  1. How many pull-ups can you do in 1 hour? Use whatever strategery you like. Here's some complex rocket-science level math for your noggin to get you motivated. If you do 1 pull-up per minute, that's 60 pull-ups. If you do 2 pull-ups per minute that's 120 pull-ups! Think you can do 1 every 15 seconds? That's a whopping 240 pull-ups! Beastly. Just bust 'em out, however many reps you want and however many sets you want. Anyways, hop to it. Post your results and I'll make a leaderboard spreadsheet 1 week from now. Clock's 'a tickin'. Oh and if you try the challenge again later and post your new and improved results, make sure you put somewhere in your post "2nd Attempt", "3rd Attempt" and so on. Deadline: Friday 11:59 PM (May 19)

  5. Thanks for the info @Heidi ☯. I like yours too, very nice Paladin description. I dig it. I also like that banner picture you have when I hover my mouse over your name in the thread. How do I do that? Oh and the house is in Norfolk. I'm actually still here right now, but I'm leaving in the next couple days for Idaho. Thanks for the information @Laghail. I appreciate it good sir.
  6. Maybe I'm missing it, but I can't find a history of comments or posts that I've liked, under the "My Activity Streams" tab. The closest thing to it would be "Content I Follow," or "Content I Posted In." Am I just missing this feature, or does it not exist? If it doesn't exist, can we please make that a reality? I would love you long time.
  7. @comicfire One of the biggest things besides partaking in any type of physical therapy, is staying positive and making the best of the situation. I'm sure someone's already posted this advice, but it can't hurt coming from someone else as well. You may not be able to do all the things you want to do right now, but be patient, and your body will heal. As long as you are careful and take appropriate steps to rehabilitate yourself, in time, you will be back at it again. Look at this moment as an opportunity for you to focus some of your time on other aspects of your life, exploring new opportunities. Now, I apologize in advance, because I'm about to get a little bit preachy, but I just want you to know I've been where you're at. I definitely understand where you're coming from. I'm only 27 years old, but I've already injured my back multiple times in different spots throughout my life trying to lift super heavy weights and keep up with the bigger guys. My first injury was in high school, so I wasn't even 19 yet. Every time it happened, the most painful thing (more so than any of the actual physical pain) was just realizing how fragile we actually are and how much time I was not going to be able to lift weights or perform certain exercises. It took me years to develop the presence of mind to truly listen to my body and back off when warning signs popped up. Even then, occasionally your body still fails you. Contrary to popular belief, as held by many youngsters (including myself), we are not invincible. In your routine, regardless of what you're doing, being careful, methodical, controlled and precise is important. Absolute adherence to perfect technique and form is a must if you plan on working out for years to come. I couldn't have cared less about form when I first started working out. I just tried to do everything explosively and as quickly as possible. I was an idiot. Equally important is not advancing and moving up in weight or to more advanced exercises until you are truly ready, which usually doesn't happen until you've been doing your current routine for a decent length of time. I know you already know all this, so I am sorry for that, but sometimes we need to be reminded. I know I do. Anyways, I hope you make a good recovery comicfire. Remember, stay positive and optimistic. I believe you can do it, and so should you. Your back will follow suit.
  8. Name: Kurospool (not to be confused with a spool of thread of the Kuros variety) Distance: Slow jog 5 miles tonight. Target pace is 11-minute per mile Speed: Fast run 5 miles tomorrow. Target pace is 9-minute per mile. Recovery: Eat 5 scrambled eggs. Stay hydrated. Get 8-10 hours sleep. Stretch. Foam roll. Ranger: Sprint short wooded trail by my house. Imagine I am Aragorn or Legolas running from an orc war party. Stop and take some macro photos of flower and tree texture. Keep an eye out for any cool insect pics. Look for a 4-leaf clover. Oh, and find Francis. P.S. If anyone's interested in lending a blade, healing skills, cooking expertise or any other aid to the Knight Warriors of the Books of Excalibur, we would be eternally grateful. The Kingdom of Elrond is under attack and we need YOU to join the fight here:
  9. Hello there. I'm sure it's already been said at some point and even considered, but it can't hurt to mention it again. I THINK it would be great for the site (or terrible, not sure yet) if all our character profiles and quests were accessible via a facebook-like network, as in you can go to someone's page and see what they're all about, what they're working towards and what they've accomplished. I personally think it would be cool to check out and gain inspiration from other people's profiles and keep in touch with one another via a facebook-like interface, but in the style and format of this site with this specific community. But I should just shut up and go use facebook? I'm curious as to what everyone else thinks. Ha, anyways, thanks for reading and rebel on. Mike (AKA, Kuros)
  10. I'm moving to Idaho Falls very soon and wanted to see if anyone's looking for a gym partner. No nerd is too nerdy. Let me know. I like to do cross-fit style workouts, basic strength and power training, distance running as well as sprint and agility work from time to time. Oh and I also like to climb.
  11. Kuros, through passed down stories that have become nothing more than legend, is known to most as the "Knight Warrior of the Books of Excalibur," but few would know it upon meeting this unassuming hero. Less bulky warrior and more agile ranger, with a mind sharper than any blade (except Brightsword, of course), Kuros is a servant of light, far more humble than the picture this old keeper of lore will paint for you. Always cloaked and seldom seen, it would be easy to mistake him for an assassin (a poor one at that if he is indeed seen), or a scout. Alas, this is not the case. Jack of all trades, but a master of none, except maybe stillness of mind. The sum total of his attributes is what makes him a force to be reckoned with. Any obstacle or any foe can be conquered, and the only limiting factor is his force of will. With the proper application of blade and bow, mind and manners, Kuros can equally well disarm both the hound of Hades or the daughter of Zeus. Ironically though, given his tremendous capability and power to sway the forces of evil, Kuros has not been seen for many years, and as we approach our darkest hour, the world needs all the heroes she can get. Whispers on the wind have become widespread rumor, and these tell of a broken husk of a man that was once humankind’s staunchest advocate. It is said that he has withdrawn from the world, grieving for a loved one who has passed from this life. If Kuros happens to be reading this right now, know this. This world is merely a doorway to the next life. You will see your beloved again, but not yet… not yet. Take heart. There are many more beautiful lives to preserve and the darkness is ever encroaching. The bell has been rung and the hour is now. The time to reforge ourselves into something new, something stronger, is here. I call upon all the hesitant and all the eager heroes of the world. Our world is at your mercy. Will you not answer her call? Hello everyone and sorry for the over the top RPGing. I had serious fun with that. I'm really looking forward to this experience. Such a cool site and idea. Anyways, my real name is Mike, I'm 27 years old and I'm looking to get fitter than ever. How fit? Like Gimli and Legolas had a baby and that kid grew up in the wild raised by wolves and surrounded by orcs level of fit. I like to do a little bit of everything to be honest with you. Traditional strength routines, cross-fit style circuits, sprint workouts, distance running, and climbing. If anyone's in the Idaho Falls area (just about to move out there from Virginia), let me know if you're looking for a workout partner. Also, that list is by no means exhaustive. I also like to snowboard, play ultimate frisbee and competitive online video gaming. My xbox live gamertag is Terra Unu if anyone wants to add me. Right now I play Overwatch and Left 4 Dead 2 (yes I know it's old) mainly, but I also occasionally get on Battlefield 4, Halo 5, Destiny, Diablo III, Titanfall 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops III. My favorite games of all time are Rygar, Wizards and Warriors, Donkey Kong 64, Goldeneye, Nightfire, Halo, Left 4 Dead, Jak and Daxter, Champions of Norrath, Fusion Frenzy, World of Warcraft, Counter Strike and the original Star Wars Battlefront games. This last part I'll end up posting in a more appropriate section of the forums, but I thought since I'm introducing myself, I might as well introduce another idea that I think would be great for the site (or terrible, not sure yet). What do you guys and gals think about all our character profiles and quests being accessible via a facebook-like network? I personally think it would be cool to check out and gain inspiration from other people's profiles and keep in touch with one another via a facebook-like interface, but in the style and format of this site with this specific community. Or should I just shut up and go use facebook? Ha, anyways thanks for reading and rebel on. Mike (AKA, Kuros) https://www.nerdfitness.com/character/191847
