  1. the wagon wobbles a lot which is why we keep falling off
  2. mostly good on the eating front if we discount the small piece of chocolate cake I had for morning tea A colleague brought it in and I didnt like to say no.... mainly cause I like chocolate cake! I set the alarm last night to do my abs, but I was out dropping off dinner to my partner at work (seeing as we both slept in in the morning and he never had time to get anything together and was on a 24hr shift). However you will be pleased to know that when I got home I did do some ab exercises... not a lot, and I think I need to up that a bit, but it was a start! weight this morning, 53.9kg and 21.9 bf. Dont see me making target on the bf this month somehow.
  3. My biggest annoyance is people who use text speak in an email. Actually, people who use text speak in texting annoy the sh*t out of me as well. My brother (who is 55) sends me texts that I practically need a bloody degree to interpret. Grrr. He also LOLs a lot. I hate that too. Double grrr.
  4. if attempting to sit down on the toilet makes you want to scream like a baby, then yeah your muscles have had a damn good workout, and it is beyond me how anyone could then go and work those muscles again until the pain has subsided. (yes I've been there )
  5. ok, I have had a good weekend eating wise. No crappy carbs other than tiny (and we are talking itsy bitsy - like a quarter of a normal size piece of bread) club sandwich on saturday when I was at a friends party. I still havent done any ab exercises though, so tonight's the night kids! I've set the alarm on my mobile so I'll have absolutely no excuse to forget! Hows that for commitment.
  6. ah dantes, it makes me feel so much better to read your posts.... when you fall off the wagon, you REALLY fall off! ok, so now lets both try and get it right.
  7. jeez, just when i think things cant get any worse, I rip my calf muscle again. I was just running across the road in the rain and ping, away it went...excruciating. This happened about 6 weeks ago and i thought it was all ok, just have to put your foot down wrong and bang. so sprinting will be out. Ok I am going to make a concerted effort to do my abs though. I told my boyfriend last night that he just has to remind me, its not like I'm taking hours out of my life to do them for heavens sake. I can do them while watching tv cant I.
  8. I'm impressed, you are doing very well on this challenge. Keep it up. Dont lose focus like i have.
  9. thanks for the encouragement guys, but I'm just out of the zone at the moment for some reason, just had a poached egg for breakfast - on toast (my spelt flour bread) I'm just not going to worry about it today and try and get with the program starting tomorrow. I've lost focus, I'm going to look for it today, I must have put it down somewhere.....
  10. I like your goals spezzy. And pistol squats... are you crazy... they are mean looking - I would probably just fall over. Tai chi looks really graceful????
  11. from bad to worse I'm afraid. Had my monthly book club meet.. (girls night, gossip, wine, books) and it is a potluck eating fest. So I had enchiladas, nachos and salad for dinner. And yeah, no ab exercises either. Sigh....... I feel like my august challenge will start next week on the good news front, i have a specialist appt for my rotator cuff on 19th august.
  12. jeez, I didnt try very hard. I just went out for lunch and had a really yummy delicious chicken cumin salad with sprouts on baby spinach.... yum, good. Then as soon as i got back I decided i needed something sweet and went and got a piece of ginger crunch. And it was huge and I ate it all and now I feel completely disgusted with myself. I did not need it, I was not hungry. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I think I may be in a self sabotaging mood or something. Moving on....
  13. Army, I found that when I decided to go "primal" or "low carb" I really had to think/plan my meals. Its all very well saying no bread (or rice or pasta) but if thats been part of your everyday meals then you have to have a plan to get around it. For instance I used to have 2 pieces of toast for breakfast everyday. Well now most days I have bacon and eggs. On days when I am just not organised at home in the morning, I have a protein shake made with some coconut milk and water. For lunches, I've never really been much of a sandwich eater although would have the ocassional wrap or a dish with rice. so I started to take my lunch to work a lot more often or else I would get soup. soup without bread was (and is) still a challenge, but I just learnt that I needed to make sure I ate all the soup. Good luck.
  14. I'll try my hardest Did well on that front yesterday, although my lunch salad had a few croutons in it, I always forget to ask them to not put them in until I see them start. Not enough to count though I would say, I'd be lucky if I ate 5 of the tiny little buggas. Completely forgot to do ab exercises again. I'm hopeless.
  15. see you had bread day one... you're as bad as I am.... let the challenge begin!
  16. Hey topher, congrats on your marriage. Sounds like you have got yourself a fantastic woman there, (every man should have one ) Good achievable goals. Go to it.
  17. maybe its the way the planets are lined up, but I was starving this morning after a decent fatty breakfast. I dont usually find myself "starving". Had a munch on some nuts to get through it.
  18. ok then, yes I'm up for it. No crappy carbs. Do little rice crackers count?? Sh*t, this could be harder than I think.
  19. oooh Dantes, thats a real challenge. I've already failed, i had bread yesterday with my soup. (admittedly it was made with Spelt flour which is an ancient grain apparently and not so bad????) I'm also making canneloni tonight (gluten free canneloni shells though from the whole foods shop). You win. Your prize is in the mail! Perhaps I need to be more specific. No white rice, no gluten-y crappy pasta, no overly processed breads - the ocassional piece of wholegrain sourdough or spelt bread ok??? What do you think? I guess what I'm trying to do is ensure I get better nutrients from my food. I'm still not entirely convinced on the no grain deal as I dont have gut issues with it although I know the lectins are not good or whatever. Certainly the carbs I'm adding in, like gluten free canneloni and spelt or sourdough bread are not "cheap" (as in price!!!) As for yesterday, I completely forgot to do any ab exercises. I was being nerdy and playing bejewelled and then reading my book. doh.
  20. Good luck on no.1 I've kind of got bread creep happening after my holiday, but I'm only going to really allow it if I'm having soup I have decided.
  21. weight this morning 53.8kg, body fat 21.9. Thats a pretty good loss in the last few days, and I put it all down to not drinking copious amounts of beer that I was while on holiday! Back home to the cold wet miserable weather now so beer is totally out of the question.
  22. thanks army. I remember doing flutterkicks at bootcamp and they are bitching... will do them again. Planks I can do for a bit but not for long. I'm kind of trying to not do anything at all that involves my shoulder at the moment, so no pushups, no planks really. will try and get to specialist soon about that.
  23. man, that sounds gruelling. Good on you!
  24. Ok I'm in again, these challenges are a good way to stay motivated. Just back from a weeks holiday in New Caledonia with an extra 1.5kgs and 1% body fat packed on. (too much beer, bread and pastries!) 1. No rice, pasta or bread (however, in the interests of the 80/20 primal rule, I'll allow a piece of bread once a week at the most) 2. Abdominal exercises - yet to be determined - can someone give me some good ideas please that I can do from home with only a swiss ball. Also please note that I can not lift anything with my shoulder injury. 3. Sprint once a week - ok how hard can that be... get out walking the dogs and bloody well sprint with them.... seriously, come on.... but trust me, it will be hard. 4. By end of month, I want weight to be 53kgs and body fat 21.5% (on home scale). Will check figures on 2 August but this morning they were 54.9kg and 22.7BF. all of this is achievable and easy. Surely..... (hmmm i think I said something like that last time)
