  1. Also, if you're like me and you sit all day for work, it really does help to try and be mindful about your sitting posture and to also break up bouts of sittings about every 30mins or so. I have a reminder on my laptop that pops up every half hour telling me to get up and take a short walk or stretch.
  2. https://www.t-nation.com/training/tip-improve-thoracic-spine-mobility(John Rusin) I've used these in my warm ups and if done consistently they could help with t-spine mobility a bit. https://www.t-nation.com/training/tip-target-the-lower-traps(Lee Boyce) Usually I'll do some YTW movements during warmups but the exercises in this article could be of some use to you as well. (PS there's a lot of junk on t-nation but these two particular coaches usually put out good info)
  3. No problem, I forgot to take part in this last challenge period so I've been waiting around until the next one to start posting more. I'm just glad I was able to participate and set some new PRs
  4. So this is my first time ever "competing" in a strength sport and I'm really glad I did... Age:28 Weight: 261# / 118Kg Squat: Attempt #1: 385# / 174.63Kg Attempt #2: 410# / 185.97Kg Attempt #3: 425# / 192.78Kg(PR) Bench: Attempt #1: 335# / 151.95Kg Attempt #2: 350# / 158.76Kg(ties PR) Attempt #3: 355# / 161.03Kg X Deadlift: Attempt #1: 535# / 242.67Kg Attempt #2: 565# / 256.28Kg X Attempt #3: 565# / 256.28Kg (PR) Summary: Squat moved surprisingly good this morning. I've had issues with my right knee for a few years so I usually play it safe when I squat, but i honestly felt like I had a lot more in the tank beyond that final attempt. Bench was kinda meh and i honestly didn't expect to get anything above my current PR, which is exactly what happened. I was able to get a 15# PR on deadlift on my first attempt, however the second attempt was really sloppy causing me to miss. After evaluating that second rep i was able to key in on what i needed to adjust and the thirst attempt at the same weight went up with no problem. This was really fun and hopefully I'll be brave to enter a real lift PL competition in the near future. I'll have videos on my IG page if anyone wants to check them out (except for the 2nd bench attempt, I forgot to press record but i have an older video of that same weight on the page too)
  5. I appreciate the welcome. I'll definitely have to sit down and write out some goals for the challenge section because I have some major changes that need to happen in my life right about now. I'll make sure to check yours out as well. Thanks again!
  6. Thanks I can never narrow it down to just one character but I've always been a fan of black panther, hulk, Colossus, magneto (his is a power I'd definitely love to have), among others. What about you?
  7. Haha yeah that comes from being dumb when I was younger and only thinking bench mattered. So I've been playing catch up with my other lifts for the last few years smh But thanks for the welcome ✌️
  8. I've always been too chicken to enter an actual PL competition. Maybe if I give this a go it'll lead to competing in real life???
  9. So I've been a frequent visitor of nerd fitness for probably the last 5-6 years, but since I've never really been forum person I basically just stuck to reading articles. However I decided today that I'd stop being just a spectator and give being part of the NF community a try... I'm a 28 year old father, husband, and computer programmer (graduated in 2011 BS in computer science, been programming software ever since). In my younger days I was a multi-sport athlete but nowadays I mainly focus on lifting while participating in basketball and ultimate frisbee leagues here and there. Currently I've been focusing on getting stronger with the big three lifts while trying to shed undesired body fat. On the nerdier side, I've been a gamer practically my whole life and I'm a big Harry Potter (Ravenclaw house) and Marvel/comics fan. I've also slowly began to get back into anime a bit more(patiently waiting for AOT and 1 Punch Man to return) but it's kinda tough when my 3 year old wants to control every tv in the house Anyway, I don't want to start rambling since this is just an introduction but I'm excited to meet some new folks and see where this goes. Thanks!
