  1. Wow, an intense month pre-surgery. What will your recovery time be?
  2. Here's a funky chart to try to track my activity. I'll figure out how to refine this in a text editor... Su | M | Tu | W | Th | F | Sa 1 __ | __ | walk | __ | __ | __ | __ | (1/3) 2 __ | cook | __ | __ | __ | __ | __ | (1/3) 3 __ | __ | __ | __ | __ | __ | __ | (0/2) 4 read | read | __ | __ | __ | __ | __ | (2/6) Goal 1: Walked to work today. The weather is perfect in southern Utah now. Not deathly hot like summer. Cool in the morning, sunny and warm on the afternoon walk. Great. Goal 2: Cooked some Italian sausage, tomato, pepper, pasta dish yesterday. Yum. Over the last many months, applesauce has been my go-to sweet, after-dinner dessert, but it's always been store-bought. I've never made applesauce myself, though I remember it fondly when my grandmother would make it. So that'll be one of my projects in the next week. Homemade applesauce. I'm a fan. Goal 3: No BW workout yet. Goal 4. I'm working on a book Being Lutheran, which is what I am...and learning to be. Also trying to get some more regular Scripture/theology reading and prayer time before bed, which is all wrapped up in my reading goal.
  3. Sweet. I'm headed back to Austin at the end of January for moar swing dancing. I didn't get my chicken and donuts last time!
  4. Welcome! That's Wave Man from Mega Man 5. (I'm "Sea Level," and I like Wave Man's trident.)
  5. Back again after a short absence. I wish I had a flying lawn mower.
  6. Agreed, but no, I'm in Moab, down in red-rock country. But I come up north every now and then.
  7. Really? In Cyrillic? I suppose once you learn the letters, it'd be doable. It would probably be a challenge for me to learn the letters.
  8. Here to cheer on another Utahn. I'm not native, but currently resident. Go Team!
  9. Good luck with your application!
  10. Following! Good to hear about the gym. I'm able to get discounts thru my work, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I think it's worth it, since I can use my card to get into loads of gyms around the country. That's a lot of languages, but good to work on. I gotta get back to my Duolingo French. Rock on!
  11. Greetings again, Rangers. I've been thinking about NF for a while, and I dropped in today (of all days), to find today was the start of another challenge. I find it hard to believe that I've only sat out one challenge. I've been gone too long. Over the last many weeks, things have gotten out of control: poor eating, gaining weight, staring at screens all day, little activity, etc. I'm pretty dissatisfied with my last several months. I thought I'd drop in to see what the next challenge schedule is, and it begins today. So there's no reason to wait another challenge to get goals put together. Today's the day to start. This isn't particularly a "Rangerly" challenge, but this is a more simple challenge to get me back to work. Here goes. Goal 1: Walk or bike to work 3x weekly. Goal 2: Prepare healthy meal at home 3x weekly. Goal 3: BW exercise 2x weekly. Goal 4: Read 20 minutes 6x weekly. I'll expand more in coming days. See you out there.
  12. Week 3 Recap: Well I seemed to disappear down a black hole again. Here's how Week 3 went Goal 1: BW workout 2x a week. (1/2) Goal 2: Animal Flow/Handbalancing 2x a week (2/2) Goal 3: Eat a quality meal 2x a week (2/2) Goal 4: Read 20 minutes, 4x a week (4/4) I'm still keeping up with things. Got in some good pull-up and push-up work this week, as well as some animal flows. I had a great weekend swing dancing in Telluride a couple of weekends ago, and have gotten busy leading dancing classes and weekly dances! Good times. Now my latest non-swing-dance obsession is Locking. I'd seen it before, but didn't know what to call it. Maybe I could learn this some day. Great music, high energy, entertaining. Maybe I could learn some of these moves for my next challenge.
  13. That's usually the case, isn't it? No, you. Thanks!
