  1. make a protest sign on a stick with this: and then hit them with it when needed. + what wolfhorde said.
  2. "The race is long". I'd guess ~half a century, +- a few decades. Pace yourself for it.
  3. Are you truly surprised that your unasked-for advice was not well received? Are you giving it for the benefit of the recipient, or for your own feel of self-gratification?
  4. Since I have trek/combo bicycle true racing tyres would look like low-profile tyres on 4x4 cars that you can see in cities. Ridiculous I say! But for my home town combo frame with (only really resilient) road tyres is actually quite good, since the conditions are not quite favourable for a daily commute on a true road bike. For years I've biked on MTB thick and wide tyres, and this season I decided to try road tyres. I didn't buy the cheapest pair that I could find, but still they got punctured three times in the last month. So I'm contemplating buying these tyres. Are they any good? I take care how I get on and off curbstones, and I try to avoid debris on the road, but sometimes that'd put me in a car lane, and sometimes I do drive on gravel roads.
  5. Thanks. I'm contemplating buying these tyres, but I'll repeat the question in the biking section too.
  6. Posting here feels less like bragging than opening a whole new thread on Woot section, so you'll have to bear with me. Managed to (mostly bike, with a few runs) cover 455km this month. If my tyres didn't get punctured it'd be easy to go to 500 in two days, but no luck for me. Serves me well for driving on "city" (thin and narrow) tires that are not kevlar threaded/coated. I'll have to search either for a really affordable kevlar tyres, or I'll have to go back to MTB tyres to compensate for lack of quality with thickness of material.
  7. Some kind of starchy sand? Because you need the energy, remember?
  8. english heraldry system is different from german, which is different from italian, which is different from swedish, ... just a thing to keep in mind.
  9. Keep up with it, it's the most rewarding outdoor experience that I've ever had. I'd suggest trying some of the now numerous barefoot trail shoes. Which one depends on the terrain you are running on - "technical" or easier, rocks, dirt, mud, dry, wet, snow...
  10. I've spent ~2700 kcal on biking and orienteering the other day. Nothing else to contribute, just bragging.
  11. It's silly to think that you'll lift more because of the beard. The truth goes the opposite way -> you'll beard more if you lift! That's because you actually push out beard from you when you lift. True story! p.s. Gentlemen, I present you !
  12. If you run barefoot on a hard surface and nothing hurts after - than you're doing it right. Sorry I can't be of better help ATM.
  13. Thanks, had suspicions that someone posted it before but I haven't found it.
  14. http://blog.tedx.com/post/45914179742/debunking-the-paleo-diet-christina-warinner Not bashing it, just putting science back into perspective.
  15. Never been married, but your reaction is not only normal but commendable. There's a lot of people that would say Schadenfreude to her story. And while simply not being a jerk is not a positive character trait per se - it's simply an absence of a negative one - your story wouldn't make you an asshole if you told her "Frankly my darling...". Did you ever get her reasoning why she left? And are you sure she was truly herself if she was first depressed, and then on magic pills? I'm in good friendly relations with one of my ex girlfriends, second one needs only 6,4 seconds to get on my nerves, but I don't actively dislike her, or wish her ill, and I'm out of communication with the third. That's about right for the gradation how much would I go out of my way to help them in something if they needed it too.
  16. I use endomondo to track my commute biking and hikes/runs. It's a nice tool, even better if you can connect it with some sort of GPS device.
  17. Due to neglect and budgetary constraints (but let's be real - neglect) I haven't done regular maintenance in quite a few years - leading to poor transmition, worn out breaks and bald tyre. So I'm just back from the shop where a friend will do general maintenance, put on new breaks and new, thinner and faster tyres. Oh, and new bar ends too! Rode without them for some time and I don't like the feeling of having my pinkie fingers exposed so much.
  18. Data transfer is kinda the point. Thanks, the 310XT seemed interesting to me too.
