  1. haha, I cant even see the video right now, but I'm voting yes, steve should do it....
  2. yup there is something quite exciting about fitting into something in your wardrobe that was once a no go! Well done.
  3. great stuff Jacob. And man, you are slimming down. WTG
  4. bang... am there! below in fact. Down from 60.6kg (highest weight ever) in October to 54.7kg today. (Goal weight 55kg). now... where is that pizza
  5. Do you ever record macros? They are a great way to get started. After you record them, hit Alt-F8 and click "Step Into" and you can see the code for the macro to see what the VB commands are. Yes thats how I usually get going... but it is always so long between doing these things that I have to refer back to another macro to refigure out how to loop and stuff. I suppose that makes me a little bit nerdy because I actually want to....
  6. OH MY GOD. that is such a long time... eeek
  7. Goals: 1. Have decided to do the 100 pushup challenge so that means following the programme. that means by the end of week 4 of this challenge I should be up to a minimum of 20 consecutive pushups. Yes I'm on the low ranking program so 100 is quite a way off, but I reckon I should be able to do more than 20 by the end of 4 weeks. And I now know how to do them properly, and I mean I will be doing them with perfect form, not the half assed way I was doing them when I was at bootcamp started off well but had to give up at week 2 due to my rotator cuff injury. will give myself a C for effort rather than a fail 2. Go to the gym a minimum of 2 days a week - this seems like it should be easy but I really dont like the gym, but I must try and keep a minimum level of fitness going hmmm C-, one week never got there at all, has been once a week for the last 2 3. Ensure I have at least 2 alcohol free days a week - again this sounds like it should be easy, but I love my wine!!! C- first week had 4 booze free days, 1 week with none, other weeks have had only 1 4. Continue to eat as primally as possible, which means no grains, rice and pasta. Given the 80/20 rule, I'll allow some leeway for the odd cheat, but that would be in the region of once a week or something. mostly good in this area although had one particularly bad day when I ate everything in sight and it was all bad. Mark for this aspect would be B- Pretty happy overall even with those fairly miserable marks I've given myself. My weight has continued to drop a little, I feel generally healthy apart from the shoulder. I think if I do next challenge I'll make it fitness related goals only. I had considered changing from pushups to squats mid this challenge, but my head just wasnt in it for that. Off on holiday on Saturday. Yay
  8. i have absolutely no idea how twitter works. I am on facebook but extremely intermittently, usually its just so I can post photos of my holidays! Or check out photos of other peoples holidays. I dont really get the twitter thing, why do celebrities (or anyone for that matter) think I am interested in their inane thoughts? Maybe I just dont understand? To be fair though, I have posted the odd inane comment on facebook but they are so rare I dont think it counts
  9. I dont think I'm nerdy enough for this forum actually. I do play bejewelled - thats as nerdy as I get really. I'm a big fan of excel spreadsheets too and every now and again I'll create a macro for something and think dammit I am a genius... havent done one for ages... must look for a reason to create one. (clearly I'm not a genius though, it takes me forever and a day)

man, they were all ripped. quite an impressive sight to behold. I'm still daydreaming over it... I never knew that I had a weakness for men with abs!
  11. some people also say a big carb refeed can help you move through a plateau as well!

    Suse is back!

Day 26 Friday FAIL no exercise at all drank plenty of wine. Ate some crap as well. Bread and cake snuck into my mouth. Me bad. Friday always seems to be a bad day for me Day 27 Saturday better Big dog walk, no gym in the weekends as I dont want to go back into town, so dog walk counts did drink wine as out for dinner Eating totally on track all day. Did very well. Day 28 Sunday so so Friends over for lunch, so had wine, also had bread with the soup I made. Other than that, rest of food was primal. Big dog walk after lunch so 28 days of the challenge. How do I rate myself. Well crap really. My shoulder has been a real pain in the arse (well a pain in the arm really) so I'm not sure how things are going to go with this going forward. Didnt go to gym as often as planned. I really dont like the gym. I am clear on that now. But I'll still continue to try and go regardless Didnt have anywhere near enough alcohol free days. I really need to make some improvements in this area of my life. Not that I drink to excess but I just think it is good to let the liver have a break from processing toxins My primal eating has been pretty good, but there's a lot more slippage lately. I'm kind of ok with that though as I dont want food ruling my life. If I feel like bread I'll eat some, but there are limits. The difference between my old way of life and my new more primal way is that I am totally aware of what i"m eating. Our food is way more interesting and tasty as a result. So thats got to be good. And regardless of all the above, not really getting a lot of exercise, still drinking, eating the ocassional wrong thing, I'm still dropping weight and fat. Yay.
  13. thanks for that. so how long do you think it really took to "heal". I just feel like I've been suffering for months and seeing no light at the end of the tunnel. However, now I am not doing boot camp and have made a conscious decision to not do pushups or anything that might aggravate the shoulder perhaps I'll start to improve if I ensure I do the exercises I've been given by the physiotherapist.

OMG am watching 300. the bodies on those men..... phwoar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. thanks Army. I can do the stretch behind my back but that other one causes me grief. That article totally summed up my problems though, unable to lift my arm above my head or extend to the side or front without pain. I think one thing I took out of that though is massage. I'll get my boyfriend on to the shoulder massaging ... I'll just move his hand to the side a little and we'll be there...
  16. actually this post is probably aimed at 67 Alecto cause I just read your interview with Steve and I noticed you mentioned you rotator cuff injury. Mine has been getting progressively worse, I've had to stop doing my 100 pushup challenge which I'm a bit bummed about as I really felt that was a great challenge to do. I've been doing physio for some time and accupuncture and I've even had a cortisone shot to no avail. Clearly next step is a specialist to see what else I can do to get this bugger fixed. What exercises did you do for your upper body while your rotator cuff was healing? I feel that it is becoming a useful excuse for me to not exercise. What sort of therapy worked for your shoulder? Any advice from anyone on this subject would be appreciated.
  17. i just dont believe you need to go all atkins at all. If you can get a copy of the primal blueprint it is a good easy read. However really all the information is in his blog, read through Primal Blueprint 101 on Marks Daily apple. If you stick to under 100g of carbs per day, you should lose weight. When you muck things up from what I can see, you do it by eating junk and that junk is usually made up of sugar. If you havent already, watch the movie "Fathead" - that is quite interesting. It's not fat that will make you fat, it really is sugar and excess carbohydrate. The other thing too is your sleeping habits, if you are not sleeping well or getting enough then that could slow down your weight loss. And then add in to the mix stress. Your parents stress you out about not losing weight, well I'm sorry but I say F them, it is your body. Let it happen in time, do you have to drop 20lbs in a month to be a success. No. The other thing you should keep in mind is that you've been exercising like crazy. You've built muscle as well and I say to that, good on you girl. You're a legend in this department and I wish I had even a quarter of your motivation. I dont even contemplate ratios or count calories or anything. I just couldnt be bothered. And at first I found the eating fat thing a bit odd because I do have more than I ever used to but I wouldnt say I eat huge amounts of fat. Really I get my fat by using a lot more butter to cook in or using coconut milk/cream in cooking (or even in a protein shake - yum yum yum)

    Suse is back!

Day 25 Thursday No squats no gym (but I have really sore legs from day before) drank wine ate fries at the pub, they were disgusting but I ate them anyway. Fail
  19. Awesome results Vikki. Well done! I think that you have been posting every day has helped you as well. Its good to look back and track how you've been doing. Keep it up!
  20. second the MDA. It wasnt until I read the PRimal Blueprint and cut out the grainy carbs that I started to lose weight (although admittedly I started on a massive exercise plan at the same time, but now I'm barely exercising at all and am still dropping a little)

    Suse is back!

DAY 24 Wednesday No squats (no I lie, I did 1/2 a dozen in the kitchen while cooking dinner) Went to the gym - APPLAUSE! Yes indeedy, I got off my butt and went. Rotator cuff injury is getting worse though, just cant do anythign with my arms, (except the tricep pulldown thingy) one glass of wine with dinner Ate pretty good, bacon with every meal, perhaps that is why I put on half a kg overnight!

    Suse is back!

DAY 23 Tuesday hopeless. no exercise of any type which clearly means no gym drank half a bottle of wine But eating was good, avoided the after lunch sugar temptation. Strangely, for all this my weight is going down, and so is my body fat. Yay. I *might* try to get to the gym today but it is so cold I hate having to go and change in to my gym gear. I'm a wuss.
  23. have you considered an Intermittent Fast? That could help you get through a plateau. I have lunch and then drink water for the rest of the day and evening. Get a bit of a grumbly stomach but nothing I cant handle. It's more boredom that does my head in, its like "hang on its dinner time, where's my food?" Then when I get up in the morning have a big cooked breakfast.
  24. you know beer is a grain dont you? doing great though!

    Suse is back!

day 22 monday Ok dont watch this space... I had a small glass of wine last night. Admittedly it was only a very tiny (probably 100mls) of red wine and that is full of antioxidants so I think I might say that is ok. I didnt drink copious amounts of white wine which is what I've been trying to cut back on didnt go to gym didnt do any squats - however I did get on the floor and do a few plank exercises last night Ate very well yesterday.
