weight in the past few years. This year I have finally gotten fed up with feeling so physically incapable, and struggling to fit into my clothes, so I am back and ready to do something about it. Shift_command_J is the adobe illustrator keyboard shortcut for justifying a body of text, and I am justifying my decision to make a change by writing these words and committing to take action (also, you know, graphic design nerd here, thought it sounded cool... and my name starts with a "J", so...). Anyway, nice to be back! I run (slowly at the moment), cycle (mostly indoors at the moment) and play Ultimate Frisbee (when its not below 0 outside). I also overuse parenthesis (obviously).

Goals Fitness: 1. Run twice a week. This is small one but an important one. I am just getting back into running after spending quite a bit of time away. A few years ago I had run a few half marathons and was running pretty regularly, so the most difficult part of my return has been taking it slow and accepting that I am not quite where I used to be. 2. Attend cycling class every Monday. I paid for a month of classes and gosh darn it I am going to em! Diet: 1. Eat paleo 2 out of 3 meals a day. Example- veggie omelet for breakfast, chicken salad for lunch, and a whole pizza for dinner. Kidding. Just trying to ease into cooking healthier meals but not set myself up for failure when I happen to be unable to cook a dinner or something like that. 2. Drink 3 or less non-water beverages a week. I've been pretty good about cutting out soda, ginger ale has been my vice for a long time but I have been drinking a lot more water. I'm giving myself 3 drinks a week that aren't water, and they will almost certainly have whiskey in them, but hey, moderation. Professional: 1. Spend less time watching YouTube at work. I am a middle school art teacher, and during my free periods lately I have been sinking a lot of time into watching YouTube videos. Whoops. As a result, I'm not getting quite as much done as I really should be. My room is starting to look like a hot mess!
