  1. Time for the first progress update! Let's just say...week one has been a failure. I'm not even going to try to make excuses for it. I managed to make my exercise goals minus the long walk (though I ended up walking quite a bit anyway, not quite purposefully). The diet goal...just nope. As far as life goals go, I've picked up some sources for basic Mandarin and a CLEP book and will begin working on those soon. All in all, there's much room for improvement. I'll do better from now on, I promise!
  2. Great job on your goals, keep up the good work! Also, your pictures are beautiful. Since I had awesome foreign language teachers in high school, I wanted to be a foreign language teacher as well, but my family doesn't support that dream at all. So, I've decided to just learn languages in my free time, or possibly get a minor in one. It's nice that you're so dedicated to teaching though!
  3. Our goals are really similar! Like Torilynne said, your life goal is really sweet. Definitely a good goal!
  4. Wow, it's so cool that your family is coming along for the ride! Both you and your son have great goals. I'm with you on the pullup, I've never been able to do one either, though I can do a few chin ups.
  5. Thank you, Tekilla. My cousin is taking sign language classes, and she loves it. As far as languages go, I've drabbled in several languages so unfortunately I wouldn't call myself fluent in anything besides English, but I'm best at spanish and german. Wheat is definitely an ick. When I'm off it, I feel so much better, but I have such a sweet tooth that it's hard to stay off...and then weaning yourself off of it again is horrible.
  6. Wow, 18 lbs is a big goal! We're all rooting for you though! I totally feel you on the procrastinating thing...your project sounds like it must be really big. I'm in with you on the bodyweight exercise plan though, but I'm aiming for 3x/week. What kind of workouts do you do? Mine are usually kind of random, as long as I make sure to work everything.
  7. I love to study languages, picking just one was hard to do. If only I could be fluent in everything...maybe someday, heh. It's amazing how convenient and actually useful bodyweight exercises are. My legs still hurt from lunges on Sunday, though I did use a kettlebell for those. CLEP stands for College Level Examination Program. Basically you just read a book, take a test, and if you pass it you get college credit for that subject. The books and the tests are cheap so if you're good at a subject, it's a nice way to save time and money. The only downside is you don't get an actual grade for it so it doesn't affect your GPA, but that can be good or bad depending on the GPA you already have I guess.
  8. Hello everyone! I'm a bit late to hop on the challenge boat, so this will be short and sweet. I'll start by introducing myself. My name is Kai and I've been stalking NF silently for a while (maybe I should be an assassin...). I'm new here, so this is my first challenge...Basically I've been telling myself I'll clean up my diet and get in shape forever, but it never happens, so I'm hoping if I make it public maybe I'll be more likely to stick to it. People tend to tell me I'm skinny, which isn't really true, as I'm about 5'6" and 145 lbs. Weight doesn't really matter too much to me, but I'd like to lose around 10 lbs. I'm lactose intolerant and sensitive to wheat but I always eat these things anyway so I kinda have perma bloaty belly going on, which goes right away if I'm good about my diet. I've always loved running and weight lifting, but I'm too terrified to go to a gym by myself and can't convince anyone to go with me, so I usually do body weight workouts at home, but since I moved to Texas I've been really irregular about them. In the end, I really just want to not be tired all the time (which probably has to do with my diet) and look good in my cute new swimsuit. Anyway, here's a quick rundown of my stats and goals, which will probably be updated, along with possibly pictures, when I get myself more organized. Race: Human Class: Adventurer Starting Attributes STR 3 DEX 3 STA 3 CON 2 WIS 2 CHA 2 (I know they're all kinda grouped together, I'm not very good at this.) Goals Diet/Fitness: -Go for a run at least 2x/week and a long walk at least once (4 STA) -Do bodyweight workouts at least 3x/week (and get 5 chinups in a row!) (3 STR, 2 DEX) -Cut out 80% of dairy and wheat from my diet (3 CON) Life: Finish a CLEP book & test (2 WIS) Begin learning basic Mandarin Chinese (1 WIS) Some measurements... Bust: 37 in Waist: 31.5 in Hip: 36 in Thigh: 21 in Arm: 11 in Please give me lots of support and I'll be sure to do the same!
