  1. IT IS SUPER COOL! It's my first time using it, and I think I'm in love. The statistician deep inside me is enthralled hahaha. Thank you! It helps that I previously went 121 days without soda. C: My biggest worry is I won't be able to say no to McDonald's frappes. ;___; Good luck with weaning out caffeine and soda! We don't need liquid calories~ ===================================================== ===================================================== Here's a look at my current Daytum display~ I went running today for 0:13:01 - 1.25 km. Sucky number, but I'm working on bringing it up. C: As for going out (which I'm not sure how to track on Daytum just yet), I've gone out Wednesday, Thursday and will go out today (Friday) in a little bit. Have work Saturday and Sunday, so I'm going out then too! I'm happy that I've managed to get my butt out the door the past few days. On a regular week, I don't emerge from the apartment except for work~
  2. You're doing so weeeeeelll alreeeeeaaaady! I do that, sign up, lurk, disappear thing a lot. I'm doing my best not to do it this challenge. Let's be active togetherrrr! I love your goals! And I can definitely relate to them. <3 I wish you all the best! YOU CAN DOOOO IIIIIT! Also, I'm jealous of you living in Japan. That sounds awesooooommeeee
  3. So here's an update of my progress log~ I'm going to be tracking my data on Daytum properly in a little bit... Update is in bold. I think Daytum will be a lot of fun to use since I'm geeky and like to keep track of stuff wheeee! Tomorrow I will go running after I wake up. Then get ready to go out with friends (day 3 of 5 of leaving the house this week), then work... /: I'd say don't spoil me, but the TV show's done that already so hehe. My bf's on book 2, and I'm very jealous. I'm not sure why I can't seem to sit still with these awesome books. Bad attention span...? ;___; I like how you think! I think this is what I'm trying to achieve with my easier goals. Thanks for the reassurance and back up! Thank you, Freckles! I love bright colours, and having pretty things to look at motivates me~ Hahaha! I want to say they'd count as 15 books, but I doubt I'll finish all 5 books in the 6 weeks. Plus, I don't want to because I like it when the TV show surprises me~ I'll hopefully finish the first two and get to The Red Wedding in book 3 where the series finishes. Thank you! For rewards... Uhhh... I didn't really think about it. o.o I was just thinking at the end of all this, I'll have proven to myself I can do things ---- and have $1000 in the bank! Maybe I'll buy myself some books (Kindle or hard copy), some wigs, dye my hair, I dunno. We'll see! Thanks, Joey! I keep reading that liquid calories, are sooo useless, so I'm going to cut them out completely for now. Then at the end I'll let myself have them once in a while yay~ I live with my bf's family, and don't have much in the way of expenses, so with cutting back on spending... With me, it's trying to stay away from buying things. I'm not very good at it. :/ Like today, I just spent $120 on a new coat and 3 pairs of shoes. (Don't worry! I still put $250 in savings today though! ) Thanks for the support!
  4. With me, it's leave the house to go to work. No work, no outside world. xD Trying to change that though.. Thanks for the luck~! <3 Thanks! That's exactly how I feel; hence, the goal. xD I wonder if maybe I made the reading goal, so I can have an 'easy' challenge? Hmm... Aw, thank you~! :"D My hair's not quite like that anymore though. C: Yeah, I'm just trying to ease my way in this time. Because last time I jumped all in, and then I failed miserably. Small wins for now, then I'll up the ante. ;D I hope I can finish the ASOIAF books in 6 weeks! They're soooo long! <3 I wouldn't mind talking about the books I read too! I'll probably put it on my Tumblr though and link it here, so it's not too messy hihi~! Thanks for the luck <3
  5. Want to steal your grading system haha! Post pictures of your doggie! I love dogs, oh gosh. Good luck with your goals! I hope you achieve 'em all ;D (And also hope you send everyone baked goods because yummmm)
  6. Oh, yay! I'm glad my suggestion helped. YOUR PUP IS SO ADORABLE. IS HE A SHIH TZU???? /dying
  7. Oh, I just realised... Bubbette, what's your blog?! I've been on a blog hiatus for sooo long haha. Would love to see yours <3 Do either of those apps work well? I tried doing WeightWatchers for a couple of weeks because it was easier to track points compared to calories, but I kind of fail at tracking haha!
  8. Aren't you technically early since Japan is ahead in terms of time zones? ;D In any case, I'm in New Zealand, so we can be 'late' or early together haha! Checking out your thread right now!
  9. Wow, medical school! o: Good luck with all of your goals <3 Have no clue with what to replace jumping jacks with. :/ Maybe add another song to the Dance Central workout, one with more bouncing and movement? xD Not sure haha. As for your dog, you could start by giving him stats. Maybe just STA, CON and WIS because doggies don't need to worry about being charming or strong?! Haha, plus there'll be less points to worry about. You could then give your dog 5-10 points based on the results of the Pooch25k challenge as well as his evaluation. He levels up if the coach gives him a good evaluation, and you guys have good results for the Pooch25k (and any other challenges the dog will face!) Well, that's my idea anyway. Hope it helps, and good luck!
  10. I have a love-hate relationship with my ZR app. xD It had something to do with not being able to change the playlist... Then I realised I needed to use a different app for it. Whoooops. Curious about goal number two. Does that mean by the end of the 6 weeks, you'll be doing the bodyweight exercises 6x a week?! o: What about rest days? GOOOOD LUUUUCK! Let's doooo thiiiis thaaaang! <3 Also I love that Elf in an Ogre suit description. Brilliant!
  11. This post will have a running record of all progress, so it's easy for me to see. c: More detailed charts available at: http://daytum.com/wannabeempress Progress Log + 0.5 CHA for joining a group (from Mini-Challenge 1)+ 0.5 WIS for giving advice to a squadmate (from Mini-Challenge 1)Read 1 book (04/06/13), went out (Parents' + Daycare - 05/06/13), drank only water since 03/06/13 (3/3 perfect streak, 3/42 total days)Went out (Shopping with best friend + Maccas + StarDome Observatory - 06/06/13), read a little bit, drank only water (4/4 perfect streak, 4/42 total days) ---- Drinking only water was challenging today. Friend bought a tasty-looking smoothie, and when we went to McD's, I got her a value meal with a refillable drink, and I was so thirsty ;____; BUT I STAYED STRONG. Didn't run. Need to find band-aids for blisters + stomachache. Also transferred $250 into my online savings account!!!! 1/4 of the way there already.
  12. Hi there! My name's Pattee. This is, unfortunately, not my first time at a challenge. I say unfortunately because the past two time I've tried, I failed miserably. So why have I come back for some more butt-kicking? Because I finally had a taste of achieving my goals! I've been doing little goals like "Clean room", "Get a job", "Run for 12 minutes", "Pay off your credit card". And I've achieved some and failed at others. Cleaning, well, my room is currently a dump. Job? I am proudly employed, thank you. Running? Well, it worked for a while, and then... Yeah. Credit card? Paid it off, and now using it responsibly! So here's my third attempt at a NF challenge. I've signed up for the Better Late Than Nevers! group. I've begun listing tasks, dailies and habits for this challenge on HabitRPG, and now... Here's to hoping that third time's the charm! More on challenge: Save $1,000 in my online savings account (S)Save $167-$200 per week over 6 weeks in order to achieve this goal. Remember that $1,000 in 1/3 of the way to your $3,000 savings goal for the year! Also remember that you can still do whatever you want with the rest of your money not for savings. Make sure there's enough for food, going out and random expenses. Go out 5 times a week (O)Leave the apartment 5x a week for 6 weeks in order to achieve this goal completely. Going out can be leaving the apartment for work, visiting family, a walk with your love or a trip to the dairy. Just. Leave. The. Stupid. Apartment. Read 15 books ( Read any 15 books in 6 weeks in order to achieve this goal. This includes epic novels like A Song of Ice and Fire series, non-fiction, trashy romance novels and other print- and e-books. This does NOT include long blog posts or articles. You read fast. Read books. What did you buy your Kindle for?! Run for 12 minutes 3x a week (R )Run for 12 minutes 3x a week for 6 weeks to achieve this goal completely. Points will be deducted for missing runs, and running outdoors is worth more than treadmill running. ;D You can do this. 3x a week is doable! Cut out all liquid calories (L)Cut out all liquid calories from your diet for the next 6 weeks. This includes juice, alcohol, frappes, coffee, milkshakes, milk, etc. To be safe, drink only water. You can do this! COME ON. You lived 120 days without cola, you can do thiiiis! Attributes to Earn Grading System In progress............................................... Progress Log View here.
  13. Okay, this is the team for me! I've been reading NF for a couple of years now, and I've yet to really get things going. But... Better Late Than Never, right?! Anyway... Hi, guys! I hope we can all be good friends by the end of this. ;D I still need to make my thread. Will do that shortly~
  14. Okay, this seems like a great challenge! I need to get myself in order anyway. Maybe I should have noted: Prepare Next Week's sched for either Saturday or Sunday, hehe.
  15. Oh, I love your goals! A mix of fitness for the body and mind. Great job on working out today! And for working on the mini challenge. I know I need to do it too. xD
  16. Good luck with all your goals! I started late too, but that's okay! We can doooo iiiit! For your running goal, have you considered running with a fun app? <3 I currently use Zombies, Run & it has helped in motivating me to go running more often. My speed fluctuates like crazy but my consistency and distance has improved by a lot. As for your bodyweight workout, that sounds like epic fun! And congrats for getting the book uploaded. ;D
  17. Good luck with all your goals! Especially with the boxes. ;D I'm moving soon with my bf's fam as well, so I can imagine how annoying it can be unpacking and putting everything away. So... GOOD LUUUUCK!
  18. Congrats on getting one of your goals done so early!! Great job! And I'm so keen for you to launch that blog. ;D I love following new blogs. It's more exciting, heehee. <3
  19. Good luck with your goals! Do you have any friends who you could possibly drag to the gym? Or who could force you into going? Last year, my friend was able to con me into going to the gym with her for a while. I stopped going with her though because I felt awkward being the third wheel. xD And good luck dropping the energy drinks! I used to drink those all the time. xD More because they were cheaper than sodas than anything else really. GOOD LUUUUUCK
  20. Hey guys! Made some progress again today! I did mission 3 of Zombies, Run! I also ran farther than I did the last two missions. It says I did 3km+ but actually I did 4.18km according to my phone. xD I don't know why the web version of the app doesn't reflect this BUT WHO CARES. I did another mission! And I am happyyy!!!
  21. @BruteSquad Thank you for the encouragement! Ohyeah, I LOVE Steve's workouts. I'm just trying to work my way up to trying them. Start with squats (which he says are super awesome, right? ) and work my way up from there. <3 YOU HAVE A MACHETE? Utter coolness, man! SammieGetsFit Thanks, Sammie! <3 Survival ftw! I totally know what you mean. I live in the city (like in the business district area xD), so I've been trying to figure out where I can go for a run when I wanna do the one for my challenge. Maybe the massive park/domain near the museum? In case of the apocalypse, I hope we don't die just because we live in the urban areas. xD Siuken Thanks! <3 Yes! As Sammie said it's really enjoyable! It was really easy for me to get into because I have an over-active imagination, haha. Doing mini runs with my friends can have us screaming, while scrambling for our destination. As for the other zombie app, it's wicked awesome too! It's also easier to get into since there's a story unraveling as you run around. RavenclawRebel Ngaw, thank you! <3 Let's all get fit before the zombies get here!
  22. YAY! Paid off 85$ toward my credit card debt. And I also got to spend time with my family. I know that's not on my goals' list, but it still makes me happy. Didn't do any missions or squats today, but I did do a mini-run for Zombie Run. Settings: Early Infestation + 2MPH Zombies. Verdict: Too easy. I think I need to practice with the Resident Evil speed zombies (5mph). So... yeah. YAY for progress~!
  23. Good luck with your goals! Sorry to be ignorant, but what's RFG? And I love your touch your toes goal. xD I can't remember the last time I even attempted doing that, haha~
  24. I gave up last time. Long story short, I didn't make my fitness a priority, choosing to give in to my overall feelings of 'gah-I-hate-myself' and 'this-isn't-going-to-work-I'm-so-useless-dangg'. NO MORE. I'm putting money on the line. D:< I signed up for Beeminder, so if I fail I pay up and get publicly shamed. And gosh darned it, I want to survive the imminent zombopocalypse. I NEED TO GET FIT. D:< Beginning Stats (STR) - 3 (DEX) - 1 (STA) - 1 (CON) - 2 (WIS) - 3 (CHA) - 5 LIFE Pay off credit card. Opening balance was ~$490. FITNESS Complete all 23 missions of Zombies, Run. A+ if I do the last 5 of them with 5km distance! Survive a game of Zombie Run! in Late Local Infestation mode with 5mph zombies from apartment to gym (or similar distance). The game involves running around and dodging the zombies on your map while moving towards your destination. Late Local Infestation mode is the second highest difficult for number of zombies, and Resident Evil/5mp zombies are the Medium mode of zombie speed. Squat 80 times in a row with good form! I want to work towards doing more bodyweight exercises and increasing my strength! Good luck to everyone! ======*****====== Progress LIFE credit card - $377 to go! FITNESS Zombies, Run - 2/23 missions Zombie Run! - Victory with these settings: Early Infestation + 2MPH Zombies Squat - no progress yet STATS Logged initial stats at the beginning of this thread +1 WIS for completing Week 1 Adventurer's Challenge ====================================== CURRENT STATS (STR) - 3 (DEX) - 1 (STA) - 1 (CON) - 2 (WIS) - 4 (CHA) - 5
  25. ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE FIGHTERS AND SURVIVORS, UNITE! We could totally have a mini-guild of our own, I bet. xD Good luck with your zombie 5ks!
