  1. Thanks, Zeroh13! I was wondering what the four week challenge was... and I think I will try it out. =) Might help my new habits stick better and make me way more organized. Thank you so much... gonna check out some of the threads too.
  2. Hey. Great topic and loving to see what people are using as their loot... here's my current 8 week loot plan. It comes off extremely materialistic...lol but some of the stuff I actually need like new clothing, a new hoodie, and socks... also might help keep me from buying random stuff I want just cos' I want it... now I need to earn it. Work Out Goals If I complete 3 workouts every week for 2 weeks, I will buy a new workout outfit from Torrid. If I complete 3 workouts every week for 4 weeks, I will buy a new pair of tennis shoes. If I complete 3 workouts every week for 6 weeks, I will buy a new workout outfit from Torrid. If I complete 3 workouts every week for 8 weeks, I will buy a new workout outfit from Torrid. Healthy Eating Goals If I eat healthy, whole foods for 1 week, I will buy myself Antihero on steam. If I eat healthy, whole foods for 2 weeks, I will buy 2 packs of new socks, and throw out all of my old ones. If I eat healthy, whole foods for 3 weeks, I will buy a new hoodie for fall. If I eat healthy, whole foods for 4 weeks, I will go get a massage. If I eat healthy, whole foods for 5 weeks, I will buy this waterbottle I want. If I eat healthy, whole foods for 6 weeks, I will go see a movie in theaters. If I eat healthy, whole foods for 7 weeks, I will buy this for my car. If I eat healthy, whole foods for 8 weeks, I will buy myself a Smart Watch/Fitbit.
  3. Dizkvr, I totally understand school having a hold on your life... that was me about a year ago. Now that I am settled in a bit to my job I too am trying to reinvent myself. And I've had the same problem of basically yo-yoing... stuff would come up and everything good that I've done would suddenly become undone. I think expecting setbacks is part of the journey perhaps... and I think we got a lot to learn. I love that you'd like to do Olympic weightlifting... let that be your long-term goal. Keep your eyes on the prize. I am honestly thinking a very long-term goal for me would be to participate in like a 5K... my joints are so bad, that's a bad idea right now... lol but hey, who knows what we can do in 6 months... a year... to two years...? The sky is the limit. Would love to hear more from you. <3
  4. Hey Misty, Nice to meet you and congrats on starting this journey up! Just an FYI... you look beautiful now and before. =) But of course, we always want to be in our BEST FORM... especially when we begin to develop health issues and diseases that may be brought on by excess weight and bad habits... I am sorry that you have so many health issues. I have gained many health issues within the last 12 years that would probably not even be a risk factor for me if I were healthier... I look forward to following you and your blog and gave you a sub on Wordpress & Facebook. I also plan on using wordpress to help track my progress. https://topossesspatience.wordpress.com/ Nice to meet you!! Good luck!!!!
  5. Hi Sarah. Nice to meet you and you look amazing! I am sure that you will find help here as well with focus and accountability. I am in search of the same thing and to make new friends with same goals.
  6. Hey Elerinna, Sorry you are having pain. I am a Nurse but I can't offer medical advice obviously for many reasons. I would recommend however perhaps seeing a doctor and a Physical Therapist (or even at least talk to them.) Since it seems to be issues like when your joints, muscles, and such... they are experts on that stuff and may be able to point out more clues. I did have a similar issue about a year ago when I started briskly walking on the treadmill. My knee began hurting like crrraazzy. I went and saw my doctor and she diagnosed me with Patella Tracking disorder (very common in women due to how our body is shaped, and because I am fat Haha) which essentially means the IT band pulls the knee cap to the side because the muscle on the other side is too weak. I would've never known had I not gone. Also, try RICE. Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation where you can for temporary pain relief. So after workouts, apply ice to those sore spots... rest up, and maybe elevate your extremities. Best of luck and look forwarding to hearing more. =) Thanks, PayShi
  7. Hi. My name is Patience, or PayShi. I just joined and am slowly working my way through the Academy's mindset to begin. A little about myself: I am a Tele Nurse who works the night shift so my days are opposite. I am 27 years old, engaged, and have two cute doggies. I have been BIG my whole life. I was that fat kid, and grew up into it as well. I am from the south where our social gatherings usually are surrounded by food... lots of country, fried food. My mom struggled with her weight all of her life like me, and after hitting in the 500s in her 30s was forced to have Gastric Bypass surgery in 2003. Since then, she's lost over half of her weight but she's also gained a TON of other things like malabsorption issues which has caused much of her teeth to rot as one example. While there are other surgeries out there... I honestly want to avoid the knife and with good reason. Other things about me: I love playing video games. I mostly play PC games, trending towards MMOs at this time. I also like binge watching on Netflix and watching Asian dramas. I hope that the nerd fitness academy can help me make new habits as everything I've tried in the past has failed because I fall back into habits. Nice to meet all of you and I'd love to make some friends to share journeys together... (especially if you are a night shifter haha.) Thanks, PayShi
