  1. Okay first week down time for an update! In terms of this week there have been good things but also bad things. Lets get the bad out first: 1) didn't do pilates all weekend but only on friday 2) unfortunately I didn't have the money to get the ingredients I needed until later in the weekend for breakfast so no breakfast (unless a meal at 11:30 counts :P) BUT WAIT! There were some good things that happened too! 1) I walked for 20 minutes everyday (even when I hungover from partying the night before) 2) I DID get the ingredients for protein pancakes 3) I DID do pilates on friday rather than not at all So a mix of things but overall I think it was a good weekend although I did lose motivation over the weekend Not sure how to help myself with this but I'm sure an epiphany will come to me I'm going to do some research this week on some possible Minecraft motivations to help me
  2. Unfortunately, its all gluten which sucks. But really? I never thought of protein powder sounds really interesting
  3. Hmm I would need to find a gluten free version but thats not a bad plan! I'll look into all of those suggestions thanks!
  4. Thanks Goldfish! My mom and I have been doing Pilates since I was about 5 or 6 so I stick with the same routine all the time. It's pilates for beginners but it has several levels to follow so that you can adjust depending on your skill level I highly recommend it! And if you're not sure which to do (if you're interested) the way I see it is that pilates is more about creating a good foundation for everyday activities, it really works the core In terms of Yoga I don't know too much about it as I have a hand injury that makes it difficult to do some of the positions Thanks for the input I really appreciate it!!
  5. I don't mind eating the same thing In fact I find it actually helps me out because it take the guess work out of prep I would love some suggestions thanks!
  6. Thanks! In terms of physical activity, I'm hoping to go for a walk at least 3 times a week but I'm not sure what else to do. I enjoyed kickboxing in the past but being in university and money being tight I can't afford classes so I'm not sure what else to do. Walking is a good starting point but not sure where to go from there. In terms of food, I don't think its too bad at the moment, I discovered this year I have a gluten intolerance so I have cut out gluten entirely and I feel 1000 times better than I used to Again, money is the biggest factor for me as I am relying on the food bank for my food. I'm making the best choices I can but my biggest problem is not knowing how to go about cooking certain things For example, I have black beans and chickpeas in my cupboard but I have no clue what to do with them! I know their a good source of protein but I honestly have no idea
  7. Thats awesome glad to see I'm not alone! Also thank you I couldn't believe it when I saw thats what I walked And yeah I'm not really a breakfast person mostly because I'm one of those people who gets up and doesn't want to take the time to eat When I have the time, I actually enjoy breakfast (it's my favourite meal of the day) but if I have stuff to do for the day, I would rather eat on the go
  8. Alrighty first day down! I'm going to up the ante a little bit, so I'm going to walk every day rather than 3 times a week Since I have to walk to class anyways, so increasing the walking shouldn't be a problem. I did have breakfast this morning, while it was not the best breakfast (roasted chickpeas) but it was breakfast I went for my walk, and looked at my fit bit and realized I walked 8.54 km today woot! As for my willpower book I realized I didn't follow through with the last chapter I read so I need to pause on the reading and redo last chapter but other wise a good first day!
  9. Hey! Thanks I appreciate that and the same goes for help anything goes Although cat and dog gifs are much appreciated
  10. Took a lot of courage for me to even type this up because I know I'm late BUT if I don't start now when will I ever start? Like it says this is my first challenge and my goals for this four weeks are: 1) Go for a 10 minute walk at least 3x a week 2) Do pilates on Fridays and the weekend (if possible) 3) Have breakfast every morning 4) Start reading my willpower book I hope things go well for me wish me luck!!
  11. Hey Rosel! Glad to see we have good tastes And it would be amazing if we could keep in contact and we could be buddies - Elizabeth
  12. Hey there! Being a part of this community was both exciting and scary for me, being a part of any social media I tend to hide out in the background and watch other people do amazing things. In terms of health and fitness the same applies, I have always wanted to be healthy but I hid and watched everyone else do things and hoped by mitosis I would somehow gain that same level of health. I obviously know this does not work and so I am hoping that being around this community will keep me accountable to everything I want to accomplish this year. On that note this is a bit about me: My name is Melissa, I am 23 years old and I live in Canada I am 5’3 and weigh in at 254 lbs I love the Legend of Zelda series and love to play Minecraft Being a university student of english I love to read and have always enjoyed playing DND This year a few things I want to accomplish are: Lose 25% of my body weight (63 lbs) Make exercising a priority in my life by doing physical activity at least 3 times a week Perk up the courage to go to the gym Hopefully, I will hear from you guys soon!
