  1. Kids can be hard, but it sounds like you worked things out in a way where everyone felt better afterwards.
  2. Yoga this morning: Yoga for back pain relief & flexibility - 18 minutes (I don't have a whole lot to say about this, except that it was a bit boring.)
  3. I've been reading The Perfect Health Diet, and rice is part of the plan in this one. It's not quite paleo or primal (obviously), but there is a lot of science backing in the book. I think it would be a lot easier for me to follow, because my body wants to have more starches, and rice is relatively harmless.
  4. I was a bit behind on threads, and there was a lot of catching up to do with yours. I can't even remember now all I wanted to say. I do remember awesome progress pics, awesome crossfit workouts, and all around awesome stuff. I can feel your frustration with the double unders. Sometimes I feel that way with yoga poses, but it just helps to remember it's all a process. I will just keep getting better and eventually be able to do the things I want to do. Or not. Maybe I'll never get there, and that's okay. Life will still go on, and I will just focus on all the things I can do.
  5. Okay, so evening yoga: Crow Flow - 30 minutes ( I loved this one, and moved it to my favorite yoga workout list. I can do crow pose, but definitely need more work on it to make it better. I still have lots of work to do to get to side crow, and forget about the fallen angel arm balance at this point. But that's what I love about it. It gives me something to work towards. The instructor was also really good. I liked her reminders throughout the video.)
  6. There are so many great videos on YouTube. I feel like at this point there's no way I'd pay for yoga since I can get such a variety for free. I do feel really content. I'm glad that's shining through.
  7. I don't know if there are any recipe sites specifically for that. I probably need to keep some kind of journal going to see what makes it worse and what I need to avoid, or at least eat less. The dermatologist said it's a chronic condition, so it will never really go away, but she did give me some prescriptions to help with it. I have both the redness and the bumps. She gave me a cream for redness that is pretty amazing. I put it on, and almost instantly the redness was pretty much gone. I felt like my skin was so pale because I'm used to rosy cheeks. So hopefully the medication will help it look better. I forgot to take a picture earlier, so I could compare and see how the medication was working. So I'm not going to use any more of it today, and take a picture in the morning. The cream for the redness doesn't last, you have to keep using it every day, as the redness starts coming back within around 12 hours.
  8. It's so nice to see you back! I think starting with smaller goals is the way to go. Good luck with your job situation.
  9. Thanks guys! I went to the dermatologist today and found out I have rosacea, which I suspected. I was given a big long list of foods that can make it worse, among which are things like avocados, citrus fruits, tomatoes, spinach, and chocolate, all of which I love. And hot baths aren't good for it either, and that is my main relaxation time. So I'll have to be watching those things to see if any of them makes it worse. There are some things I'm not willing to cut out, though, even if they are bad for me, like avocados. It was really rainy today, but stopped later in the day and warmed up a bit, so I was able to go outside for a little bit.
  10. I did do it in the last Browncoat thread, though. I just didn't want to be redundant.
  11. Meditating is hard. I always feel like there's so much other stuff I'd rather be doing than just sitting there.
  12. I don't really care for quinoa. I'd much rather have rice, or if it's morning time some other type of grain. I know it's supposed to be really healthy, but I just can't bring myself to really like it.
  13. Last night's evening yoga was just doing some yoga (10 minutes) on my own. My 7 year old son wanted to do yoga with me, so we worked on some different poses. He was especially excited about lotus pose. Morning yoga: YOGAmazing for Flexibility - 20 minutes (This was a nice video, but this instructor is not as good as others about explaining things. He'll say "make sure you open up and lengthen here", but if you're not looking at the video constantly, you don't know what "here" means.)
  14. That's pretty much what I changed mine to.
  15. You've made some amazing progress! Keep it up!
  16. The weather is gorgeous today, so I went for a nice, long walk. Half way through I took off my flannel, and was warm enough in just a t-shirt. It was wonderful.
  17. Morning yoga Morning yoga for flexibility - 7 minutes (Did not care for this one. She moves way too fast to actually do anything to help flexibility. I don't think we were in any one stretch longer than 5 seconds, and most were only for a second or two.) Vinyasa yoga sun salutations - 5 minutes (This wasn't anything really special, although it was a bit different from most sun salutations I've done.) Yoga for the splits - 8 minutes (I did the stretches for both legs, but did not go into the splits, because I'm nowhere close. I'll probably try to do this more often since it really does work the flexibility in the legs.)
  18. That's a nice idea. Yes, that's exactly it. Lucky for me, today looks to be nice and warm again.
  19. I may need to re-think my outdoor goal, or at least having to do it every day. The whole purpose was to get outside and enjoy the weather and just being out of the house. But it got really cold again, and rainy. I tried to go outside today, thinking that because I had it for a goal I needed to do it. It is just miserably cold. Yes, I could bundle up and go outside for 10 minutes, but that's not really what my goal's about. So I'm going to have to tweak it a bit.
  20. Well, that works too. Nothing like a good dance party, even if it's just with yourself.
  21. I did chorewars with my kids for awhile. It was fun. We never do stick with anything very long around here, though, so that fell by the wayside.
  22. I am still irrationally believing in your success. Also, there's probably people out there who have it better than you, maybe lots better. That doesn't mean you should never share the positive things in your life, right? It works both ways.
  23. So I was reading along with your gravy story, thinking yum, mashed potatoes and gravy. And then you lost me with the chicken snot, and I feel like it'll be a long time before I want to eat any type of gravy again. As for dinner ideas, you could do burgers (without the bun). You can top plain burgers with all kinds of fatty stuff, or stuff them with fatty stuff.
  24. So sorry you're not feeling well! Take it easy today. Everything will still be there tomorrow.
  25. So did you get your yoga in then, Twibble?
