  1. So about 6 weeks ago I broke my wrist while Mountain Biking, and I put back on 20 lbs. During my recovery time I started weight watchers and brought 10lbs back off, and as soon as the Doc clears me I'll be back on my bike. I've also spent this last week doing research and I believe once I'm cleared I'm going to give Crossfit a try as well. I'm thinking that it will be close to mid September before I'm actually cleared but until then I will continue to utilize weight watchers and walk. Pericles Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  2. Sorry, meant to post this in The Pub
  3. Hello everyone, So starting in April I've signed up for a D&D Adventure Leauge. I plan on playing more seriously than if I was playing with a group of friends (Attempting to actually role play a bit) The character that I have decided I want to play is a Goliath Barbarian. I'm a big fan of critical role so that influenced my decision just a bit lol. Anyway, I'm trying to decide on a serious name for this character (Something catchy like Grog Strongjaw, of course lol) and I'm hitting a wall with names at this point. I would like to ask the rebellion if they could help me come up with a name. Thanks, Pericles
  4. So I know why I've gained weight recently, I'm building muscle once more. And I know at the beginning you will gain a little before the muscle starts to burn the fat reserves. However even though I know this, it is still somewhat discouraging. So I need to learn to push through this mental barrier and break through this time. To many times in the past do I almost make it...and then fucking stop! two years ago I made it to 264 from 285 and then I just stopped after the Spartan race. I need to somehow trick my brain into continuing the work after I reach a milestone. Thankfully Nerd Fitness does help with that in regards to the quest and I'm extremely grateful for that! This time I will make it, I will live a healthy and fit life and I will follow my dreams. Sorry I know this was a bit ranty but I think I just need to clear my head more than anything and concentrate. I'm very very thankful for the Rebellion! Pericles
  5. Pericles

    Food Log

Thank you both for the advice. I was on the fence about it, but that is defiantly something I feel like I need to track then. I work at a desk job that doesn't allow drinks at our desk (even bottled) so I will start tracking that as well.
  6. Pericles

    Food Log

I have a simple question about the Food Log that I'm creating. Should I write down glasses/bottles of water I consume as well? Thanks, Pericles
  7. That...um...sounds...artery clogging! Haha. Although I have met people in my life that will eat a can worth of whipped cream for a meal lol.
  8. I've always loved DBZ workout gear. https://www.justsaiyan.co/
  9. That's a pretty good comparison, I'm trying out plain carbonated water to try and kick my habit. I still get my caffeine from coffee and tea, but I think for the most part i miss the fizziness lol.
  10. I watched the first season, and thought it was fantastic! Went and bought the second season and haven't watched it yet lol. I'll need to set some time aside for it here in the near future.
  11. Thank you for the warm welcomes. I plan on setting some time aside tomorrow to check out the 4 week challenges. I just signed up for the Heroes Rising. Seems like a very interesting why to level up my life, so I will definitely be working towards both. Pericles
  12. Hi everyone, My name is Jake aka "Pericles". I have read articles from Nerd Fitness for roughly a year now, but I figured it was a time to dive in. I've been interested in fitness for a good portion of my life. Started lifting weights/bodyweight training for Football when I was 15. However as i moved off to college my discipline went right out the window. If i wasn't in class was was playing games, drinking beer, and eating fat burger. I gained probably 100 lbs during that time, maxing out somewhere just north of 300. For the last 5 years my health has been something that I have focused on, all be it not so successfully. I've managed to get myself back down to roughly 270 (I go up and down from there depending on the time of year or if I'm being lazy or not). In these last 5 years though I have become much more active again than I was. I enjoy things like mountain biking, BMX biking(Not so good at BMX :P), and Judo. I've also managed to complete a Spartan Sprint, and a Warrior Dash along the way. My primary set back that I deal with year after year is my nutrition. I will do well for a bit and then tell myself that I can take a break and just treat myself for a bit. Always bites me in the ass! I would ultimately love to get back down to 200lbs. I have taken some steps to create some quest on my character sheet, however I need to sit down and take some time to add more. I look forward to working with the Rebels, and I will level up my life this time! Pericles
