1. Crazy is as crazy does! I celebrated my birthday by running 10km this morning in 53:12, that's 4:20 inside my previous personal best. http://www.endomondo.com/workouts/s1XL0jVO5BU I can't see myself taking 9 minutes off that in the next 11 days. But I think I can beat it.
2. Having not done any push-ups for a while, my app told me yesterday was an endurance test i.e. as many push-ups as possible without a break. I managed a disappointing 25.
3. I ran 5.41 km yesterday in 26:12. That's a distance record for this year (by about 150 metres) and my best 5km was just 7 seconds outside the PB I set on Saturday. Not bad considering I'd already cycled 8km that day. Thursday's my birthday. Would I be crazy to attempt a 10km?
4. I ran just over 5km today, for the first time this year. A personal best for the distance at 23:55
5. Another 4k today just inside 20 minutes.
6. Much better, thanks. I ran 4km on Saturday and another 3km today. Another 63 push-ups yesterday. I don't know if my 10km goal is achievable without injury. But I'll keep working towards it anyway. I'll get there eventually.
7. 63 pushups yesterday in 5 sets. Hope to go running later today.
8. I eased back into running yesterday. 3.07km in 15:00 exactly, which is pretty good considering I was taking it easy. The disastrous attempt at speed work may have had some benefit after all. Having talked to a physiotherapist (OK, a physiotherapy student who's just finished his degree) it seems that switching from walking to work to cycling may have been a factor. I'll be alternating from now on.
9. I ran just over 3km yesterday: Splits at each 1km mark: 4:53, 4:49, 4:58 I had been out of action for over a week due to a mild muscle strain so I wanted to ease back in. Happy with the time and the consistency.
10. Thanks for the support, fellow funkster! I still haven't been able to run. I might risk a short run tomorrow. I did 56 push-ups in 5 sets. Cycled 4km.
11. No run today, my calves are still too sore. 41 push-ups in 5 sets. Cycled 4km (to work) and will do the same again later.
12. I'm adding my 1 wildcard point for completing this week's one-mile challenge to Dexterity, because that's where it seems to belong.
13. I did 45 push-ups yesterday in five reps. A little sore after that. I intended to go running today but my calves were too sore. I may have strained what I have discovered are my soleus muscles. Hope I'll be OK to run tomorrow.
14. Ran 3.05km yesterday. 14:55 which was a decent time. I beat my personal best for a mile (6:44) which was the intention, and also scraped a PB for 1 km. My overall time suffered as a result. I need to work more on increasing my distance than my speed.
15. I ran a 6:44 mile yesterday, as part of a 3km run. A personal best, although my overall time suffered from the effort.
