  1. Tuesday's Battle Log 2/21/2017 Diet Breakfast: cinnamon roll, bottle of milk Lunch: whopper, strawberry frappe Snacks: lots of water Dinner: 2 eggs, chicken Fitness Exercise: 25 minutes elliptical Life Studied Spanish - up to Level 7 on Duolingo! Cosplay None End Result: Spent some extra time on Duolingo to make up for missing on Monday. Went to the gym with the boyfriend, but he accidentally broke my headphones. I didn't realize how necessary headphones are to really get the ideal workout. All I could hear was these obnoxious tweens making a racket behind me. Isn't there supposed to be an age limit at the gym???
  2. Sunday's Battle Log 2/19/2017 Diet Breakfast: Lunch: Sausage McGriddle, 1/2 frappe Snacks: 1 cup milk, 2 small pieces of fish Dinner: taco salad, 2 cups lemonade Fitness Exercise: 1.5 hour hike Life None Cosplay None End Result: Went hiking per usual, although we had a late start due to technical hours. By the time we got there, a light rain had already passed leaving everything over heated and humid, so it wasn't enjoyable. The boyfriend and I also invited some friends to join us, so the usual workout turned more into a scenic hike... not as effective. Better luck next time. Monday's Battle Log 2/20/2017 Diet Breakfast: Lunch: 2 eggs, 3 pieces of bacon, 2 breakfast sausage pattys, 1 cup lemonade Snacks: 1 cup orange Koolaid, mostly water Dinner: chicken parmesan, water Fitness Exercise: Life None Cosplay Small tweaking to Codex. Will have to wait until I have more money to redo the back of the dress. End Result: Cosplay progress hasn't been as productive as I would hope. The pattern I used wasn't long enough for my torso, and so I've tried to piece together seams to make it fit... which in turn makes it look terrible in quality. I finally decided that I wasn't satisfied with frankensteining pieces, and will have to wait for my paycheck to buy an extra yard of fabric to fix the back half of the dress. Because of that, I can't really move forward with the embellishments and trim. In other news, I have a new app on my phone that reminds me to drink water. It's super cute, called Plant Nanny. Every time I drink some water, the plant gets some water. If I don't drink, it'll die I guess? Not sure.
  3. Friday's Battle Log 2/17/2017 Diet Breakfast: Venti cinnamon dolce frappe from Starbuck's, sausage and cheese sandwhich w/o bread Lunch: beef and green bean stir fry, 1 cup lemonade Snacks: 1 small chocolate bar (120 calories), 1 cup sweet tea Dinner: 2 slices of pepperoni pizza, 2 cups lemonade Fitness Exercise: 40 mins elliptical Life None Cosplay None End Result: Free pizza. Can't turn down free food when you're broke. Saturday's Battle Log 2/18/2017 Diet Breakfast: none Lunch: 4 small pieces of baked fish, water Snacks: 1 cup milk Dinner: whopper burger and fries from Burger King, 1 sweet tea Fitness Exercise: light walking Life Participated in a murder mystery Cosplay Adjusted sewing form, minimal progress on Codex dress End Result:
  4. FOUR WEEK CHALLENGE: Week One Diet Drink one glass of water a day ✓ NO SODA ✓ Reduce sweets/carbs consumption by 50% ✓ Fitness 2 hour hike once a week ✓ Strength training once a week X 30 minute gym exercise 3 times a week ✓ Life Wake up early. Must be out of bed by 7:00 AM X Whiten teeth with extra flossing and whitening toothpaste. (No more whitening strips!) ✓ Study Spanish (via Duolingo) for 20 minutes a day whenever in the office. ✓ Have a family meal once a week X Put away $15 every paycheck into London savings NA Cosplay Finish Kate Bishop Finish Codex Attend one DCM League Event Update instagram once a day! ✓ For one week, I did pretty well. Strength training didn't happen, but it was more timing than anything. It was shoved out of the way for Valentine's Day, then the next day was dealing with a resident's passing away and uncle passing away... so life happens. I haven't met my goal of waking up at 7:00AM, but I've been getting up earlier... from my normal 7:20 to 7:10. Family meal hasn't happened because of tangled schedules, though I have managed dinner with both the boyfriend and roommate separately. No savings yet since I haven't been paid. My cosplay work is falling behind, mostly because my weekends are now split between cosplay, personal errands, housekeeping, and hiking. I'll be lucky to even have one done, much less both. I'm scheduled to attend the DCM event for the movie premiere of Logan, which is March 3, I think? Instagram is on point. Here's to week two!
  5. This will be my first challenge, so I want to be careful with overwhelming myself... but I find that I work better under pressure and if I find that I have to hold myself accountable to other people. So here's to kicking ass in the next 4 weeks! FOUR WEEK CHALLENGE: FEB 12 – MARCH 11 Diet Drink one glass of water a day NO SODA Reduce sweets/carbs consumption by 50% Fitness 2 hour hike once a week Strength training once a week 30 minute gym exercise 3 times a week Life Wake up early. Must be out of bed by 7:00 AM Whiten teeth with extra flossing and whitening toothpaste. (No more whitening strips!) Study Spanish (via Duolingo) for 20 minutes a day whenever in the office. Have a family meal once a week Put away $15 every paycheck into London savings Cosplay Finish Kate Bishop Finish Codex Attend one DCM League Event Update instagram once a day! So far I've been working up to this game plan, and have kept up with 2 gym workouts a week and one soda a week. I've already drastically reduced carbs/sugar from my normal diet and intend to continue that pattern. I'm horrible at waking up early, which will prove to be a challenge of its own but will be necessary to start the day on a better foot and accomplish everything I want. My biggest concerns at completing the goals I set for myself will be the London Savings and finishing Codex, because of my limited finances. This is why it's called a challenge... and I will do my best!
  6. This are mostly personal musings, but it'll help me hold myself accountable by writing in daily. The more focused I am on my goals, the more likely they'll come to fruition. Current Stats: Female | 26 | 230 lbs. Class: Rebel | Level: 2 Fitness Goals: Mon: at home workout | Tues-Thurs: 30 minute gym workout | Fri: at home workout | Sat: rest | Sunday: 15 minute outdoor walk Diet Goals: Reduce soda to one a day | Reduce carbs by 50% | Drink more water Life Goals: Practice Spanish 15 minutes a day - 5 days a week | Social interaction at minimum once a week Cosplay Goals: Complete Kate Bishop's Hawkeye uniform by the end of January That's not too hard... but it is a lot. I'll be taking baby steps so as to not trip into failure as I have done so in the past. So far in 2017, I've kept up a 2 nights a week at the gym goal. I've had an average of 1-3 social hang outs a week, and Hawkeye is halfway done. I'll most likely do daily reports the following day, since I have most free time when I'm in my office. (I work real estate management.) It's unlikely for me to update on the weekends, because I try to not touch my computer for fear of distracting myself from more important projects (cosplay work or cleaning house.) My past is riddled with bad computer addiction (spending 10+ hours a day online playing WOW or useless internet surfing) and so I've reduced my computer usage by 90% outside of work. My phone usage still trips me up, but nowhere near as bad. But yeah. Here goes it. Monday's Battle Log 1/23/2017 Breakfast: Cereal Lunch: Chicken and green bean stir fry, soda Snacks: Beef Jerky, 3 cups of orange juice, 1 cup coffee Dinner: 2 mini hamburgers with cheese, onion, lettuce. I waited for about 40 minutes and was still starving, so I ate a bowl of cereal. Exercise: 20 minutes walking on property and up and down staircases Pros: Weighed myself and saw that I have lost 2.5 lbs. since my last weigh in, felt incredibly motivated despite the lack of energy Cons: Sleeping horribly, consistently hungry - even shortly after eating, drank a soda because of time constraints, didn't follow the strength training email from NF because I was so exhausted and went straight to bed after work, disregarded the reminder from Duolingo and forgot all about my Spanish lesson End Result: obviously more cons than pros. I'm eating healthier and making better choices (even denying the free biscuits and doughnuts offered at work) but I'm not used to feeling non-stop hungry. I've tried chewing gum as a substitute, but my resolve is only so strong. Munching on peanuts and beef jerky helps... but only for maybe 20 minutes till I feel hungry again. Besides the hungry struggle, it's also incredibly difficult to stock the pantry with healthy food options when my budget is so minimal. After paying bills, I have maybe $200 left to cover groceries, cosplay supplies, and any other needs that pop up. Being poor is really cramping my style. I'm working with what I have.
