1. Well, I'm getting out of my apartment a lot more. Meeting new people. Participating in clubs on campus. Simply stated: I'm putting myself in a lot more situations to meet women. And it seemed to work because I actually went on a date last night. =D
2. Alright, so now is the time to grade myself for this challenge. Overall I feel like I did fairly well. I didn't achieve everything I set out to do but I made significant progress in all my goals. Injuries kind of tripped me up here at the end but I'm not going to let them keep me down for long. Anyway, here are the numerical results:
Goal Attributes Grade Award Stick to a weekly routine 4 STR, 1 DEX B (4 sessions skipped) 3 STR, 0.75 DEX Improve balance during basic form 1 STA, 1 DEX B (much improved but I still occasionally lose balance) 0.75 STA, 0.75 DEX Attend all Tae Kwon Do classes 2 STA, 2 DEX, 1 CON B (3 skipped) 1.5 STA, 1.5 DEX, 0.75 CON Go on a date 3 CHA B (didn't go on a date but made significant progress towards the goal) 2.25 CHA
Total attribute points awarded: 11.25 I guess overall I get a B. This challenge really has helped push me outside of my comfort zone (especially with my life goal). Once my injuries heal up, I'm going to jump back into my weekly routine and keep on leveling up my life.
3. Hey everyone! It's been too long since last I posted (probably because there hasn't been much to update on). I've been sticking to my weekly routine without a problem. It's really starting to become a habit. My balance has definitely improved. I only lose my balance during basic form when I get pretty tired. Still in the last couple of times I've done basic form, I've only lost my balance a few times. The Tae Kwon Do classes are going well. I've learned my new form and have started to learn my the new one-steps. However, today, I have a bit of a setback. My arm is likely broken. The radiologist hasn't confirmed yet but the doctor thinks it is broken. Obviously, that kills the upper body training I was doing which is really disappointing to me. I plan to keep doing what I can though.
4. Thanks! It's becoming a little bit harder to stick to it. Multiple days I've woken up and just didn't want to do anything. But I still did my exercises because I don't want to come back here and tell everyone that I didn't, haha. Anyway, it has been quite a while since last I updated. I'm still sticking to my routine not matter how much I don't want to some days. My balance has definitely improved. My spin kicks feel a lot better. Tae Kwon Do is going well. I got my yellow belt yesterday, yay! I'm excited to learn my new form and one-steps. I haven't had any success with my life goal. Not that I'm not trying; just nothing has worked out yet.
5. It's been a while since I updated so here's the current state of affairs: School has started back up so I'm likely to get much busier very soon. However, I won't let that stop me from achieving my goals. I haven't missed a beat with my weekly routine. I switched it up a bit to do body weight exercises. I can about 2-ish chin ups, haha. I definitely feel the effects so that's going well. I'm still occasionally losing my balance during basic form but I think I'm getting better. I've really been practicing spin side-kicks and they seem to feel better now. I'm going to continue working on that. I have not missed a single Tae Kwon Do class yet. Since I only started this past February I'm really still a newbie at TKD so I'm definitely not used to sparring yet. Case in point, I was kicked in the jaw last class. My jaw feels a bit off but besides that it's all good, haha. Nonetheless, I will not be deterred.
6. Sweet! I'm glad I'm switching then. Thanks for the info.
7. Today's update: Still going strong. I've stuck to my weekly routine thus far. I'm changing some things up with it since reading a lot of stuff on NF. I was using machines for my upper body training but now I know machines are EVIL. So I'm switching it up to free weights and body weight exercises. I've figured out some reasons why my balance is off during some of my kicks so I'm gonna be working on those in the following weeks. All in all, I feel like I'm doing fairly well on my fitness goals.
8. So today being a Wednesday I woke up in the morning and did my ab/core exercise routine and, in the evening, I did my upper body training. So no part of my routine skipped yet.
9. Thanks for the advice. I'm going to try to get more involved on campus. Now that it's the summer there's not a whole lot going on but you can bet I'll be at the events that are.
10. Welcome and congrats on the 36 pounds lost already. Hmm, do you have insider knowledge on this zombie apocalypse that I should be aware of? Maybe I need to start working on my zombie fighting skills. =)
11. Welcome to the rebellion! This is a great community with some really awesome people.
12. Welcome and congrats on your weight loss so far. Weight Watchers is what I used to lose weight and it worked really well for me. I'm a big fan of the program.
13. Agreed. Here's my weekly plan:
Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday Ab workout &upper body weight training Tae Kwon Do Ab workout &upper body weight training Tae Kwon Do Ab workout &upper body weight training Tae Kwon Do Rest
I might be switching some things up soon because I've read more posts on NF and think I should do some things differently.
14. It's been a while since my last update so here's the current state of my challenge. 1) Stick to a weekly workout routine Didn't miss a beat with this goal. Even though I was out of town visiting family I kept to my routine. No way I'm going to lose that PvP challenge. =) 2) Complete basic form without losing my balance; especially on spin kicks Didn't have Tae Kwon Do class so I didn't get to practice during basic form. However, I've been doing spin side kicks for the guild challenge to help with this. I definitely could do more, though, and will try to do better in the future. 3) Attend every possible Tae Kwon Do class Class was canceled on Saturday due to the Derby but I do have class today that I will attend. 4) Go on a date Not much luck for this goal but I'm not gonna give up.
15. If you watch How I Met Your Mother that would be why Barney's "Platinum Rule" exists; and I've also learned the hard way why it should not be broken. Definitely would not want that in my Tae Kwon Do class.
