  1. I have been ridiculously ridiculously RIDICULOUSLY busy, so no updates for me. Work got insane pretty much overnight. Ok, just letting everyone know I'm alive
  2. Well I am feeling much better than I did last week but I can tell my body is SO weak. I did some light gardening yesterday and it pretty much sapped my energy. I also moved to 4-10 hour days so by the end of the day my brain just stops working. I will be starting a little light yoga this week to help me work on balance and my stress levels. I have done decently well eating Paleo, maybe 80-20. It's not as great as I's like, but baby steps!! I need to get healthy and get back into the swing of things!
  3. Ugh I have the flu. It's pretty much decimated my week eating and exercise wise. I will update
  4. Over the weekend I didn't have my best eating. I got pretty carbed up between beer and various foods. Not too terrible but I could have done better. Also, I did end up getting my dryer fixed all by myself!!!!!!! What a hassle. Now I can get all that laundry and organizing done!!! Lifting tonight! I'm going to start going heavy of deadlifts.
  5. That is so sweet! I am going to try one more time tomorrow and I will let you know if I need any help!
  6. Well, I work full time and I do alright, but I definitely can't afford something new right now. So this is more by necessity, as I am running out of of pants that fit (I rely on my dryer to shrink my pants). Also my house looks like a Chinese laundry as I have things draped over every available surface drying. So, don't fret! Also, youtube is your friend, you can find tutorials on just about anything.
  7. Day 3: Eggs. Vegetables. Meat. Water. repeat! Lifted. Going to up weights next week! Misc: I never got my running shoes--we got terrible storms last night and I didn't go out. Hopefully this weekend. I did, however, get a new belt for my dryer, took the dryer apart and spent an hour trying to get the belt on. The belt has hardly any elasticity and I have to tension it on a pully arm but it's impossible to hook the pully where it needs to go because its tensioned already. It looks like I have to take the back off to find an access panel and hopefully with more room to work (ie not pinching my arm between the drum and the side) I might be able to muscle it in. Fixing my dryer myself has been time consuming but the belt was only 20 bucks vs hundreds if I had called somebody in to fix it. Plus, I hate to pay for services that I can figure out myself, and I like to learn useful skills. Hopefully I can get it fixed tonight after work! I count this as a declutter and house-based goal of my challenge
  8. That's a tough issue. You didn't give a lot of details so I'm not sure of the scope of the situation. If your relationship is generally ok in other areas, I think you should to have a good attitude and be thankful for a loving husband. I am not very touchy feel either but I also know how it feels to have someone withdraw and it's so painful. If you shut him down over and over again he WILL withdraw. My opinion on 'getting better at it' is to try to find a way to compromise. Try physical touch with a heart full of love for your husband because you know it makes him feel fulfilled. That's what the 5 Love Languages suggests, even doing many smaller things throughout the day as kind of a grand gesture. After a while it will become second nature. If your relationship is not exactly great in other areas: Now you need to be honest with yourself. You sound angry and hurt and I can understand that. Is your aversion to physical touch with your husband tied in any way to an actual aversion to your husband? What is it that makes you feel loved most of all that you wish he did? Have you told him verbatim about this? I do not know what your physical relationship is like with your husband but remember he cannot force you to do anything, even as your husband. If he continually is forceful with you (even in a non-sexual way) despite your voiced objections please consider seeking help. A man who is overly forceful with his wife despite objections shows signs of an abuser, or in the very least a serious D-Bag. If he ignores you over and over again in a cruel way there may be deeper issues 1-800-799-SAFE is a National Domestic Violence Hotline. I'm not saying that there is something like that going on but like I said I don't have a lot of detail so I want you to have the option should you need it. On a lighter note, sometimes men are just dumb about stuff like that. Sometimes you need to be verbatim and firm and leave nothing to interpretation. If you sit him down and firmly tell him I love you, but I DO NOT LIKE THIS, he should respond. Sometimes you just have to repeat until the light goes on.
  9. Make sure to update in the future after you've had the shoes for a bit. I'm interested to see how they work for you.
  10. I saw Beauty and the Beast in 3D, and I was officially the oldest person there without a child. I'm pretty sure Beast would eat Paleo, even with those lovable kitchen helpers. Must go watch Beauty and the Beast...........
  11. No matter what you should be very proud of you accomplishments and how hard you have worked!
  12. Fun story: I had a year old parking ticket I didn't know about and then A WARRANT OUT FOR MY ARREST. Ticket paid promptly.
  13. Sleep is so important. I made it a priority and I can tackle my day so much better! Good luck on your goals. Work hard and you will succeed!
  14. If I have to vote for real, I say Scotticus' quote as I find it more poignant, assuming he's ok with us jacking it. Second fave is "The iron never lies"
  15. Mir are you from Fowlerville? How do you feel about the 'Easy Rider Rodeo' hahaha.....I was there in 2010.......somebody punched my back window out and there was a lot of nudity. It's a story for another time! The 9th it is!
  16. Don't threaten me with a good time!! Today has been horrible, I want to set my office on fire and go home. Maybe I will stop by my local home improvement store just to sniff the air and feel better.
  17. I have a similar goal of de-cluttering, so I feel your pain! WE GOT THIS!
  18. Woodworking is a (under-developed) hobby of mine. If I had my choice I'd be the female Norm Abrams
  19. Oh man, I am pumped to do this!!!!!! What a great idea
  20. St. Clair Shores, what what! I am planning on outdoor running. I am planning on a 5k later this summer! I live in the country on a little lake and I have beautiful places to run so I should capitalize! I just wanted to bust into evil laughter, and also see what it would dissolve. I smell an experiment (and it smells caustic)
  21. I know what you mean, Kelly. I just want to sort of burn it to the ground and re-build Day 2 Identical food to day 1....I cook in bulk. No Lifting. Misc: Per my goals, I began reorganizing things in my house. My desk wanted to be refinished so I got some super sweet chemical concoction that strips paint in a serious way. It was fun/skin burning. I am still working on stripping the multiple layers of paint and stain before I sand, stain and shellac it. I will post some before/afters when it is done. Also, tonight I go get fitted for some proper running shoes to begin another of my goals- C25k program. Wish me luck!
  22. What about "Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!"--Albus Dumbledore No??
