  1. Over the weekend I did not get any walks in. I was very busy and the time didn't materialize. But I should be able to tonight, so I'll do my best to make that happen.
  2. I did not take a walk last night. I had the time, but instead I cleaned the kitchen while listening to my current audiobook (War and Peace by Tolstoy) then worked on some Spanish and some Bible study homework. So it was a productive evening, just no walking happened. I'm still enjoying learning Spanish. I was meeting with an online tutor, and I stopped that because I wasn't really getting anything out of it, and I'd rather not spend the money when I have so many free resources at my disposal. I have shed the feeling of being on a clock, and I'm just enjoying the process of learning at whatever pace I manage it. It's a lifetime endeavour, not something where I will suddenly arrive at perfection. I do have kind of a goal; I want to be able to talk to people when I go to Puerto Rico next summer. But I don't honestly think it will be to hard to get to the point of basic communication by then. Anyway, I'm having fun with it and that's what really matters.
  3. Yesterday was a no-walk day, so I didn't walk.
  4. I'm not real bright and there's a lot I don't know, but there are a few things I've figured out. - I like a bullet list - Exercise is good for me, in the long and the short term. So I should do that. - I'm a planner and a perfectionist. If I don't have some kind of plan to execute, I won't do anything because little bits of here and there don't feel worthy to me. Whether that last one is factual or not doesn't seem to matter. My feeling about it is so strong that fighting against it has yielded no fruit. Therefore, I need an exercise plan. It has to be simple because I don't have a lot of time for such things, but if I have a plan to work I think I can make it work. The thing I will attempt this time will be walking. I like walking. The rhythm is soothing and it makes my muscles feel good, and it gives me quiet time to myself which is very lacking in the rest of my day. Let's make a walking plan - Sunday - there is usually time for a walk in the evening between the various activities. - Monday - I'm going to have to cut out another activity, that I was thinking about cutting anyway, but I am okay with doing that and making it work. - Tuesday - This is a no-go. By the time I get home from activities, it's bed time, and staying up late to exercise results in too little sleep. - Wednesday - I can make this work, if I'm very diligent and intentional about it. Possibly a treadmill might be involved. - Thursday - No-go again. There are always things going on and I can't squeeze them around to get a walk done. - Friday - hit and miss. We often but not always have things to do Friday evenings, but some fridays I have the day off of work so I can make that work. - Saturday - similar to Friday. If I'm actively looking for a time to take a walk, many times I'll be able to get it in, but not always. So where are we? 3 more or less sure days, and two solid maybe days. So 3 - 5 walks per week should be possible. I'll try to report here most days whether I've walked or not. I think I'm going to try to track how many walks I get in each week. I think that's about it.   5. Just went back and read the first post. Holy crap dude. I'm sorry that this has happened. You definitely don't deserve that and I totally support you ending it and moving on. It sounds like you're doing well in spite of, and that's pretty amazing. *hugs*
  6. I'm here. 🙂 I have been struggling, but I haven't quite given up yet.
  7. Last night I mowed the lawn, so that counts for a walk. I'm pretty sure I cover about the same distance, and my mower is a push-it-yourself kind.
  8. I think it's going around. Nothing to report again. Meet the Teachers night at my kid's high school, so there was no time for anything else.
  9. I have not got any exercise since the last update. My evenings have been full of other activities, and also it's crazy hot outside but mostly I've just been busy.
  10. Last night I took a walk around the neighborhood.
  11. Last night I took a walk around the neighborhood with my beautiful wife. It's been nice to have those times to talk with her. We're normally so busy it's hard to find times to connect.
  12. I was concerned when you said it had been running non-stop. That's rough on the compressor. Good repair vibes sent.
