  1. This has always confused me and I want to buy one to use as a seat at my desk. I am just not sure which size is right for me. I am on the shorter side (5'4) and have been told like 3 different things. I found some nice ones on Amazon and at Walmart but I need to know which size is best for my height. Anyone know?
  2. I think most people could stand to eat less sugar, including myself. I have a friend who eats like a PIG but she is only 120 pounds, has a beautiful body, and is healthy from head to toe. I think her secret is her activity level. She spends a lot of time outdoors too.
  3. For me it is simple... Soft skin, clear skin, hair free skin, and glowing skin. Hair that is perfect (in my eyes) - nice, thick, and full yet soft. Black everything.. Black tops, black pants, black shoes. LOVE love clothing and accessories!
  4. So like many women out there, my hormones are not balanced. I do not get a monthly visitor. While I have had it where I went and entire year with getting one once a month, most years have been 4 to 8 times a year. The issue here is I am healthy otherwise and no doctor has been able to recommend anything outside of birth control. That is something I refuse to be on. I have found a few things that have helped me. Maca root, wheat germ, and chia seeds. When I actually work with them and make an effort to have them on a daily or at least weekly basis, my hormones are far more balanced. Also, I noticed that piercings can effect hormones too! This is a new discovery for me. I stopped wearing my earrings 24/7 and it does make a difference. I have to read more on why. What hormone issues do you gals have? What has helped you?
  5. Women will always be less strong than men in comparison. Women are not designed to carry muscle like men. It sucks but you have to learn to compare yourself to other women, not guys. Maybe working out with a female from school would help you out. Or you can continue with them but just don't put pressure on yourself to beat them. Do what you do for YOU not to prove anything to them.
  6. I tried going to gyms and didn't feel comfortable there. I am the type of person who prefers to workout by myself or with only a few other people. When I was younger, I was in pretty good shape but thanks to not eating right, my hormones got imbalanced. This has lead to years of my weight going up and down. I am looking to getting it all back on track and have reached goals but I swear the hormone thing holds women back from weight loss more than men!
  7. I find that using chia seeds in my diet daily helps A LOT with keeping my bowel movements regular and also keeps water retention down. When I started eating them a few years ago, I lost 15 pounds right off the bat. I actually was using them to increase minerals, I did not expect to lose weight. I have been recommending people try them since. I add them to things like rice and pasta dishes as well as eggs and soup. I even add them to ice cream. I know it sounds weird but it might make a difference for you too!
  8. I recently sat down with a dietitian in a conference who shared that some foods work great for burning off fat for some people and actually have the opposite effect on others. This is because we all require different things. This depends on heritage, hormones, and DNA. I am going to be working out which foods work best for me. Do you know what works for you?
  9. Lemon juice helps with GERD as well as raw honey. I think you would benefit from drinking warm water with lemon juice in it each morning. I had issues with GERD on and off my whole life and lemon juice has helped a lot. You can add in raw honey to tea or coffee or just take it by the spoon once or twice a day. The enzymes in it work to heal the gut. It has to be raw though. It looks like crystallized butter. I just wanted to share that with you as I feel it can help while you are on your weight loss journey.
  10. I know a lot of people these days use apps but I find that I end up forgetting to fill mine in and keep up with it. I would much rather use a physical chart. How do you track your progress and does it help inspire you to keep going?
  11. Are you looking to both put on muscle as well as lose fat? The issue here if so is that you need more calories to put on muscle and less to remove/lose fat. This is why it tends to not work out well. If you are only aiming to lose fat and maintain muscle, you are young enough to do both cardio and lifting no problem. What kinds of food do you plan on eating?
  12. Have you considered separating those two days a bit more? I am not sure what your schedule is but I know for some people it works best to have 2 days off of certain body parts. If you find this works for you, then by all means go for it. I tend to need the 48 hours to heal and repair fully.
  13. I am not sure if this is the right place for this or not, but i would love some yoga poses and stretches that are great for beginners. I know it helps with circulation, relaxation, mood, and weight loss so I want to do it 2 days a week on top of what I already do. So what kinds of poses are best for beginners? Any plan recommendations that are good?
  14. A lot of times, for people it is best to do small changes. We as humans naturally resist change. Some more than others. I would work on maybe doing small changes at first. Cutting out things here and there. Making micro weekly goals and see how that goes for you. You need to make eating healthier your habit not just your "diet change".
  15. Sounds like a weird request but I am not much of a fruit eater. I would much rather get it through juice or drinking but this kind of sets me up with some issues. I know I need more fruit fiber and vitamin C in my diet but most fruit drinks are LOADED with sugar. What would be a good and easy way around this?
