  4. 7-June-2017 On the road for work today - site visit to one of our offices. Picked up a new project while I was there, so that's good - always nice to have something to keep me busy on at work. Also checked out a car my daughter was interested in buying, but probably going to pass - a little more damage & wear than was really expressed in their FB post.   6. Hey Garris, Nice progress! I'm just getting started on the bodyweight exercises, so like seeing other people's progress and thoughts as they work on it too. I'm diabetic, and have adopted a low-carb diet, but I find if I'm feeling hungry, I usually need to adjust my good fats intake up some. I'm not sure how that fits with your macros, but adding some butter, nuts or avocado may help with hunger. Also water, lots of water. Keep up the fight
  7. 5-June-2017 Fighting a weird phenomenon with my blood sugars - I 'think' I had a vial of Lantus (long acting insulin) go bad, I've had to bolus to correct highs far more than I'm used to, and sugars are just generally staying higher than normal, even though I've been feeling pretty good overall. I've taken the plunge and jumped back on the executive of a local youth support group - I was pretty involved for several years (secretary, treasurer, vice), while my kids were the age that they would attend. But for the last two years I had taken a step back from active involvement, partly due to the fact my kids were no longer interested, but also due to some personality conflicts, maybe not necessarily personality, but a distinct sense that the organization was being pushed in a direction I didn't believe it should be going. I knew their annual general meeting was coming up, and spent some time reflecting on what my goals are, and being able to actively help and participate in supporting and empowering the youth in our community ranks pretty high up there. I had previously really enjoyed working with them, and gotten a great sense of accomplishment whenever we saw some of the kids succeed at something they thought they couldn't, so decided to attend the meeting last night and see how things have been going. Long story short, I'm now the new vice-president of the organization. The individual I had previously had conflicts with is also on the board executive, and we had a good discussion about our goals, and discovered that they are not that far apart, although our methods might differ, so I think we can work together to bring about some positive changes overall. I'm also going to evaluate my time commitments, and possibly resume facilitating one of the programs (A Robotics / Geek night program), that I had run for 3 years. I was asked if I would take it back over, and I'm already pretty sure I'm going to say yes... Yeah, a pretty positive day.   8. 4-June-2017 Spent the day at work again, managed to get the backyard mowed. Pretty quiet in general again. Did get my Vulnerabilities mission done (as in the last post). Focus for the upcoming week is going to be start working on the physical activity missions and finish basic training. Waiting to see this months new campaign.   9. Boss Battle: Own your Vulnerabilities. Here are the 3 lists of vulnerabilities I've currently identified as part of this to eventually work on and try to eliminate. Partly to keep me accountable, but also to serve as a reminder of what I need to focus on. Physical: Shoulder pain (suffered frozen shoulder in both shoulders at separate times, that still causes extreme pain in the left) - continued physical therapy to build and strengthen these areas to relieve the pain Soreness after walking / exercising. Even after walking for 30+ days, my legs are still sore the following day. Need to find out if that's normal, or what I need to do to help alleviate that. Just getting started on the actual workouts and building them into a habit. No problem with the walking, but I have some kind of mental block about just getting up and 'doing it'. Nutritional: Family eating - more along the lines of continued snacking, and poor eating habits within my family. Working towards a slow adoption through watching my efforts and determination to stay with what I'm doing. Small steps, I won't force anyone to do anything they don't want. Low variety of quality food available - mostly on the veg side of things, alot of the 'good' produce is either very expensive, or not readily available. Have started doing more gardening and looking into and indoor aquaponics system to grow more of my own foods. Limited time to prepare - not as serious an issue, but sometimes it would be nice to just sit down and eat without having to make something fresh everytime. (Just need to work on doing some advanced meal prep - becomes easier once some of my meal choices become more popular with everyone else in the family) Mental: Lack of motivation - Need to continue working on building my system of habit building. RH has been extremely beneficial with this, especially the support and team-spirit from my squad and division. Don't want to do it - not sure really how to describe this, more like apathetic, sometimes just get this overwhelming urge of I really don't care, or my recliner rocker looks really, really, really comfortable. Fear of ridicule or others opinions - I have a pretty thick skin, but other peoples opinions still bear way to much weight in my own self-image. Meditation & mindset work are my tools to help overcome this at the moment.

SO activity seems on the decline in the area, must be concentrating on some of the weaker squads or solo rebels.   11. 2-June-2017 Better in general today, blood sugars still running a little high, but within limits - going to throw my averages off for a couple days. Managed to get my squad squat/burpees done along with one of my 30 minute walks (nice to get back to it after missing 2 days). Have to work this weekend, so just going to try to maintain the status quo - have one more grad party to pick kids up from tomorrow, so another late night, but is all good. I really need to concentrate on putting some effort into the Basic Training and physical parts of my program, I just keep putting them off. At least with the Squad challenges, I've been getting enough push to just do it and keep up with everyone else, so that's been helping.   12. 1-June-2017 Kind of a rough day, just generally not feeling well - blood sugars were elevated all day, not terrible, but higher than I've been used to (between 7 - 9), so either have an infection of some kind, or coming down with a bug. Didn't progress much with RH, just maintained the regular food & mindset missions, avoided the physical. Only got one tiny walk in this morning to work. Plan to take it easy tomorrow and see how my sugars react.   13. 31-May-2017 Just another day at the office... Helped my oldest daughter work on course selections for her 3rd year University. She was in a transfer program where she did her first two years at one school, and is moving to another to finish off her bachelors. I don't think I even saw my youngest daughter today - she was DM'ing her first online D&D campaign, well she did stick her head out to grab something to eat around 9:00 Managed to get some work done on the website, and FB posts, but need to come up with a good way to build content - I really don't want to just curate other peoples work, I want it to be original, but that takes a lot of time, and I guess until I can afford some content writing, just have to keep working on it myself.   14. 30-May-2017 I just love working with non-technical types on the phone giving support - no, really.... Sometimes the things they say are just so funny, and you can't share the joke with them. But I digress. Was a decent day at work, busy - getting some groundwork done for the QMS/IMS system setup, along with Office 365 migration. Was up early, got some work done on my Basic Training Spec Op, and generally continued the battle against oppression by the SO.
