  1. Hi eveyone ! I hope I didn't put my post in the wrong category ^^; So, all is in the title : I'd like some help to create an IRL Epic Quest that'd match my online one. I created a character, Ashy Pearl, whose story is one of a young woman who's craving for revenge let her to hurt innocent people. After realizing what she had done, she had decided to spend all her time and energy to improving herself, getting better at being kind and caring. I see myself in this character. While I have no need for a revenge, I sure would like to be more serene and kind in my everyday life. Apart from that, I'd like to improve my lifestyle and become healthier. As I started working in January, I also would like to learn how to budget. So, long story short : I want to be a better person in a lot of aspect. That's why the Epic Quest seems to be a great tool ! But... I have no idea how to implement it IRL, how to connect the character to the person I am, and how to maybe use the forum as a tool to narrate the progress my persona and myself observe. For those who'd like to see my character sheet, there it is : https://www.nerdfitness.com/character/181208 There are improvements to make, I am aware of that Have a nice day/evening/night
  2. Hi @Halo and thanks for your reply! I only drink water, I used to have health problems when I was little so I make sure I drink 2 liters a day. Apart from water I drink tea, coffee and chicory. I'm not supposed to eat at work so rice cakes were great since they were scentless (I work at the reception of a big corporation, a lot of people come by during the day) and easy to eat stealthily What other snacks would you recommend? I have an app that counts calories on my Android phone, it's FatSecret. No idea if it's a good one, it's the only one I know but if you can recommend another one I'm all ears ^^
  3. Hi everyone ! I hope I'm in the right place to ask this : I'd love to have some advices about my current lifestyle, what I could do to improve it, what I'm doing good and what I'm doing bad ^^ I'm 171cm (5.61tf if I trust google) and around 85kg (187 lbs, gosh that looks like a lot compared to kgs !!) and would like to lose weight and to be generally more healthy. So, I work 5 days a week from 1PM to 8:30PM. I try to get up around 7:30 when my boyfriend leaves home but I usually fail since I feel I didn't get enough sleep. I wanted to apply the miracle morning routine but if there's one thing to know about me, it's that I can't do routines. Not one bit. Even with discipline I won't stand more than 3 weeks of the same thing, then I get awfully bored and it becomes almost physically painful to continue. I usually have a homemade smoothie for breakfast : an orange, a banana, an egg, some vegetal milk (I'm lactose intolerant) and some oatmeal mixed altogether, with a cup of decaf. I walk for 15 minutes, maybe 20, before and after taking the bus. I eat a homemade lunch (mostly steam-cooked veggies, some pasta/rice/couscous, and some vege proteins like tofu, homemade lentil/beans steak) and an apple. I used to eat a bit once at work, especially since by 6PM I feel very hungry. I also used to have a health problem which made my stomach hurt like hell whenever I was hungry. I bought some cereal bars, then replaced them with rice cake. Now that my stomach doesn't hurt anymore I can bare the hunger and wait until 9:30 when I'm home for diner. Sometimes I bike for 5 minutes or walk for 10 minutes on my way home. I have no diner habits since it's my boyfriend who cooks (or reheat something I cooked). We're used to light diners like a cup of soup or some cheese and bread, or a bowl of rice. (I should add that I started working last September and before maybe Febuary I didn't have any eating habit whatsoever so my diet was pretty unhealthy, I try to keep eating healthy now though ; but it's pretty recent) That's the thing you see : my boyfriend and I are used to eat pleasant (and most of the time unhealthy) meals when we are together. He said a few times that he wanted to lose a little bit of weight but he isn't long-term-ish about it. We would eat veggies and homemade meals for diner for a week, and then during the weekend, tons of cheese, bacon and eggs, cereals... So I manage to eat healthy food by myself (not ALL the time, I get tempted from time to time...) but when we are together it's way more complicated. During a typical week, I weight myself everyday (just for the fun of making graphs), and I can see my weight reaching 84 kgs on my lowest and 88 on my highest... in one week ! Okay, this is becoming way too long, so I'll stop here. Thanks to anyone who comes by and reads the whole stuff, and I hope someone can give me some nice advices ^^ Have a nice day/evening/night everyone !
  4. Hi everyone and thank you so much for your welcoming words!! @malikash, your words touched me deeply, thank you so much @Guzzi Hi! I've been around the forum and well there's so much stuff it's hard to know where to look. I looked into the 4 weeks challenge and it looks a lot like what I've already done on my character sheet : I've put my lifelong goals (walk everyday, stretch everyday, meditate everyday, avoid getting unfairly angry or avoid buying sweets from the bakery) As an example, here's what I wrote: "Walk (at least) 10 minutes per day, YEAR 1, MONTH 1, WEEK 1". In the report log, I write each day if I did it or not. I'm initially supposed to gain 14 XP (2 per day) but if I only do it 5 days in the week, I'll get 10 XP. Then I'll do the same for week 2, etc. for as long as I can, so that I can keep a track of my progress. I may join the next 4 weeks challenge, it's gives me time to prepare it ^^ Is there a particular place in the forum where I could ask for advices related to my current lifestyle and goals ? I'd love some advices ^^ Have a nice day/evening/night everyone !
  5. Hi KitsuNeko and thanks for your welcome message I don't think I have started a challenge yet, I have no idea what that is. So far I've begun organizing my epic quests so that I can determine the lifelong habits I want to develop and deconstruct them. I'll go check around on the forum when I have some free time later today, do you have some specific topics you would advise me to read? Have a nice day !
  6. Hi everyone ! I'm new here, I found the whole Nerd Fitness thing last Friday and joined kinda for fun, because I was bored at work. But I've been back at my character sheet on Monday and saw all the potential this had for me to change a lot about myself. I'm a French girl, I work at the reception in a big corporation and live not far from work with my boyfriend and our ferret. Now that it's finally sunny again, I started walking again while playing pokemon go. Instead of taking the bus to work, I walk 10 minutes (minimum) per day and when I get back home I bike for 5 minutes. It's pretty much all the sport I do. I'm overweight (85kg for 171 cm) and would like to get healthier. I've overcome so many obstacles in my life already :social anxiety, depression, agoraphobia... I've overcome all of that and I'm only 24. But now that my mind in somewhat healthy, I want to do the same with my body. Enough having pain in my knees or my ankles because of my weight, enough being disappointed when I want to put on a pretty dress, enough feeling like I could be and do so much more. I hope I can find here what I'm looking for, we'll see I guess Have a nice day/evening/night !
