  1. Glad you liked it!!! I tried it once, but settled on Teleskiing instead. See you out on the snow!!!!!
  2. I set two, not one- but two challenges with the goal of the following: 8 hours sleep-done Pass my ACP-FINALLY DONE!!!!!! Do a pullup-done Today, I finally passed my ACP and completed the 3rd leg of my challenge. I didn't even post the 3rd challenge, as I was too busy trying to accomplish my goals. Albeit 5 months late, but I'm totally stoked! It was from the inspiration on this board, and the inspiration I get from the successes of all of you that I got my superpower abilities to accomplish these three things! Thanks Guys!!!!! Lisl
  3. Well, I succeeded in one goal-sleep. I have gotten up to almost 8 hours now! Failed on the KM test -decided to cease practicing KM (I refuse to say the Q word) failed on the pull up. I am about 3/4 of the way there, can do one from about 3/4 down, but not full extension. Next challenge! Failed on the agile test. Never even got to it. oh well. maybe next challenge i'll do better :-( Lisl
  4. Way to go Jimmy!!!!! Lisl ps- you have great beer taste! Ich Liebst Schlenkara Rauche biere!
  5. Congrats!!!! I am working on trying to do pullups too. This is my second challenge and I'm almost there. I can do a straight pullup from about 2/3 of the way down- now to get to full extension! Welcome to the Rangers! Lisl
  6. I'm in!!!! I live in Stafford, but work in DC and Springfield is on the way home. We need to do something soon!!!! Lisl
  7. Well, I did the test. Good news: I didn't quit and I stayed in the fight the entire time giving it my all. I did not run out of gas! Bad news: I was lacking in several skills and failed in technique. So I have to make a decision after I heal up to whether to continue KM or just do crossfit (I jacked my elbow pretty good and got my L1 rib bruised-so not fun), so I'm out about a month letting those two things healed. I'm thinking about just giving up on the KM because it's taking such a toll on my body. I'm seriously hurting today, but I do like it and hate being defeated, but to put myself through another 6 hour test, not sure if I can physically take it without jacking something else up. I am 48 and have lupus, so it's not easy on me and the joints which are weakened. I love my body too much to subject it to so much abuse. KM is a tough sport and frankly, i'm tired of always being bruised up. Anyway, haven't slept in 2 days because i've been so achy, so that's kind of gone to hell, but hoping as some of this soreness eases, I can get some sleep. I've been popping ibeprophen like candy which I NEVER do- that's how much soreness I have. Uggg. This too will pass. I am proud of myself for continuing on though. About halfway through the instructors quit grading me and I realized I failed. I could have just walked away, but instead, I continued to give 100% and try to get as many moves as clean as I could muster right to the end. I wanted to finish what I started and fuck em if I fail. I succeeded in my mind so screw everyone else. My technique may not have been book perfect, but the end result was still the same- I escaped and didn't just stop in the middle of a move because it was wrong. I cried the entire way home. So not happy with myself. My biggest problem was I didn't know the names of some of the moves, so when I went, I wasn't sure what they wanted and I seemed to always pick the wrong one and I got the "thats not what I asked for". Instant failure. Just dont' have the memory for that kind of stuff. Oh well. Its over and it is what it is. Lisl
  8. Ok- two days to the L3 Test. Uggg... I've tapered down, tonight I do a light run and tomorrow is rest. I've drank a copious amount of water today and have been eating clean all week. I'm as ready as I'm going to be. Tonight and tommorrow night hubby is sleeping in the spare bedroom so I can get a full 8.5 hours of sleep each night with no disruptions. Sleep goal has been accomplished!!!!!! On the pull ups, I can now do an unassisted pullup from about halfway up. Now I will start lowering myself little by little to get a pullup from full extension. Very satisfied with this goal. As far as the agile, still nothing. I think this goal is a complete failure, but now that two of my goals are accomplished, I can really concentrate on this during the holidays when things are slow. I guess no one reads this stuff, but oh well. It keeps me focused and accountable so whatever. Lisl
  9. Had a bit of setback. Had a gall stone attack on Monday and only got in 2 hours yesterday at Krav and now I have a stupid xmas party to do tonight. So, I am going to Crossfit tomorrow, then do 4 hours on saturday and then i'll start winding down and concentrating on hydrating and nutrition. So far, i've been pretty clean, although on sunday, I had some risotto which I think triggered my gall stones. Back to eating 100% clean at least for the next 2 weeks. No excuses. Sleep has been crappy this week, probably because of my gall stones, but the workout yesterday for 2 hours I was still fresh after a hard 2 hours, so the gas tank is good. I think 6 hours I should be able to pull off with no problem as long as I manage to keep grabbing small mouthfuls of food a few times an hour and hydrating with coconut water. Still zero progress on the agile. damn, I just can't get into it. Oh well. Trying to stay light on myself. Lisl ps. does anyone read this stuff????
  10. Well, I am running at a steady 7.5 hours each night- hooray!!! Got in 9 hours of workout in last week and looking at 10 this week, then starting to scale back to recover before the test. So far, so good. Diet is awesomely clean, and workouts are going well. I have not run out of gas yet. Still no work on the agile test. Oh well. Lisl
  11. Another 8 hours last night!!! I think I found part of my sleep problem with taking the vitamins at night. Since I've moved them to mornings, I have slept 1000 times better. Managed to get in 5 hours of Krav in this past week. Tuesday I could have gone for 3 hours straight, but decided not to push it too far. I think I'll be ready. Thanksgiving was good- didn't eat too badly- only cheated with some stuffing and a 1/2 piece of apple pie. No bread or crap, so I consider it a success. Again, still haven't picked up the agile book. Grrrr. Lisl
  12. Success! I got a full 8 hours last night! Wooo Hoooo!!!! I moved my vitamin intake to mornings and boy did that make a huge difference! OMG! Did my fit saturday morning, all my chores done, and went to the show on sunday picking up a few wins and points. It was a good day! FYI- Crossfit does nothing for my riding. I thought doing all the crossfit I do, I would be able to really power through the day- wrong. I was beat sunday night and crawled through Monday. But, I did manage my 2 hours of Krav on Monday, and today I'm doing 3. Wed I'm doing 2 and then off until Monday. I'm pretty sure i'll be ready for the test. I felt pretty darn good after 2 hours and at my rate, could have done another 2 hours pretty easily I think. anyway, still haven't picked up my agile manual yet. It's on the list though for after thanksgiving. Lisl
  13. Major setback this week on sleep. I have slipped back into old self and only got 5 hours the last 4 nights. Argggg! So,,, I'm picking myself up, dusting off, and try not to hate myself. In fact, I'm going to go over to my favorite fresh serve restaurant, get myself a big bowl of fresh cut fruit with berries, and take it an hour at a time of not being critical of myself. Tonight, I ride my horse, get him ready for the show, and tomorrow morning do 2 hours of krav and BJJ. Then go over to our local farm, get my milk and cream, some fresh grass fed steaks, and then over to the farmers market for my thanksgiving produce. Pullups have taken a break until monday. My upper back is uber sore from a boatload of heavy push presses. Lisl
  14. Ok, so here's my challenge broken down. The first challenge, I was really close on this one, so I have a feeling I will get this one this time around! In addition, I will be working on my toes to bars as well, so I'm hoping to get both of them! Every morning, I will be working on it, and also whenever I go to crossfit, I have been spending about 10 minutes working on my kippings. I'm close on this one! Sleep and I have a love hate relationship. I've gotten up to 7 hours pretty consistently, but then last night, I woke up after 5 and couldn't go back to sleep. I just changed taking my Vitamin D to the mornings so we will see how that works out. Still trying to get to bed at 9:30, so we will keep working on that. Biggest inhibitor of that- hubby. He doesn't have to wake up until 830am as opposed to my 4:30am, so he wants to come to bed late, and then it just wakes me up to never to fall back to sleep again. I really don't want to do separate bedrooms. KM level test. Now that all my vacation and horse shows are done with, I can devote full time to this. Saturday, i'll do KM fit, then BJJ. Monday, 2 hours KM. on Tuesdays, KM Fit and 2 hours KM. Wed, 2 hours KM, thurs, rest. Friday rest. Saturday, rest. Sunday, Angie. I know it will be important to eat clean these next few weeks and really concentrate on rest and hydration and managing my rest days. LG- I have to start studying. That's all there is to it. Lisl
