Hmm yes. Looks like a week where I indulged a bit too much in “holiday” part.
Goal for this week is to get the Alcohol and Steps goals back in the green /yellow range. Day 1 of this week going well with both of those so far.

Yesterdays drinking… yeah I did not do good. Same with today honestly so breaking that ‘no two in a row’ rule.
But we did inspection on possible new house. No major red flags, just waiting on inspection reports so we can see if seller will cover the moderate/minor findings.

Alright… actually didn’t do too bad on the alcohol yesterday. Mostly because it was hot and I was drinking so much water the thought of drinking anything else wasn’t very appealing. Didn’t quite hit the steps though, was too hot for our senior dog and we decided to give him extra enrichment of car ride to a local park before the super scary noises (thunderstorms and fireworks) started up. I am content with those decisions.
Work today started with a lot of chaos. And also our warehouse is hot and humid so lots of water to go along with steps. Already hit those goals for the day, just have to keep an eye on the beers….
In other news finally started watching the Mandalorian season 3. Some slower spots for sure but I’m enjoying it so far. My partner is ready to smack me with a pillow anytime I go “well in legends blah blah blah Mand’alor blah blah blah” or “aaaaaaahhhh” at a reference to either legends or canon things.

I’ll admit a chose a Hard Mode first week to start tracking, at least for the alcohol - Fourth of July plus we finally got an offer accepted on a house, out in the down payment and have inspections later this week. Wish us luck? Not the first accepted offer but I’d really like inspections to go well on this one with no major concerns.
But I also know myself well enough that if I didn’t start back up in the forums this week I’d come up with excuses to keep procrastinating on it. I’ll aim to at least get a green on the water, plus at least a yellow on the walking and track the alcohol this week.

Hello there.
I have a habit of checking in and quickly ghosting. But with work stress etc the past few years have found myself slipping from the good exercise / eating habits I had previously built. Clothes aren't fitting quite as well as I would like. I've been making some progress on my own, but missed being part of the Nerd Fitness community.
So trying this again, with a few goals on my first challenge back.
1) Drink Water, not Beer.
- Track Water Consumption. 🟩= >2.4 Liters 🟨 = 1.8-2.4 Liters 🟥= <1.8 Liters
- Track Alcohol Consumption. 🟩= >0 alcoholic drinks 🟨 = 3 or less alcoholic drinks 🟥= 4+ alcoholic drinks
2) Walk
- Track daily steps. 🟩= 10K+ steps 🟨 = 7.5K - 10K steps 🟥= <7.5K steps
Commander, Execute Order: Respawn

Hi All - been a while since I last checked in. Past few years have had the habit of poking my head in before eventually ghosting my challenges. Let's see how I do this time.

So basically , things develop completely different than planned but I like the direction Im taking.
Finishing this challenge at this point. I am very active in my recovery groups online and want to make sure Im not online all the damn time. For all of you who have followed: thank you so much for your support! I feel guilty for not being around that much. I will definitely not do the next challenge starting in October. Might do the short Xmas challenge in December though. ( wtf! Xmas ????? soon ??)
when I come back I will post pictures of me being a lamb... Im growing out my hair and am sporting a ridiculous afro right now.... stay tuned
Bye, friends! I need some more coffee!
❤️
Fearless
Sounds like despite the changes, you have a great and productive mindset on how to move forward. You have found a few methods that have not worked and are focusing your energy on the right things (movements, focus groups, etc). Absolutely no need to feel guilty for not checking in here! ((We all need a break occasionally and less screentime isn't a bad thing))
Wish you the best as you navigate a slightly different path for now and see you again sometime further down the road. ❤️

Hi all - probably a bit too long of a break before posting.
But! I have been checking in with my coach every day. I'm killing it on my nutrition goal, still working on that workout consistency. But it's not like I haven't been moving outside of "structured workouts" -- We've doing family hikes the past two Saturdays and generally adding more time for playtime/movement during the week.
I've also been doing well with consistently tracking water. So honestly the only goal I'm slipping on is checking in here.
Hope you all are okay and anyone who lives or has family members who live down in Florida, Puerto Rico, etc are safe. ❤️

Echoing the others, no need to apologize. You’re working on progress towards goals that require a lot of your energy. Sometimes you need to prioritize yourself and your goals first - nothing wrong with that! We’re here to cheer you on regardless!

I hate that when the tech isn't working, one suddenly feels like doing the thing isn't even worth it because it won't be tracked.
Or does that only happen to me? >.>
Yeah, definitely feel a little too reliant on my watch sometimes. Like planning my running schedule around watch battery level…
We like to joke that the exercise doesn’t count if I forgot to press the “track” button. Or worse, leave the watch charging at home….
if the dog could talk he’d probably say humans are ridiculous and to just enjoy the walk lol

Dog pictures are the best kind of update! Glad to hear she’s settling in well.
Oh man I remember the first night we created our pup when we brought him home and he cried most of the night. Will keep the soft music in mind for future dogs lol.

I am so thrilled with B Dave Walters that I want to see his other stuff. When you have a chance, can you link me that stream? I'll put it on my list. Also, in LA by Night, they get some ahmazing guest stars, including Taliesen and Matt Mercer!
Thanks for the art love too!
Here's the playlist link on youtube! Though I guess that takes you right to the first video?
SpoilerTo be honest, it does take a couple episodes to get into the characters but I love it -- I am playing in a Curse of Strahd / Ravenloft D&D campaign though and love the setting. I'm generally a big wimp when it comes to horror stuff but mostly this has been gothic horror that I personally don't mind so much. (Also also, Mark Meer who voices Male Shepard in Mass Effect is one of the players, so that's a lot of fun.)
If Ravenloft stuff isn't really your thing, B Dave Walters does a TON of other misc stuff on the D&D youtube channel. Can't speak to how it is though, because I barely keep up with this and Critical Role as it is lol.
I'm sorry to hear about your friend & dad. Thinking of you.

Yay weekend!
So been a bit of a crazy week at work. Not "bad" crazy but just busy. Hope everyone's doing well.
I consistently checked in with my coach and did most of the workouts / meal planning stuff. Also tracked water every day through my garmin app.
((In other news I've converted my partner to garmin since he was looking to get his first smart watch for general health tracking. This has resulted in resuming evening walks that we've been slacking on through the summer (yay!) and we even went out and did a short hike today with the dog (double yay!)))

Picking up new puppy is great motivation to get those bugs fixed and earn that time off. Good luck!! So excited for you and the new pups.

Welcome back, and awesome that you hired a coach! I also kept my goals simple this challenge in hopes that I will stay consistent. I'm glad to see you here again.
Thank you! I'm finding it quite effective so far to put my money where my motivation should be lol.
It's definitely tough to describe how effective even simple goals can be. I feel like the simpler goals help me get farther than any complicated plans to improve, by a long shot.

Challenge has started! Happy Monday all. I definitely had one of those weekends where I didn't want to do anything. It was rainy and quiet, so just kind of played games.
Work this week is already chaos so honestly I'm glad I had a chill weekend.
✅ Checked in with forums (this post!)
✅ Checked in with coach (and did the things)
✅ Water tracking in progress (sitting at about 1.5 liters, looking to get another 0.5-1.0 Liter before the end of the night)

Last week’s results updated. Work and house stress got to me. Something to think about for this week and for future challenge planning ideas
